The website it said that acrylic tips would only cost $32 and i thought that was cheap and pretty great, so I called and they said it would be $35, which is fine because that's pretty standard. After my manicure they charged me $40 and I asked why it would be $40 and they said it was because i asked for an almond shape... almond is the standard shape and she asked me what shape i wanted inferring that there was no "standard shape". No one told me i would be charged $5 for a shape and then I called after to speak to a manager and they said that she wasn't there and i asked when she would be in and they said they didn't know and that she was on vacation. So i left her a message about my nails and they said they would call me back when they got in touch with her as if they were never gonna call me back. I get a call 5 minutes later... I guess the manager was on vacation close by... and she told me I should have known and that EVERYWHERE charges extra for two colors and a shape and I said no... first of all, no one said I was charged more because I put a different color on my ring finger, and i have NEVER been charged for an almond shape. They kept making up reasons that they charged me extra and implying that "i should have known". I am beyond pissed. The nails aren't even that great and they robbed me. WOULD NEVER GO BACK and if i could i would go back in time and never go there. They kept hassling me to get my eyebrows waxed or to get a Brazilian, it was annoying and I could tell they were trying to get money out of me. I was nothing but kind the WHOLE time. Read Less

After being told there was a 45 minute wait at a nail salon down the street, my friend and I decided to take a chance on nail pro. We walked in around 4 pm on a Friday and there were no other customers in the shop. After a few minutes awkwardly standing in the doorway while two employees looked at us and continued talking to each other we were finally acknowledged. We asked for two manicures and then the employees went back to talking and let us stand there for another two or three minutes! The actual manicure itself was subpar. The tools didn't look particularly sanitized and the woman who did my nails used her log nail to scrape under mine leaving small bruises around my nail bed. I attempted to ask for another layer of color on one nail because it wasn't painted correctly, the woman didn't correct the problem and just laughed. I wanted to like this place. They have lots of colors to choose from and for $13 it's not a bad deal. But trust me you are definitely getting a $13 manicure. Read Less

First time at this nail place. Got a pedi. Several things i disliked. Did nothing but use the purple pumis stone for a minute, my feet are dry and cracked and I look for places that take time to get rid of skin and callous. No whirlpool in the foot tub. Decent foot massage. Paint job waas good from what u can tell from day 1. They use plastic inserts in a the tub for sanitary reasons. But used a old brush to clean nails. Read Less

I've been seeing Huong for almost 3 years now, and when I'm traveling and have to get my mani/pedi somewhere else, I'm always disappointed. Never the case with Huong! She always takes great care of me and my nails. She's professional, friendly, and also very meticulous when it comes to her work! My nails and toes are ALWAYS exactly what I want, cuticles are trimmed to to precision, polish is perfect, and feet are soft. The cost is extremely reasonable compared to other nail salons, but I don't need fancy, I just need a great job and I get that every time with Huong. The nail technicians are friendly and helpful. They are detail oriented and work as a team. I love that they have so many colors and will definitely be back. There are a variety of options and the prices are reasonable, especially for Brookline. It was sanitary and they use new products for every client. Got a pedicure here today, and couldn't recommend it less. The water was cold with no jets. I got a gel polish, and they didn't even paint the entire nail on any of my toes. The polish is clumpy and streaky and generally terrible looking. I decided to splurge on a pedicure because the bottoms of my feet were looking pretty beat up, and they barely pumiced my feet. I'm irritated to have spent $50 on a pedicure only have to go somewhere else to get my polish removed, redone, and my feet pumiced. It was the day before my anniversary and I had been on the road all day and needed to get my nails done somewhere nearby. First thing that drew me here was that it's a couple stops away from my apartment and second it was cheap with good reviews. I was lucky to get here when I did because a lot of people came rolling in after 5:30pm.  I noticed they have a couple returning customers so that what good to notice. I had Lisa and she did a good job with my french mani and pedi. I hadn't gotten a mani pedi in so long I forgot what it was like to get massages. They were so good. They do nails very well- I took notice of how the other salon ladies did the customers' nails so that's good to know for next time if I don't get the same person again. And my nails are holding up well so far after 3 days (they usually chip within the first day or 2)I got a regular mani pedi french tip for $45.  Which isn't too bad in comparison to other places. I've had my nails done from Maine to Texas, to California, to Canada and even Alaska. No one does it like Houston - they do both mani and pedi together and give you a 10 minute shoulder and arm massage if you want...this salon was the closest to my favorite place in Houston. Recently dropped by because my eyebrows needed some TLC and a good friend of mine recommended me to come here.  Usually I'm quite weary of getting my eyebrows done at places because I have trust issues when it comes to people touching my face. Only went once and although the man that did my pedicure was nice, I didn't think much of the place.The towels they used were visibly dirty and stained (at least the ones they used for me) and the massage chair was broken and uncomfortable. I feel silly commenting on that but there was only one other person getting a pedicure, you would think they could move me to another seat. Instead, he didn't even acknowledge it (this thing was *loud* and obviously not working properly). I just ended up shutting it off. That and the use of dirty towels makes me think they didn't think me the same way they would any other client--it looked like the woman sitting next to me got clean towels!I also didn't get to soak my feet first while the water was bubbling which I thought was typical with pedis. They just sat me in the chair and started trimming my nails.I just don't know... Others seem to like the place though so it may not be the worst idea to give them a shot?? I went there 2 days before my marathon to get my ingrown (and black) nail fixed so I don't screw my race because of a stupid nail. I explained the problem and the lady gave me a pedicure and healed the whole thing. It was so nicely done and I had almost 0 pain during the process and nothing at all during and after the race. I've been going to nail pro for about 2 years. Never have I had my gel manicure last me 3/4 weeks since I've been going to Houng. I have also seen the owner Lana who is also great! All gel manicures come with a shoulder massage for only $30! Everyone is very friendly. The place is small but cozy. I highly recommend seeing Houng, you wont regret it she's amazing!!! Read Less

Did a really bad job at exfoliating/scrubbing, massage was basically pointless. Pretty much paid 25 to get my toenails painted. Which they still did poorly. And he shaped my nails just as bad. I was *really* pleasantly surprised by the level of professionalism at this place. So much so that I broke my 2 year review hiatus to share. It is a really local feeling salon,  nothing fancy--but they do everything perfectly. The pedicure was so clean and followed by an amazing leg massage, scrub and foot rub. I had gel done on my nails and normally I'm cleaning around the cuticle area to double check for color spilling over but they did it perfectly and beautifully. They also don't cut off your whole cuticle, I think most salons go overboard. They trim them just enough so that it's actually still healthy for your nail and that it looks clean. The lady next to me was remarking on how well they were treating her cuticles too. BEST PART: When my nails were drying my practitioner actually got up and gave me a shoulder and neck rub--like a real on that felt amazing!I love my nails--they really look perfect. I had minimal communication with my technician but she knew what she was doing!$55 for reg. ped + gel mani, can't beat the price. I love not having to travel into Boston for my nails now! Read Less

I had a pretty bad experience here. Kim, the woman that did my nails, was very rude to me and she also did a careless job. She constantly hurt my cuticles with the buffering drill and minimally cleaned up my hangnails. I got acrylic nails and you can still see my original nail substantially on the bottom and sides, including the nail polish that I had on before. The shape of one my nails is also very crooked. They do not clean their instruments!! Especially their buffering drill heads. I could see the nail dust from past nail jobs. I paid $35 for an acrylic manicure, but needless to say that I did not tip. Read Less

Not sure why this place gets such high ratings. I did not find it to be super clean-the back area (right next to my pedi chair) was cluttered and dusty. I got a pedi and thought that the massage was super short/not enough pressure applied. My toes look ok-not great. I will keep searching the Brookline area for my regular nail place! Read Less

I got a gel manicure ($30) and I will definitely be coming back for a gel mani + regular pedi combo, which is $55! The manicure was precise and clean and the shoulder/back/neck massage was AMAZING. I went here for the first time last night for a gel manicure. I needed a new place closer to my new apartment. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the manicure I got. I like their color selection and Lisa did a great job on me. I had a messed up cuticle and she was super careful and mindful of it (sometimes others are not). I actually think the cut is doing way better today than it was before I went to her (she made sure to put some alcohol on it). There are some main points that set nail pro apart for me that I really liked: 1) comfortable chairs I can actually sit back in, 2) great massage with my service, 3) convenient location, 4) I think they put a top coat on before the first clear layer of gel and that made me feel good. I don't think my other places do that but they just start with the clear gel, 5) SUN TAN LOTION ON MY HANDS (! Why don't other places I've been to do this- now I want this all the time because acrylic is activated with UV and I don't want old looking hands plus I want to be safe / healthy). Slight negatives: 1) older / not perfectly painted room. Like - it's cozy and nice enough- just not shiny and fancy like some others. Which is fine. I only gave four stars not five stars because I want to wait and see if I can continue to feel really good about them. but right now I will be back :)**updated months later:** this is my favorite place. I upgraded this review to five stars (used to be four). I can't stay away and that's never happened with me nails before. everyone at this nail salon does a great job and I feel very comfortable going there. I moved a lil farther away and still come back. Only once I wasn't 100% happy and of course they fixed it for free when I came back. I tried recommend this place. you can expect consistent service that is great.**a second update months later:** I just wanted to give Huong a shoutout. Best nail person I have ever been to. Now, I always book with her when she's around (she usually is available). I really appreciate how talented she is for both manicures and pedicures. I feel bad because this is a family owned business and I kept going there for 2 years every 10 days to get my nails done but they've messed up too many times. First, they tell you to wait 5 minutes and leave you there waiting for over 40 minutes. They put people ahead of you if they say they won't wait. I'm never going there again. Go to nail stylus.
