I would like to give this establishment no stars. I have been going there for the about 5 years. I've never had a problem until now.
A week and a 1/2 ago I had fake nails applied for the 1st time in my life. The owner applied them, she was in a hurry and I remember feeling pain in my thumb as she was preparing my thumb for the fake nail. I had no idea it was going be a problem. Also the job was left incomplete.
Right away I was not happy with the job she did. It was the end of the day and I was in a rush to be somewhere. I knew I could easily come back and deal with it later. I did return the next day to have her finish the job that she started. When I approached her about the sloppy work she became very defensive. She debated with me that she was right and i was wrong. While rudely speaking in her language to her staff and coming back at me saying she was happy with her work she grabbed my hand and started to dremmel the thickness of the nail down and to fix the sloppy job. They looked much better but my thumb had pressure in it. At this point I am feeling uncomfortable and I wanna get out of there. The pressure on my right thumb was uncomfortable but not horrible.
By Sunday my thumb was really beginning to get really uncomfortable. The salon was closed so I had to wait until the next day. I walked in and asked her if she would please remove just that nail. She again made me feel uncomfortable as though this was my fault basically accusing me of being a dirty person. Over the next couple of days it became more uncomfortable. By Thursday morning I was at the walk in clinic and was diagnosed with cellulitis. The doctor attempted to lance it but the pus pocket had not developed enough.
I'm now on antibiotics, my thumb hurts badly, I have not been able to work for the past 2 days and tomorrow could be the same. I am a business owner and losing $ every day I'm not working. I went to her salon again last night to try to get her to own up and be responsible for her mistake. She came back with saying I had an allergic reaction, again placing the blame on me. She said she had never seen this happen before.
I have two questions for her; If I'm so allergic why didn't the rest of my nails not have a problem? And, if she had never seen this happen how would she know what an allergic reaction looks like?
So the outcome of the story is; she's a person without ethics or empathy and an irresponsible business owner. May she wake up one day.

This was my first visit to Belmont Nail Salon, and it won't be my last! Careful, gentle, and beautiful work done on my toes. I was relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend coming here!

$12 manicures, $25 pedicures. Best basic salon I've found in this area of Cambridge/Watertown. Friendly staff that speaks English. Busy on a Saturday. I got a fine, unfussy pedicure; my daughter got a manicure. I don't think this is the place for nail art, but my daughter might have gotten the wrong staffer for that. We did walk-in, not by appointment so she had to just go with whoever was free. Regardless, a fine manicure w/sparkle tips.I definitely recommend this shop. The price to quality was really good; I might bring my own favorite colors the next time, though; they had a quirky selection. * We did both find colors we liked *

I'm new to the area, so I was looking for a new nail salon that could do UV Gel extension fills on my nails. Luckily enough, Belmont Nail Salon was right around the corner. The staff was kind and the atmosphere was light, which was a major plus, though I was not happy with the end result of my nails. They were beautiful at first, but they ended up peeling off within the next week, which was a shame because I had high hopes. If I didn't have such a high need for the gel extensions, I would have gone back for a normal manicure again.

I've been going to Belmont Nail Salon regularly for many years now. They are very clean, efficient and super friendly. But honestly, they give the best manicures (I like the gel nails) and pedicures. When I travel and get a manicure somewhere else, I'm always disappointed and can't wait to get back to have Belmont Nails do them again.

Clean, friendly, and good polish job. Just wish the gal would have stopped commenting on how tiny and odd shaped my pinky toenails are. I know they are and I've hated them my whole life. But apparently it's pretty common based on what I've researched - plus everyone in my family has the same ones. Not sure why she was so distressed about it.

Dove was closed so I tried Belmont Nails today for a mani pedi, and I don't plan on coming back. The nail technician kept on turning around to watch the crummy TV program. First was a half hour infomercial, then this stupid movie--Casting Couch, which was about these guys who made a fake movie in order to get laid.The technician didn't speak english very well at all. I asked how much longer it would take if I did a gel mani instead of a normal one 3 times, and she kept telling me how much it would cost instead.As for my nails, my toes look pretty darn good, but my fingers could have definitely used a couple more coats.

I would like to give this establishment no stars. I have been going there for the about 5 years. I've never had a problem until now.
A week and a 1/2 ago I had fake nails applied for the 1st time in my life. The owner applied them, she was in a hurry and I remember feeling pain in my thumb as she was preparing my thumb for the fake nail. I had no idea it was going be a problem. Also the job was left incomplete.

I'm new to the area, so I was looking for a new nail salon that could do UV Gel extension fills on my nails. Luckily enough, Belmont Nail Salon was right around the corner. The staff was kind and the atmosphere was light, which was a major plus, though I was not happy with the end result of my nails. They were beautiful at first, but they ended up peeling off within the next week, which was a shame because I had high hopes. If I didn't have such a high need for the gel extensions, I would have gone back for a normal manicure again.

I've been going to Belmont Nail Salon regularly for many years now. They are very clean, efficient and super friendly. But honestly, they give the best manicures (I like the gel nails) and pedicures. When I travel and get a manicure somewhere else, I'm always disappointed and can't wait to get back to have Belmont Nails do them again.
