To all you Bostonians out there who stick your noses up to Dorchester, I say this:  GOOD, STAY OUT.  I selfishly need Plush (and specifically, Dana) to keep some openings for me.Are there cheaper places?  Yeah.Are there faster places?  Yeah.Are there better places?  Nah.They will take their time to do you right and you will like it.I have never had more compliments on my nails and have never had more beautifully clean cuticles before getting my nails done by sweet, adorable, thorough Dana.  Seriously--how many times have you gotten your nails done only to get home and notice that they are trimmed slightly lopsided or that the polish or gel is a little ragged on the edge?  Not so with Dana and Phoung!  I got my gel+acrylic done first and it seriously lasted perfectly for a full month.  I only had to go back because the new nail growth had gotten to be too much.  I am currently a week into my new gels on my natural nails, and they're still lookin FRESH TO DEF even though I am very hard on my hands.I've been back twice, both for reserved appointments, and have yet to wait longer than a few minutes before being seen.  Contact earlier in the week if you want a weekend appointment because they fill up pretty fast. Extremely over priced. The women, Dana, was kind, but took advantage knowing that it was my first time there. When I first came in, she had told me that it would be $20 for my visit. I came in here as a little acrylic nail baby. I had no idea how it worked or anything, and I'm sure I was asking too many questions and changed my mind too many times, but everyone here was so friendly and accommodating, even when I was late for my appointment. I am on a much needed vacation and did not have time to get my nails done beforehand. This salon is fabulous - the place is pretty and clean and the manicurist is meticulous. I got a gel manicure and a deluxe pedicure. My nails look perfect and all of the dead skin is gone from my feet. I highly recommend this nail salon. I've been going to Karen for my nails for over two years now! She is an incredibly talented Artist and very detail oriented person!She takes her time and makes sure everything is done to perfection.I'm an Artist myself and work with my hands constantly and my nails are in perfect shape when i go back every two weeks ,and if i didn't have so much nail growth ,I could have easily go every three weeks instead!She is very sweet and a very punctual person and a pleasure to work with..I live 45 min away from the salon and I commute such distance only because she is simply the best..Any negative review I see here about her simply does not make any sense to me ..as she is exactly opposite as the way the reviewer has described her ! This review is for the nail girls at Plush but more importantly for Karen!To start off I've never had a more gentle or long lasting pedicure than when Phuong does them! 5 stars to her.As for nails, Karen is by far the BEST in the area. Her schedule is very full but occasionally she does reopen her book for new clients. Going to her is a bi-weekly thing. If you're a girl who only likes to do your nails once a month, make sure you schedule with her before you leave. She has a consistent following of girls that come back religiously every 2 weeks. She fills up fast! I've had a basic gel manicure that lasts weeks until it's soaked off & now doing acrylic with nail art and am obsessed! She's so creative and I appreciate her services so much.Any negative reviews on here about her is probably from someone who picks at their nails constantly & no matter what, is never happy. It's also a little petty to describe someone by the shape of their face. Karen is one of the sweetest people once you get to know her. I have been going to Karen since I was 13 years old, & am now 25. I have followed her from previous salons. I will not let another nail tech touch my nails.   I look forward to my appointments with Karen. I book every two weeks. I usually prebook all of my appointments in advance because being in the beauty industry my self I know how fast a person so talented and professional who keeps clients looking forward to time spent with her books up fast! Every single picture I have ever brought her she has literally NAILED it! Usually with a better outcome than I could possibly have imagined. Her prices are excellent considering her undeniable talent for nail art. Not only is she talented, but very personable. I once texted her that I might not be able to make it to a nail apt due to me having a bad day and she insisted I didn't skip my apt. I listened after all I love my time spent with her and when I showed up she had a bottle of champagne for me and continued to cater to my needs and make me feel 100% better. Also our schedules tend to collide occasionally and she is willing to go in on her days off for me to insure that my nails are done. I love Karen! I will follow her for the rest of my life! Love this place- it has improved a LOT in the past year and a half so if you haven't been in a while definitely give it a shot! Awful!! I haven't heard great things about this place but it is a convenient location for me so I decided to give it a try anyways for my acrylics nails.. BAD DECISION, my nails started lifting 3 days after I had got them done, they weren't the shape I had asked for, my nails were uneven and bumpy, they were slow it took about 2 hours after running an hour late for my appointment. I had to go get my nails redone the following weekend.. I will not be returning to Plush Nails and Beauty Bar and I will not be recommending it to anyone else. Read Less

Not a good first impression.  Walked in one day as I was passing by.  It was first thing in the morning, so I wanted to take a chance and see what the place was like.  I did not have an appointment, but wanted to see if I could get a gel manicure as well as my eye brows done.  The lady said she could not take me, she was the only one working.  I understood as far as the manicure went....however, there was absolutely no one in the shop.  I asked if she could at least do my eyebrows and I was told no.  Glad to see they are into customer service.  I don't think I will be trying to spend any of my money here. I chose Plush to go to to get my hair, makeup, and nails done for my December wedding. The morning of the wedding at 9am, I took my 6 bridesmaids and mom to get hair, makeup, and nails done. Everyone there did a fantastic job! Gina did all the makeup, including lashes, which looked amazing until even after the wedding was over. She even touched everyone up as they left to go get dressed. Shaira did all the up-do's, as well as my hair and makeup, which came out perfectly. She even did a trial the week before on a day that the salon was closed. They stayed on our time schedule, went out to get us lunch, and made sure that we were all relaxed and cared for. I could not have been happier with my choice and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an intimate and relaxing place to be the day of their wedding or anytime. Read Less

I had a pedicure by Phuong. She was fantastic! I have been to the salon a few other times and have been pleased with the results each time but this was my first time meeting Phuong. She was very attentive, asked what kind of music I preferred and if she could get me anything to drink. I explained that I had some bruising on my legs and asked her to go easy with the massage. She really took her time and paid attention to detail. My feet and nails look and feel great! I can't say enough about how terrific she was and what a pleasant experience I had. Tristina is one of Plush's hair stylists and she is a consummate professional. I have only ever done weave twice in my life...both times with her. the Second time, just last night and for my wedding. She was so attentive, asked me a zillion questions to make sure I was comfortable with the procedure and the process itself since it took several hours. What makes a salon good is the people. Issa (I think that is how you spell it) is the best employee there. If your nail gets messed up during the drying process, she doesn't just throw on another layer of polish. She starts all over. She is also super easy to talk to. Great customer service. Ever since I moved to Boston 2 years ago, I've been looking for a good, professional place to get my hair done; and I finally found it! I've been here twice and had my hair done by two different people (I wish I remembered their names, but both were awesome.) In my last trip I had my hair washed, blow dried, and flat ironed a little, and eyebrows waxed, and was out in 1 hour and 10 minutes. My friend and I had an appointment for pedicures. We were told it would be about 10 minutes, but we waited for nearly 45. When we were both finally were seated, our techs were really rushed and did the bare minimum. My feet were only soaked for about 5 minutes total so it definitely wasn't relaxing or thorough. My nails came out fine, but I definitely would have rather gone somewhere else where I wouldn't have had to wait twice the length of the service. I might try Plush again because of its location, but my friend definitely won't come back. Read Less

I've been to plush two times since its opening. The previous nail salon was never open. I really like how the hostess/manager makes an effort to maximize your time. Me and my girlfriend were able to sit next to each other for our pedis and not have to chat over another customer. They seem to know if you want a 'spa' experience or the 'I need to be somewhere and need to be in and out' experience. LOL. Making someone wait for just polish change is no bueno. Read Less

I had a horrible experience here.  I stopped in and asked if they do Gel Removal, and I opted to have a manicure as well since they had OPI gel.  I saddled up to the beauty bar and the older woman doing my nails started filing.  And it started going poorly right away.  She filed one finger so hard she broke the skin.  And she barely filed any of the rest of my fingers.  Then she poured a bottle of acetone into a bowl and put my hands in it and held them down.  I could have done that at home; its not why I came to a salon.  After a couple of minutes she took my hands out and started trying to chip away at the gel - which was not coming off because 1) she barely filed my nails, and 2) it had been five minutes.  She didn't seem to understand why it wasn't working.  So I vocalized I wouldn't be staying for the manicure.  A couple other people came in and the receptionist was asking my gal if she was doing the manicure and I leaned back and told her no.  I don't think anyone read how miserable I was.  I was ready to walk out.  She hadn't done anything I couldn't have done at home.  Another 20 minutes goes by and she still hasn't gotten all fo the gel off.  At that point I did get up to leave.  The receptionist asked if I was staying for the manicure.  I literally just said that I wasn't staying, and hope I looked as upset as I felt.  I offered the receptionist $5 for services and I told them I was leaving because I was so unhappy, and the quality of work was really poor. She said it was $10, it costs $5 if you get the manicure as well, its $10 without.  I let them know that it also costs $10 at MiniLuxe, and they actually do a good job in about 10 minutes. She literally upcharged me after hearing how unhappy I was.I was excited when I thought we were getting a nice salon in Savin Hill, but this place just isn't.  It's loud, there are children playing loud games, staff doesn't seem experienced and they cut corners on services (gel removal would go much faster if they invested in cotton and foil - like every other salon).  NEVER AGAIN. I have been in Plush twice since it opened late August and loved it both times. Andrea, the manager at Plush is super nice and was very accommodating from the get go.  Phong did my mani/pedi and did a great job, a true professional who took her time and it showed on my nails.  In fact, I watched the other nail techs and they all took their time with clients. If you are in a rush, let them know!I also had my hair washed, blown out and curled by Shy. I am picky but it came out exactly how I asked and it looked beautiful, I got a ton of compliments on my hair thanks to Shy. I will gladly return. Plush is my new go-to spot! Read Less
