I went here this week because my normal place is closed, and this is near my house. I needed a gel manicure for a big work event coming up, and for my birthday. The manicure was okay, nothing special. Two hours later half of the gel on my thumb peeled right off. I noticed another one that was starting, and unevenness on another finger. I went back in and the older woman (maybe the owner?) helped me find the same color again and fix the nails. I was happy about that, however she didn't fix it that well; two of them looked worse and I had to ask her to put another coat before I left. Then when I got home, again 2 hours later ANOTHER nail peeled half off. I have never experienced this with any gel manicure and I have had a lot in various places. I gave this salon a 2 Star because of their "eye lash extension service". I went to this salon for an eyelash extension fill which was $75 and looked really nice the night they were applied.  All of the extensions fell off within 4 days despite following typical extension protocol (no oil based products and keep dry for the first 24 hrs) Note, they were NOT extensions-the salon called these "extensions" but in reality they were simply glued on lashes!!!!! Complete rip off. I called and they said they would re-fill for free which I why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. But overall it was false advertisement and overpriced for temporary lashes. I called made appt was greeted at the door, told by someone pointing sit there next person came told to up front. That the last thing said to me by anyone until paid. Not one person spoke English only Vietnamese to each other it is no wonder the place was empty. The only person speaking was someone doing a pedicure and talk to her client. 4 other employee’s only spoke to each other. This shop owner should get his staff working together, cleaning the shop and should have clean supplies nail files were discussing,floor, tables, chairs and nail filing machines,no towels were on the tables. Terrible experience. I made the mistake of making an appointment which turned out to mean absolutely nothing. My mother and I both waited a ridiculous amount of time only to have our appointments rushed. My so called "manicure" lasted 10 minutes consisting of a file and polish application. I used to go to Nice One Nails (Orleans) and discovered Tropical Nails.. I went back to NON, read their reviews and decided to stick with TN! I am impressed with their overall customer service, professionalism and their paying attention to details. I go for Shellac once a month and I love it - always a happy customer. I am so happy that I came across Dana's Nail Salon! Dana is AMAZING at what she does and her staff is just as amazing! And everyone is extremely nice, helpful and hospitable. And I have never been to a salon that offers so much at a reasonable price....from chrome to all types of designs, to dipping powders, to basically anything your heart desires, they can do. They also offer waxing and tanning as well! Everytime I get my nails and toes done, the amount of comments I get are unreal! I have been and will continue to recommend Dana's to anyone I come across. I came to Dana's because the salon I usually go to was closed. I am only giving them 2 stars because my mother's eyebrows came out nicely and for taking us near closing time. My manicure wasn't really done with precise care. My cuticles looked just about the same as when I walked in. One thing I noticed was how old the nail polishes looked. I've been going to Dana's for about 3 years and they are my go to nail salon. I get gel every two weeks and they last the whole time. They have every color you could ever need and can do any style. They are very efficient and reasonably priced. I don't like spending hours at the nail salon, so this place is perfect for me. I pick my color, never wait and they can get you in and out in about 30 minutes. I get my toes done every month and it is very relaxing / lasts forever.They have had the same staff for years, so you really get to know them and they really care about the work they do. I was so impressed with Dana's Nail Salon. We had a large party of girls celebrating a baby shower and scheduled 7 pedicures with them for 8pm. When we arrived they had a person for each appointment which was great! They have seven pedicure chairs all in a row which is great for large parties. They are the only place I found online that stays open till 9pm. Our pedicures went long till about 9:15pm and they didn't rush us out the door. They were super helpful and friendly. I have been here about six times in the past four months. I like this place a lot. I absolutely love B, I don't know his full name, I'm just going by what was written on his smock. I had such a great experience today at Danas. My friend and I went to get a few services done. After telling Dana the owner what all I wanted, she gave me $50 off of the eyelash extensions since I wanted to get a few things done. We started out by getting the new jelly pedicure which felt so different but was awesome. While one woman worked on my toes, Linda took off my old set of acrylics. She was very gentle and kind. After my pedi and acrylic removal, I had the eyelash extension done. Linda worked on my lashes for a good two hours. She was extremely patient and nice. I am a fan of very long lashes and told her that I would prefer more layers, and she did so with a cheerful attitude. The radio played awesome tunes the whole time too. When I was done with the extensions, I had a gel manicure done. A younger man Bill did my nail shaping and color, and Linda came back to do the design. I loved my whole experience. First time because the one i usually go to was closed. It was OK. Im never coming back tho. They seemed to do the job in a rush. While i was getting my pedicure done they proceed to also start doing my manicure which for some people might be ok, but i actually enjoy taking the time while they do both separately... They do some type of massage once is done. Same in a rushed way.. They take the time on one hand and then they didnt even massage the other one. nails were ok but not perfect. for the price you pay you would expect to have the best nails in town. the owner seems rude. GO TO QUEEN BEE NAILS, is just a few blocks from there and I SWEAR IS THE BEST MANICURE IVE HAD IN MY LIFE!!  And my nail just chipped, not even 5 hrs after i got the gel manicure!! The women here are the best eyebrow waxers I've ever had! I actually started getting compliments on my eyebrows after I started going here. I come regularly to get them done and nowhere else - great quality and a great price. I've gotten a few manicures here and they're pretty good too! I got a gel manicure once and was given a coupon for a few dollars off on my next visit! Also there's a parking lot which is so convenient. I'd say the only downside is that there seems to be only two people who do eyebrow waxes and I never know when they're not going to be working. I've come a few times to be turned away because the waxers aren't there. It's not a huge deal I've just started calling before going in to make sure that someone can do it. I really wanted to like this place because I just moved in across the street and the location is extremely convenient.  Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I have ever had getting a fill.  First, the tech applied way too much acrylic powder, which resulted in a burning pain that lasted several hours.  He also did not give me enough time to dry under the UV light (was basically just rushing the whole process), so a few of them were smudged.  My nails look generally sloppy, and the one that needed to be repaired is way thicker and stumpier than all the rest.  It looks and feels terrible.  Then, I had to swallow my pride and pay a ridiculous $48 for this service (when it typically runs me $25-$30) AND I'm going to have to get it fixed tomorrow.  Definitely never coming back here. I brought my sister who has Alzheimer's here for a pedicure. She needed special attention and care. Jackson was very gentle and took his time with her. Thank you for such great care and a nice job! DO NOT waste your time and money at this salon. I gave them 3 opportunities to defy their previous horrible reviews and each time was awful (shame on me) but this last visit was the absolute last straw. I rarely treat myself to manicures and I recently started serving again so I figured it would be nice to pay the extra (which im now learning is overpriced) for a gel manicure so I wouldn't have to worry for a few weeks. The overall manicure was fine. It was done very fast but my guy was very nice and even remarked that the color I chose was the perfect pink for the spring. Not even 2 days later the color of my nails completely faded with distorted traces  of pink making my nails look fleshy and as if I had no finger nails. Figured it would be no problem to stop in and see if they could help me. I work 50 hours a week so I stopped in before work and showed them but told them I wouldn't be able to stay I would gladly come in on my day off the next day whatever time worked for them the best. Immediately told I could not do that. I was told that the day I come in to complain is the day I have to get the manicure re-done. It's not like I was asking to come in a week later and I was very kind and compromising about my options where I was met with utter resistance. I said I would gladly accept a refund. No refunds. So I was basically being told to deal with it. The woman I am assuming is Dana based on her attitude in the salon compared with the woman posting shockingly unprofessional responses to reviews on here quickly grew irate. She told me lighter colors fade quickly in the sun (2 days after a manicure working 2 doubles having no time in sunlight) still I gave them the benefit of the doubt and showed her my nails and explained the pink I chose was not very light and had someone informed me of these facts or simply not give light colors as an option I would have picked a different color or not had it done. As 2 days with miscoloring regardless of time sensitivity still exemplifies shotty work. Anyway she then told me to just come in tomorrow as if I was the one causing the problem. This is all I wanted to begin with. In an effort to half apologize for growing upset I tried to explain I was only confused because 3 other employees told me I couldn't come in. She proceeded to repeat herself for 5 minutes "ma'am I just told you I will extend it til tomorrow please listen. Your not listening." Practically screaming in the womans face whose nails she was currently working on. I gave up on trying to apologize and finally settled on a time to come in. After the fiasco I decided its not even worth it and didn't go in. With customer service like that AND the prices its simply unforgivable. You can turn a blind eye to one of those and still be ok but it's an overall poorly handled business. Shame because I always tip at least 25% Read Less

I went her by the suggestion of a friend and it was amazing! I just moved to the Boston area and was looking for my new regular place! I tried allston nails and wasn't overly impressed. My nails started to pop up in a week and chipped - I had gel nails. Unacceptable. I went to Dana's two weeks ago and my nails still look great! They did an amazing job on my cuticles and they were even able to polish a couple of my nails that were really short and it lasted TWO WEEKS! This is definitely my new regular! Read Less

I chose to go this salon because I went to their website and found a coupon for a manicure/pedicure. I was very pleased! The salon is very clean and the staff are friendly and talkative. I wore boots, forgetting to wear flip flops and the staff went out of his way to wrap me feet so my pedicure wouldn't be ruined on the way home. I will definitely be going back. Read Less

If you wonna be treated like a second class citizen then you should definitely visit them. Upon your entrance the ?Madam"" or the owner will check you out, if she thinks you deserve to be serviced, in a commanding tone you will be ordered to sit down and wait till some one will be available to help you. But if not, you will be sent on your way without any explanation what so ever. I guess you not good enough to get manicure or pedicure at this place. In addition the ?Madam"" insists that you schedule an appointment for whatever you want to do, and when you get there you still wait as if the appointment never been schedule. And believe it, it's not exactly Newbery street salons which are still welcome walk- ins. I used to go to the Dana's nail salon every time I was around, and yes it was spontaneous without appointment but so are the most of the clients there. But when I and my friends started to get ""the attitude"" we felt like may be it's time for a change. Ater all, we just wanted to be treated with a minimal courtesy. Is it too much to ask??? I've been going here for years, but recently the quality and service has been so poor that I won't be returning. Their french manicures and pedicures are awful and they don't understand when I explain what I want. They take too many walk-ins and then rush you through and now you have to pay extra for all the little things that were once part of their standard service. It's a shame, I really liked them.
