A better version of Aer Nailbar? I definitely think so.I used to go to Aer Nailbar a few years ago. It was my go to because the interior was awesome, everyone was nice, and the quality and cleanliness of their entire process was exactly what I wanted. I went a few times earlier this year and had pretty terrible experiences. The manicures (gel), did not last as long as they used to.  Then I discovered this place when I tried to reschedule an appointment and Aer wasn't able to help (totally understandable, it was last minute). I'm so glad that this happened. I'm positive that I'm not going to back there anytime soon now that I've discovered Bellacquer. What I like about this salon:1. Everyone is super friendly but not fake. I hate when people start interrogating you on your life. Honestly, I just come to get my nails done and maybe have some conversation. Definitely not looking to be overly chatty - but maybe that's just me. 2. Everything is very clean and organized. The salon clearly looks like cleanliness is a priority. There are no messes or clutter.3. The manicures themselves always look good and last. They don't chip after a few days (which has happened at Aer before). They also always take their time and don't rush. Super important.4. Online booking!!!!5. Tips can be left on credit cards. Can every business out there do away with forcing customers to pay tips in cash?? I literally NEVER carry cash around. So if you don't tell me in advance that I can't tip on my card and only tell me when I am paying the first time in your salon, your employee is not getting a tip. I originally heard about Bellacquer in the Boston Business Women's Facebook group, but didn't decide to visit until I received an in-person recommendation from a new friend I met while at a networking event. She told me nothing but the best, and although I had been a loyal Aer Nailbar customer for over a year, I decided to check it out. I have since received three pedicures here, and the experience has been fantastic. The salon is beautifully decorated, the color selection is superb and wonderfully organized, and they really make the entire process seamless. Everything at Bellacquer is sanitary and top quality, so you never have to worry about dipping your toes in a sub-par pedicure tub or anything less than the best. They will offer you water, the nail dryers have both warm and cool air (your choice) and the massage chairs are heavenly. They will also use hot stones and a professional callus remover machine during your pedicure at no additional cost. You are able to book appointments online, add gratuity onto your credit card while paying, and they can even save the name of colors you love on your profile in their system. Very customer-minded and creative!Since my favorite nail technician at Aer Nailbar (Bella) has now relocated to Bellacquer, this is going to be my #1 go-to salon for my monthly pedicure from now on. I went for a mani/pedi and I was blown away by the service. EXTRA attention to detail when it comes to filing/cuticle removal and even polish application. Hand/foot massage along with stone massage offered with pedi is an added bonus. I've rarely felt compelled to leave reviews on anything but I HAD to with this place. While visiting Boston, my mother needed a manicure and we found Bellacquer. My mother is very picky and particular about her manicures, etc. but since we were traveling and she needed one, Bellacquer seems like it could be the right place to meet her expectation. We made a last minute appointment by calling the salon and they were so gracious to take her in at 6PM. As soon as we walked in, we noticed that the place was so bright, airy, and modern, not to mention, spotless. I could tell that my mother felt like she would be in good hands. After Boston, my mother came to San Francisco and even after 3 weeks, her gel manicure stayed intact. She now has a higher expectation of her local salon back at home! Read Less

This place has it all, and gives my usual fav Aer NailBar a run for its money:-online booking-clean interior (both aesthetically, and steralized-wise- they have everything individually wrapped)-incredibly extensive selection of colors and types of polish-friendly staff-quality results (exacting polish job, thorough cuticle clearing that wasn't too rough, etc.)-bottle of water-convenient location-customer perks/recognition (gift for the holidays, etc.)The only thing Aer NailBar has up on Bellacquer is the addition of a shoulder massage with your hand massage. I found this salon through a Facebook group and just because of how beautiful it is i been recommending it to everyone before I went in myself. I finally made my appointment for a much needed pedicure and manicure online. The day of my appointment I was running 15 minutes late and they were still able to accommodate me and were so nice to give me quarters for the meter! The space is so clean and relaxing! They are the most sanitary nail salon I been to! They take their time to do a good job which shows in every hand I seen them do including mine! They use a callus remover machine for the feet which left it silky smooth! Most places don't do a good job removing callus with a basic pedicure but even their basic is top notch!Prices are reasonable for the high end service you receive. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back! Friendly staff, impeccably clean - everything is autoclaved or brand new and disposable. They even use a plastic cover in the foot baths, from what I have seen. Staff are great, meticulous but speedy. A little pricier than other places but they do such a good job I can count on my gels lasting all the way until they're too grown out (probably 3 weeks) whereas other places will chip and peel after 1 or 2. I'm so selfish, I didn't want to write a review because this place feels like brookline's best kept secret. Say hello to the best manicure you've ever had. Seriously, they do such a good job my normal manicure lasts as long as a gel (I don't like the way gel feels on my nails, so I've resigned myself to a life of chipped nails. NOT ANYMORE!). This is the best nail salon in Brookline...period!  It is run professionally, the place is super CLEAN, high quality products, excellent selection, and best of all, super friendly people. The prices are a bit higher than the other brookline nail establishments, but this place is all about. quality so I'm more than happy to pay for a job well-done.  Also, they have a product line called "dazzle dry" that I have never seen before. It's a special nail polish that sets completely in 5 mins (no, it's not gel) and lasts much longer than the regular stuff...ask about it! (It costs a few bucks extra but well worth it since you don't have to worry about smudge/dents because it sets rock hard). I'm glad that there's finally a place in Brookline like this. It was my first visit today. I had gel manicure and classic pedicure. I consider myself a very picky person when it comes to my nails. I've seen Nickie and think she did a great job. Place is clean and has a modern design. Pedicure chairs have massage which felt so good on my tired back. They have a huge selection of colors. Pictures here match the reality. I say that because some places show staged pictures and when you arrive it can look so different. The total price was $100 and it was a reasonable price for what you get. I had to leave by certain time and Nickie was finished exactly by the time I asked. My cuticles were cut so good that I didn't ned to ask for any adjustments. Today I went to Bellacquer for the 1st time.  I had previously been to the nail bar where the owner used to work, which was a great place (Nickie was the best!).  Nickie now owns this place and it is wonderful, even surpassing the old place.  Cleanliness is #1 to her, but she also values quality - of her work, and of the experience at the salon.  From the beautiful wood floors to the open airy space, to the softness of the towels, and the massaging pedicure chairs, it's a wonderful, relaxing and elegant experience.  She even listened to clients from the other salon (me, included) who do not like the way "manicure bars" are high up with stools that have no back support - her manicure bar is lower, so your feet touch the floor, and has normal chairs with a full back!  As far as the actual services, her pedicure is perfection! And the manicure and lip/brow wax was also top-notch. The prices are more than the "quickie places" but less than Newbury Street spas, and the experience rivals the more expensive salons. A gem! The owners of this salon were people I knew from Aernail Bar(my favorite nail salon ever, in Boston AND New York) and they did a fantastic job with the place. Service, cleanliness, friendliness, and quality are always as expected and more. I went in for the first time today for a gel mani and removal and I had forgotten about my appt so I called in to ask if I could still come in a half an hour late, or if I should reschedule for tomorrow, and they were nice enough to still have me come in without any issue. There is the whole world's selection of nail polish at your finger tips, regular and gel, and every polish application is flawless. I was so excited when Bellacquer opened near Coolidge Corner. The first time I came in without an appointment and thankfully Nickie was able to see me. The staff is personable, friendly and incredibly meticulous about getting everything right with your nails. I love how clean the salon is and you know that you are getting the best service. Everything is sterilized and I love that you get a plastic covering for pedicures - which I have not yet done, but can't wait to try. I do recommend calling to book an appointment or using their online system because I have found that they get busy and don't have the capacity to take all walk-in's yet. I normally get the gel couture manicure and it stays on for about 9-10 days without a chip, which is amazing for a regular manicure! Highly recommend! Read Less

I was really excited for a new nail place in Coolidge. After getting a gel mani, I went home and told my roommate what a great job they did. I was sadly disappointed when I got a chip within 12 hours. Within 5 days almost all of the gels were chipped. I'm known for being able to keep a gel mani chip free for almost 3 weeks so was beyond shocked when it didn't last more than a few days. For $39, this place is too expensive for a bad nail job. This salon is gorgeous, that's the first thing I kept thinking everytime I walked by waiting for the doors to open. Went today for a pedicure and was even more impressed. Beyond clean, the place sparkles. All new polished line every wall. Hot stones? Don't mind if I do? Perfectly polished toes, check and check. Kimberly was so nice after she finished she even offered to let me stay in the massage chair to dry, instead of rushing me to the dryers like most places.
