Mimosa is the best nail shop I've found in the area. They do a good job with nails, pedicure and eye lashes. I have been going there for two years. However, I also agree with the writers that they treat white customers more respectable than minorities. I rarely yelp anyone unless it's really good or really bad. I went in on a Saturday with my 2 daughters because my usual place was closed . It was packed. I asked how long and was told 15 minutes. More like 40. Everyone was told it would be a "few minutes". Not much room for waiting. My daughter's both got acrylics I only needed a fill. No one seemed to want to take me. Pedicures definitely got preference.Finally the woman in the first station, who I presume was the owner took me.  She was answering the phone and giving directions to everyone the entire time. It was very rushed.  I was moved 3 times while drying. They told both of my daughters they only took cash forcing them to use their on site ATM. However they took a card from me. My $17 fill wound up costing $25, still not sure why.The whole operation seemed shady to me. I would never go back or recommend them. Read Less

LOVE this place! No matter how busy it seems, I've always been immediately assisted upon entry.The nail technicians are friendly and SPEEDY. I'm in and out in under 90 minutes for a mani/pedi. So I had a super weird experience here yesterday.I work in the area so I stopped in to get a mani-pedi. I saw the sign outside that $25 but didn't realize that it says in small letters "monday, tuesday, wednesday" underneath. Oh well. My pedi and mani were fine, except that there were someone else's nail clippings on the towels they used on my feet and to put under my hands as they did my nails. It's the little things guys-- next time just get a new towel when a new person sits down. It made me wonder if the instruments were properly cleaned as well. Also, the technician cut my cuticle on my big toe so much that it started to bleed. That was odd. I have literally never had that happen before at a salon.When I finished with the mani, I asked if they were cash only and they said yes. They have one of those shady ATMs there that charge a crazy fee, but there is a Bank of America right across the street so I said I would run to the ATM. They said I needed to leave something there. Fine. Then, they asked me why won't I use their ATM? I told them on top of their fee, my bank also charges a fee so it ends up being 5+ dollars extra when I could go across the street and get money for free. Then, all of the sudden, they say that I can use my credit card. What?? I thought you are cash only? No. They also have a credit card machine but only certain people can use it. Huh? It's funny, I read a prior review that said they had a credit card machine that was only available for some people and its 100% true! It really rubbed me the wrong way and found it kind of shady. So, I found out the other day that my aunt (Oanh) does lash extensions here, and she offered to apply them for me. I chose to have the more natural set done with the single lashes instead of the clusters. The process took approximately two hours, and I am very happy with the results. The lashes mimic the look of real lashes. However, they look voluminous and super long!! The procedure costs around 100 dollars. Mimosa Nail is amazing!! Literally the best pedicure and gel manicure and eyebrow wax I've had in forever! After my original stylist left back to her country a few months back I've been going through the absolute worst when it comes to salons. This place is like a hidden gem right on Gallivan Boulevard. I was referred here by my step-mother after having yet another terrible experience from another local salon and 5 days into the gel it started chipping and cracking! I was OVER IT. Linda, at Mimosa nail, was so attentive and friendly. She took her time to ensure I received the best service. I love how they use the hot stones to massage during the pedicure service. I didn't even get a full week out of them, and they were a bit chunky at the tip. Other gel mains I've gotten else were have lasted at least a week and a half!!! It's $25 for gels but $26 for places on mewbury street that last way longer. But my pedicure looks great still. Read Less

Don't even bother going after work hours or on a weekend. It's mobbed and you'll wait a long time, even if you made an appointment. Minimal parking, though the salon itself is large. Seems clean and sanitary and everyone there is nice. Prices are competitive- try going on a mon, tues, or wed for $25 mani/pedi special. The main problem I have is the actual quality of the services. My manicure ended up with little bubbles everywhere and they got polish on my skin that they didn't clean off. I ended up fixing it myself at home. The pedicure was quick and not really relaxing. I went in mainly because I had some rough/dead skin on my heels that I wanted taken care of. They didn't really scrub or exfoliate much so it's still there. I don't like paying just to have someone paint my toenails- I can do that myself. They also ended up cutting my skin and it hurt pretty badly. Here's to hoping it doesn't get infected... Read Less

I wanted to get eye-lash extensions and picked this place randomly based off of yelp reviews. And i am so glad I got my eyelash extensions here, I LOVE how my eyelashes came out!!!!! Process was about 40minutes and i chose the non-natural lashes (they look pretty natural to me though). Not too exaggerated and medium length just wanted a fuller look. Great work for $45!! Depends on who you are, I suppose? Some folks they let use credit, some folks they make go to the atm. I think it has to do with the fees that the credit card charges them- but what about the fees that the atm machine charges the customers.? Either you take credit card, or not.
