The place is in serious need of some cleaning, fresh paint/wall fixes and some wall decor. I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. Pedicure - chair massager didn't work, and the water sat still (what pedicure chair doesn't jet the water?). I asked to cut my nails down, she did them so short they are to the beds. The hot towel was barely warm. The massage was about 2 minutes at most.Got my toes done first and I thought I'd have a portable dryer for my toes while doing my nails, nope. Air dry it is then. Manicure - water to put my hands in was cold. I asked for warmer water and was met with a *sigh*. No conversation, so I talked to the woman next to me. Only plus was my hands were polished perfectly! Price was kinda high at $63 for both. Where I normally get my nails done it's about $65 - but that's with a hot stone spa pedicure. Although this is super convenient, I will not be going back. I normally go across the street to Jenny's Nails, but they were booked solid. I called Orange to see if they could squeeze me in for a pedicure last minute and they were more than willing to accommodate. Everyone in there was incredibly friendly and I think at least 5 of the girls working asked to hold my baby. I appreciated the friendliness toward my baby, as I was a bit concerned about how they would respond to me bringing a baby along. The staff did an excellent job, double checking that I was satisfied every step of the way. They even sent me home with the nail file and buffer they used (as they do not reuse them!) a nice touch. I was even more impressed with the way they dealt with the high maintenance customer seated next to me. I think she recruited every employee in there to get her chair to a position that was "just right" before she would begin. I felt annoyed for the people working there, but they didn't even blink (or roll) an eye at all of her requests. 30$ for a classic pedicure- not bad. Great value. Read Less

Wonderful service. I went in for a regular pedicure and gel manicure and they were able to take me early which I appreciated and the technician's attention to detail was meticulous. She asked me each time if I liked the polish and did not irritate any of my cuticles (something that happens quite often to me). My new favorite nail salon on the North Shore. Read Less

I have been to this place many times, I started by taking a little girl I was mentoring as a special treat.  The staff was always so kind to us even though we literally came in to get a polish change and spent almost no money.  Then I came in for a mani/pedi and it was fabulous.  Great service, super friendly, and I was a walk in!  Even though they couldn't get me in right away they worked me in.  I have never had a regular manicure last that long, and my pedicure is still going strong weeks later.  I loved how friendly everyone was,and that it took over an hour and a half which makes me feel like they took their time.  I will keep coming back. Terrible! Went for a mani/pedi, massage chairs were broken, cold water in the spa. They soaked my fingernails in acetone the whole time I was getting my pedi and weakened my nails. I couldn't relax during any part of the pedi because I had another technician trying to prep my fingernails. They scraped my nail polish off with their fingernails! To top it off they over charged. This was my first time at Orange. From walk-in to walk-out it was a great experience. It wasn't very busy (3:30pm on Weds afternoon) which was nice. The atmosphere was calm and the staff was very welcoming. It felt funny to me that on my first visit it wit like I had been going there for several years. I already made my second appt. Just left their salon 10 minutes ago. Second time in 5 years and I work in the Cummings Center. The first time I went, I was less then impressed with my pedicure. It was just ok and overpriced. 5 years later, I decided to give it another try as I had my lunch hour to get a quick shellac and my regular salon Hawaii Nails was booked. First things first, there was nowhere to place my coat aside from laying it over the back of a couch. This is why coat racks are created. Secondly, the charge listed everywhere was $30 for the gel manicure which is $5 more than I usually pay and get a great gel manicure and a lengthy hand massage. When you get to the register, the owner quoted $33. "Why $33?" She replies that because I chose to use an O.P.I. nail polish. What?? Nowhere on the website or the written menu does it state this extra charge. The technician did a good job on cleaning up my cuticles and shaping my nails, but the massage lasted literally 4-5 seconds per hand. There are no desk lights so it's hard to see what your nails even look like when you are finished. I will not be returning nor will I suggest this place to the many people I talk to on a daily basis who are already in the Cummings Center. Don't get scammed like I did. OK I read all your negative reviews and am thinking you either never have been to this salon or are full of s#@T. I have been going to Orange nails for 2 years and not one chip in my gel manicure and the girls are so nice. If they take too long they always knock off money and they are very accommodating. I would not judge Orange by these reviews. I tried 2 other salons in Beverly and they were no comparison. I can go a month if needed without a chip. They are gentile and never have ever cut me like most other salons. I am the pickest person when it comes to customer service and they are very nice to deal with. As a first time customer, I was disappointed. I didn't find the service very accommodating. I had to ask where the nail polish colors were. I was then surprised to learn that different colors and brands had different prices- I've never heard of this before and it was confusing. I always spend a little too much time trying to decide on a color. Picking one out makes me a little anxious- so many choices! So, you can imagine how off-putting it was when the color I finally settled on was OUT! I also didn't find this out until it was time to apply the color. My manicure was fine but a tad rushed. The stations are very bare-bones- there wasn't even an overhead light. I didn't feel especially pampered. My color and gel manicure came out well. I don't know where some of these glowing reviews are coming from, but my experience was anything but glowing. On a whim I scheduled two pedicures for my boyfriend and I. The scheduling process was easy over the phone, so I was hoping for a really professional experience when I arrived. This was so not the case. Getting there I noticed how shabby the place looked. It seemed like it hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks, and there was a ton of stuff just piled up. I was told to pick out a color from a very limited amount of nail polishes which were displayed in a really unorganized way on this weird multi shelved unit. When the woman came over to show us to our seats she never offered to show us where to hang our coats. My boyfriend left his on and I settled on leaving mine on an abandoned chair nearby. The man who works the register came over and literally picked it up and examined it, like running his hands all over it before asking if it was the technicians coat. When I spoke up and said it was mine he was like OH! okay I'll stick this over here. It was just awkward. The water was borderline cold and there was no jet action. The cleaning and shaping of the nails was decent, nothing special. There was no consistency with the pedicures. We both experienced something completely different even though we were both paying for the exact same thing. I got a bit of a massage on my lower legs and feet, while he got some weird toe-pulling. We both felt cheated out of the best part of a pedicure, which is the exfoliation and massage, which is detailed out on their website. I honestly thought we were getting the express pedicure because it was so quick. While we waited for my toes to dry we noticed the same technicians who had just rushed through our pedicures, were taking great lengths to do each other's nails. Right in front of us! I always believe in leaving a good tip, especially when it comes to stuff like this, but I honestly couldn't bring myself to leave a dollar. The service and experience was just horrible. I went to Orange a few times and had great service and great gel manicures. However, one time I went and my index finger chipped within 3 days. I went back and was very friendly and told them how that's never happened before. They were polite but I could tell by their service when fixing the polish (which took 50 minutes...) that they were annoyed I'd returned.  While I wasn't planning on it being that long, I brushed it off as a fluke. I went back a few months later and two of my nails chipped again within 4 days. I again went back, and this time commented how it had happened before and they were extremely rude about it- asking me what activities I'd been doing that could have caused the chips, etc. Like it was my fault!!! They offered me a refund because of my horrible experience if I took down my reviews, and then sent me a FAKE refund receipt. Dishonest. Here are the bullets of this negative experience:* I was told the most expensive, deluxe pedicure would take 50 minutes and include all sorts of scrubs, etc, but it was less than 25 minutes long. When I brought this up with the man at the front desk he said “that’s great, she finished faster”. If I had wanted an express service, sure, that would have been great, but I paid $42 for this pedicure. I received a cheap, express mall pedicure, definitely NOT a $42 service.* Even though I had made an appointment, I was taken almost 25 minutes late, while I watched employees giving each other manicures and pedicures.* When I said I was upset that they took me late, the man at the front desk laughed and said “just one of those days” and then “oh well, whatever, ya know?”. No, I don’t know. I’d rather be with my 18 month old daughter than reading this magazine that says “display until march 2010” for 25 minutes while your employees pamper each other.* I spent my entire pedicure swatting away fruit flies. I know flies are sometimes part of summer, but these were little fruit flies consistent with leaving garbage out too long.* My nail polish looked nice, but I left with my feet looking the same as I went in. When I leave Nails & Co in Swampscott, my heels are as smooth and soft as my 18 month old daughters!* I bet the décor looked cute and clean and modern when they first opened, but everthing now has a run-down, “nobody cares” vibe. Also, more than half the bottles of polish were almost entirely empty. The very bottom of the bottle is all thick and goopy, so they really only had 20 or so full-size bottles to choose from. Great experience. Visiting from out of state and needed acrylic refill for my nails and gave this place a shot. Remembering some previous experiences trying to get decent looking refills to last until I got home to my regular salon, I was a bit apprehensive. I was pleasantly surprised. Let me start off by saying I hate going to nail salons because it usually takes forever to be seen. So I really like the fact that Orange Nail Studio is adequately staffed, which is a huge deal in my book. I don't want to wait 20 minutes to be seen after I've already made an appointment. Also, they are very clean! They never use the same file twice, they actually gave me the file and buffer they used on me and if I bring it back I get rewards points. What salon do you know does that? I love it. I hate going to nail salons but this positive experience has changed my mind!I went in for a regular manicure,  and after a very short consultation, my nail tech V recommended a gel manicure, since it lasts much longer. I also love that they have a 14 day guarantee, and they also told me to come in if I'm not satisfied and they would be happy to assist me. The staff here is extremely nice and they make an effort to get to know you. By the end of my visit all the girls that I spoke with knew my name. They were also very polite, and complimented the color I chose. Which I didn't like at first but I am staring at it right now and I am loving it!  I especially love their rewards program! I went for a pedicure around 4:30pm and was excited. The place is super clean and organized, everyone is nice and professional. My toes came out great but I'm SO disappointed. I got home after running a few errands and realized that the bottoms of my feet are still so rough, almost as if they weren't touched. For $30 and then a 20% tip I was thinking they would be perfect. I had a trip to visit my boyfriend, and I needed some nail TLC before I left. I went and got a pedicure and also a manicure, with a full set of acrylics with gel on top. I've never tried the gel before.First off, the decor is very nice and welcoming. There seems to be a ton of regulars there, and the nail technicians seem to know everyone that comes in the door which is nice. They have a pretty good selection of polishes. The girls are very nice and attentive. I did not like the gel because the girl messed up the line so the white line was way too thick. It took like 30 minutes to wait for an opening, then it took about an hour and  half to two hours for my nails and feet. I like that they have an orange nail studio card, which if you get like 10 visits you get one free, or something like that. I haven't went back since I did not like how my nails were done and I didn't have time to go back to get it fixed. I would go back and try them again though. It was pretty pricey for what I received. I was looking for a local place that was affordable but also gave great results. I stumbled upon this little gem on Yelp and it had the most reviews and some happy customers posted their manicures. Upon coming in I was directed by the receptionist to the polish selection. He helped me pic out colors for my design when I showed him a photo of some nail art. The woman who did my nails didn't introduce herself. I don't think she spoke much english. She was speedy, careful, even a bit OCD on the detail (which I like because my nails look amazing because of it) and gave me a wonderful hand massage. I don't like going to the Cummings Center because the layout is nonsensical and it takes an extra 10 minutes to find businesses inside ghe buildings. However, this salon is right out front to the left of Acapolcos in the 950 building and easy to find if you can see the sign hiding behind a tree in the warmer months.I made an appointment for an express mani and pedi, and they took me a few minutes early which was awesome. The woman doing my nails was always asking me if everything was looking/feeling okay and she was very kind, asking if this was for a special occasion.  For about 36$ I have great looking nails!  She even suggested to put a bit of sparkle over one nail on each hand, and complimented the color that I brought with me.I don't get my nails done often, but the price here is extremely fair after looking up other prices at local salons, and the service was quick and thorough. I received a gift card to Orange Nail for Christmas and finally used it a few weeks ago. I went in for a pedicure and a brow wax.The pedicure was excellent, although I the atmosphere was a little loud, it was very clean and all of the staff was very friendly and attentive. I don't remember who did my pedicure but she did a very good job. The chairs were comfortable, a good selection of color and a nice pedi.The brow wax was not very good. The girl was very nice and pleasant  but a couple of things that were not good about the experience: First, she used the wax that requires a strip over it to peel - not that great and made the top of my eyebrows break out for over a week (and my skin is not overly sensitive). Second, and this was the big one, she waxed off my natural arch!! It was so bizarre, I was in shock. I have a very prominent, obvious natural arch and she waxed it right off! Luckily it grew back in a few weeks, but if you do go in I would just be sure to make very clear ahead of time what you want done. I thought it was obvious that I wouldn't want my natural arch removed, but I guess it's partly on me for not communicating that up front.Overall, still a good experience and I'll definitely go back for nail services. I go here religiously every 2-3 weeks to get my gel manicure. My Mom, Step Mom and Sister all do as well. The staff is AMAZING!! I just had surgery and I have had the same flawless gel polish on for 2 days short of a month! After the first time I went in they knew my name... they all knew my name, I was shocked! The pedicure chairs are amazing! They also have a rewards card. I have never been to a nail place where you not only get points for the money you spend that add up ti a reward but they give you a discount on the passion pedicure in the month of your birthday (I'm going tomorrow, on my birthday).Orange Nails is SO CLEAN! The best thing about this place is that the girls absolutely will not speak their foreign language in the presence of clients. I went to this place for the first time about a week ago. I got a spa pedicure which is the add on from the basic. The girl who gave me the pedicure was very informative about everything she was doing and using which is great to know. I def enjoyed my hour of luxurious pedicure for its value. They use everything brand new on each customer. It's nice to know that they are very clean and dont reuse products on other people. Once you go here you will never want to go anywhere else! By far the cleanest and most knowledgable salon in the area with the most friendly nail techs. They truly listen to the client and aim to please them, instead of going about their business how they prefer then sending you out on your way. They are extremely personable, and go above and beyond expectations. I've never been treated rudely or had the girls talking about me in another language like at other places.
