I came to Benefit with high hopes, but my experience wasn't a good one. While the ladies were friendly and professional, the work was extremely subpar. I had been growing out my eyebrows for nearly six months and came in for the complimentary brow mapping, to make sure I liked the shape they were recommending before any hair removal took place. There was no mapping. I'm not sure if this is an offer simply meant to lure customers in, but even if this is the case, a service should still be provided. In terms of the actual service, I made it very clear I didn't want the ends to be touched, but the ends of my eyebrows are now made of 1 or 2 stray hairs. I have been coming here to get brows done - it really depends who you get. Over the last 6 months quality has gone down. Also, tried a spray tan here recently - by far the worst one I ever got. I was orange for 3 days and then it just washed off completely. I have been spray tanning for 10 years and will tell you don't get it done here. They started spraying my face first! Who does that! You need to try on a smaller area first and then do legs. People at work asked if I was ill, haha nope just terrible spray tan job!One positive is that all the products they sell are very good. As far as Benefit boutiques go, this one is decently sized with private rooms in the back for waxing services. The displays are nice, with good lighting and a positive feel. Everything is hygienic, and the women who work there are very kind, knowledgable, and skilled at their job.Read Less

i've visited this Brow Bar and had the worst threading in my life. When i asked to correct and clean my own shape (which is thick and doesn't really have a big arch) they did give me a arch but they also thinned out my brows and actually overplucked the top of my brow which made a arch on the top, making it not a perfect brow shape. I'm never going back there. Now i have to regrow my thick brows back. Read Less

Highly recommend Benefit on Charles St for brows. I've been going to Michelle consistently for the last few months and my brows have never looked better. I've been getting tons of compliments!! Michelle really takes her time and makes sure you're on the same page. I always used to get really irritated skin after threading (and find it kind of painful)...that doesn't happen here! I just got my brows done this morning, but I had to write a review ASAP because I absolutely loved this place! My brows hadn't been done in a while, but Chantal did a great job taming them and very thoroughly explained the shaping process. The whole eyebrow + lip wax took just 15 minutes, and it didn't even hurt! The salon itself is very bright and cheerful, and all the girls in there were super sweet and welcoming. I ended up buying an eyebrow pencil, but don't worry--they're not pushy with trying to sell benefit products...I just loved it that much! Read Less

I have never waxed my brows before and was very nervous at 42 to start, although I knew it would make a big difference in my face and overall appearance. I happened to be shopping with a girlfriend in Beacon Hill and walked into Benefit on  Charles Street.  I was incredibly lucky to have Michelle take care of me for my first time, since she is so incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and a true brow artist! I left there feeling like a million bucks! So much so, that I brought my teenage daughter (who inherited my tricky brows) to see Michelle a month later. My daughter definitely  seems more confident, and Michelle really took the time to make sure the brow shaping was the most natural and flattering look for her face. It means a great deal to trust your brows to someone, but to trust your beloved DAUGHTER'S brows to someone means Michelle is someone very special.
