I am the queen snob of pedicures, specifically the massage portion, and all of the different products.I was leaving my car at a shop in Beverly and had a few hours to kill, so I wandered up to Nails & Co. It had been a few years since I'd been there, and I hadn't yet been to their new location (still within the Commodore Plaza, now just closer to Not Your Average Joe's). Came in and asked for the mid-grade pedicure -- not the basic, but also not the premium, and upgraded the massage +15 minutes for $15. The front desk attendant used a walkie-talkie (yes, the place is that big) to call Nancy (I think...) and tell her what I wanted. I was sent to pick a color, and then brought to a private booth where Nancy got to work. Water was warm, massage chairs were good, and Nancy was polite but not overly chatty (just the way I like it). A second attendant brought in a tray of products, each in a small porcelain dish, and a hot oil mini-vase being warmed by a tea candle. Very "spa", very tranquil. Nancy got to work and did a great job. The "spa" portion of the pedicure was great: warm towels, a scrub, a mask, lotion, warm oil, and 20+ minutes of massage on each leg/foot. I told her the balls of my feet hurt from wearing heels, and she gave extra attention there. I was guided to a separate part of the salon to dry my feet, which was a foot-drying-only area (very cool) next to an electric fireplace. The whole place was dark wood and luxe accents...chic chic chic. Even though it cost me $60, I felt it was well spent for a once-in-a-while full-on pampering sesh. Read Less
