I discovered Boston's Nails & Spa when I started working in the Back Bay, and it is my new go-to spot. Gel manis are my jam, and they do a great job - between constant typing at work and bicycle maintenance, I can't always say I am easy on my nails, but the job they do consistently lasts 2+ weeks (and the same is true for special effects like matte, holo, and chrome - I was initially nervous about the staying power of chrome, but I've had 2 chrome manis and both went the distance). Ain't no one got time for going back to the salon earlier than planned to fix a chipping or lifting gel mani, and that has never been a problem here! They are also more than happy to get creative with nail art or fun effects. Everyone at the salon is super friendly and helpful. Bonus points for gloves to protect hands from UV rays. The air has more acetone than oxygen in it. You will get used to the smell eventually, but my head hurt at first. I got a dip powder manicure and gel pedicure done here. I think a man named Danny did my nails. They looked really ugly. The nails were really long. I asked him to keep filing them down but it felt like he barely filed it. There were was cotton stuck on the acrylic nails and he painted over them anyway. When I asked him to get out of the nails that looked bumpy he used a tool that looked like pliers to remove the cotton strands and then just painted over them. This obviously did not leave a smooth texture. I wish I had taken a picture of it. He also didn't care to cut my natural nails down. So when I looked at my nails from the back I could see my nails as well as the fake nails. He used dip powder (in red) and because the color is so strong it dyed the back of fingers and a bunch of the powder was clumped into a hard mass under my nails. Didn't clean it, which I was waiting for him to do. When I asked him about it at the end of the mani he said it would wash away in the shower. It didn't. I had to pick at it as it felt uncomfortable. I had mentioned to the owner before I made the appointment that I was getting it done for my wedding. So I expected to get someone who knows what they're doing. Extremely disappointed. Got my nails redone from another parlor. Spent over $200 just to get fake nails because of these guys.The lady who did my pedicure was better. Got gel pedicure done. But she didn't scrape my heels which is the main reason I even get a pedi since they get cracked and dry. The gel nails were done well though.Not exactly the easiest place to spot. My girlfriends and I booked an appointment for a Thursday night at 730PM, and the salon was packed! They had many different color options, from OPI to CND, SNS powders.. etc. There was so many colors it was difficult to narrow it down. I settled for a gel mani ($33) and opt to have a basic clear to pink/purple ombre (an additional +$15). Everything looks very clean and nice, and service was great. My only qualm is that I had a few spots of gel over my skin but it's not too bad. You can pay with a card, but tips are either in cash or you can venmo. She was kind enough fo find me an appointment at short notice, she was attentive and took note of my wishes, she was quick to identify muscles that were in need of treatment and the therapy she gave was effective. I spent 3.5 hours (3:00 pm to 6:30 pm) to get a very bad gel mani (pedi was ok. For my mani, she didn't cut or file my nails alike, and she did a very very poor paint job, I have thick lumps and I will be stuck with this mani for two weeks. They were also in a rush to get me to pay before finishing my nails... They then argued that perhaps its an old gel layer that is causing those lumps (I checked my nails well before).Will not be returning. Sad because it's close to my home and I need a good salon. The women working here were very nice and I appreciated that they gave you a cold bottle of water upon entering. I walked right in with no wait for a regular manicure. However, there was a really bad smell the whole time I was there. I asked for square cut nails but they were cut into a weird shape with very sharp, uneven edges. I usually don't write reviews but this was a must ! As i stepped into the salon, i didn't have an appointment and was still greeted promptly by the receptionist. I came in looking for a nice and relaxing pedicure and was offered different kinds, as she was explaining she came across the hot stone massage and paraffin treatment and it instantly caught my attention! And that is what I decided to go with! As I sat down on the chair, I had jenny as my technician. She was so nice, kind and sweet. I was given a nice cold water bottle, which was very refreshing at the moment. I was given an option to choose what scent spa packages I want and I let my technician choose my scent and I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere is spectacular! Spotless and very well maintained. They have an amazing view of the marathon finished line. The layout is very nice and modern. As I noticed they used TUB LINERS!!! I was amazed and not a lot of salon used it. And fingerless gloves for the gel manicures, definitely bringing my girlfriend here with next time I come. My technician was very thorough with my pedicure . Definitely coming back ! I am a nail biter and my nails are basically non existent but Danny did an amazing job with my acrylics. I love love love everything about it. The shape, the color, the marble nail art. I love how their matte gel top coat is actually SUPER matte. I've been to other salons where the matte top coat isn't really matte. I just moved from San Francisco to Boston 4 months ago. Back in California, there were lots of great nail tech that can do crazy nail art and I was struggling to find any in here. However, when I was walking around downtown, I accidentally looked at the sign and decided to give it a try the next day. So, I come to this place twice already and very satisfied with all the results. The staff are very friendly and listen to what I want for my nails because I am very picky when it comes to my nails. I wanted to do blue ombre to my nails, but they told me that they never do that kind of ombre before and they said they're going to try. Then, one of the lady recommended Mimi to do my ombre nails. She's very detailed and have a great taste of colors. She listens to what I want and always ask whether I liked it or not. I think I'm gonna be a regular in this nail salon and Mimi will be the one who takes care of my nail. I would recommend her if you are a perfectionist person and you definitely won't regret it! Ps. Nothing bad to ever say about this place. When you walk in, you're immediately able to tell this is a high end salon. The decor is so modern and they greet you with a nice cold bottle of water. This is my go to place because my nails never chip, and the service is always great no matter who I get as a nail tech. At first I wanted an SNS negative space design but Jenny was honest explained that they couldn't do it with SNS but she can do it with gel.  I really wanted to get SNS because I wanted to wear my manicure for a long time but I really wanted the design so I change my mind and got the gel. Huge fan of this place! I've been here 3 times for gel manis and regular pedis. Each gel mani lasted forever and did not chip. I am extremely impressed with the level of skill each technician has. The staff is extremely friendly too! This is how nails should be done, ladies! The interior is nice and clean and their massage chairs are bomb. I am also a fan of their bio-seaweed gel nail polish, it's supposed to keep your nails healthier! Not sure if it actually works but hey, I'll give it a go for an extra $5. So far, no disappointments. How much do I love this place? I am sitting in my pedi chair writing this review while I am waiting for my toe nail polish to dry. I am in Boston for the week on vacation. I thought my pedi I got prior to leaving for vacation would make it. It did not. I did a quick Yelp! search for places nearby. This was the first salon to come up and had several positive reviews. I messaged the salon through the app last night and they responded quickly and my appointment was set for the next day. When I arrived for my appointment they greeted me promptly and were friendly the entire time. The salon is on the second floor of the building they are located in and easily accessible by stairs or elevator. The salon is clean, does not smell like chemicals or mold or bacteria is growing somewhere. They use tub liners in the pedi chairs. I got the Organic Spa pedicure and it was divine. The hot stone massage was amazing. The nail polish color selection was expansive and they were able to quickly locate the color I wanted. The prices are reasonable too. Tammy did a great job! I've seen this place when I walk around back bay and I've always wanted to try it. I have a go to nail salon that I go to but it requires me to drive there. I wanted to get a pedicure after work but I didn't want to have to drive to the salon and wanted a closer option that I could go to after work. I remembered this salon, looked at the website, and decided that I would give it a try.I called and was able to make the same day appointment for the time that I wanted. The place itself is very clean, bright, they had a great selection of colors. Even though I didn't get it done, I was very impressed with the color selection for the dipping powder. I get dipping powder done at my regular salon and haven't seen it in many places so I liked that it's an option for me to get it done here.I ended up getting a classic pedicure and it was great! As soon as I got there they had a bottle of water waiting for me. I liked that it was very sanitary with a new liner for every customer. The massage from my nail tech was nice, she made conversation and was nice, she applied the nail polish perfectly and I never felt she was rushing.All in all, I loved this place and would come back; the pedicure costs the same as in my go-to nail salon so I'll definitely come back here for pedicures since it's so convenient for me to come to! This is the worst pedi & mani I ever paid for $125.... I also was reminded of the price 3 different times, for a new style of chrome nails. To my disappointment it looked nothing like i thought it would. The polish on my nails immediately started to peel a day after I left. The polish on my natural nails was so thick that it looked terribly fake. I tipped both the nail technicians and had to return 2days later in order for them to fix the horrible job they did in the first place. They did accommodate me by trying to correct the peeling polish with them same polish again which I then did not want because the first job was so terrible. (Only my nails because my toes hadn't started to peel yet). Needless to say I ended up with a mixed match pedi and mani.... Again it was $125 and I only said that twice. Never Again! I deviated from my reg. manicurist b/c she didn't offer chrome nails. From the moment I spoke to the rude receptionist I had a feeling like things would not go well. I called 10 min before my appt to say I would be 5 min late. I was barked at to get to the appt as soon as possible and hung up on. You have to be buzzed up and take a nasty run down elevator to get into the salon. There was no welcome or friendliness, just a rude "sit down here" and "what do you want done". My nail tech was clearly young and inexperienced. I had her fill one nail and add an extension to the other. She put on the acrylic way to thick and I had to ask several times for her to file it down to match with my other nails, which clearly offended her. Her paint skills were poor - she had to redo the shellac more than twice after messing up. She sneezed into her hand and then grabbed mine to keep painting! Just disgusting! After the process was complete my thumb nail was bumpy and uneven - not a smooth chrome finish at all. I made sure to pay what owed prior to asking them to fix it. I even still tipped the nail tech. They were still rude and unprofessional and accused me of bumping my hand on the UV machine and that's why it was uneven, which was not the case at all. Fast forward to 4 days later and the red base is showing on ALL of my nails underneath the chrome. I called today Tuesday and the person I spoke to said that they told me the manicure would only last 3 days!! What a joke! $70 down the drain! This place is wretched and for BASIC services only. I'd been looking for a nail salon around Boston that offered liquid gel manicures at an affordable price. The few places I did find were rated on the lower end, so I decided to up my budget a bit and go to Boston's Nails & Spa. I'm glad I did, because this place was on point. I made an appointment over Yelp, and a receptionist responded to me within 24 hours - super helpful. Then that following Saturday, I headed over. Little did I know I was about to experience some of the best service in town. Their color collection is insane - TONS of gel, shellac, powder color, and regular polish. Plus they have the bells and whistles if you want to add detail - chrome finish, matte finish, iridescent, all that fun stuff. Those extras are an added cost, but that's pretty usual for nail salons.My nail technician was Danny, and I loved him! He took his time making sure my manicure was just right. He got my nails to the perfect length, applied the liquid gel with the utmost care and concentration, and finished them off with a proper gel polish. In the end, ya, it was a little expensive. But definitely worth it. For the liquid gel ($65) and gel polish ($15), the total was $80, plus tip. And how great is this: Danny let me tip him via Venmo!
