I had an awful pedicure. Being 7 months pregnant , I worry about getting an infection. I felt like the tools she used were not sterilized. She kept stopping to touch her phone, touched money with her gloves on and then continued with touching my feet. I just felt icky afterwards. They charge alot more than most places. I have been going to Zara basically since they opened so almost 7 years now. They are the only salon I'll go to.. I've only been to another salon one or twice since starting going to Zara and the only reason I did was because I was out of state for a wedding. I get a gel about every 2 weeks and a pedi every couple months. I also get my eyebrows waxed here. Gigi, Gina and Cindy are all amazing. Maybe it's just because I've been going so long but I'm not sure what all these negative reviews are about. I've never had an issue with the cleanliness of the salon. Zara is the best and I will continue to give them my business as long as I live in the area. Read Less

This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I know it is a family-owned business so I am sure no one cares about a negative review :-( I got the sister who wears glasses. I went in for a mani and pedi. I sat for 45 minutes in cold water while she talked on the phone. When she decided to get to me she continued to talk on the phone throughout my entire pedicure. She left my nails wrapped in tin foil throughout my pedicure. I spent an hour and a half in the salon and left without my fingernails or toenails painted because I did not have time to stay there any longer. The pedicure was the worst I have ever received. I truly believe she is not licensed to perform nail services. She did not remove any cuticle, ingrown toenails, or clean up the nail bed on my toes at all. She did minimal scrubbing and NO massage. She spent most of the time filing and then asking me to hold on a minute while she attended to her phone call. At the end of this hot mess she charge me the full price and told me to come back next week and she would only charge me $15 to add the nail polish! Additionally to scrub my feet she started to used a dirty metal foot scrubber and was huffy when I asked her not to use it. So, essentially I left the salon with my nails  looking worse than they did when  when I came in. If I could give its ZERO stars I would. Read Less

I couldn't disagree more with the 5 star reviews on this place - This facility DOES NOT USE STERIL TOOLS OR STERILIZE THE ONES THEY DO HAVE BETWEEN CUSTOMERS!!   I witnessed this myself !!!! and couldn't believe the board of health hasn't shut them down! They even re-use the cheap toe spacers for painting toes. They used the same, worn down nail file on me that they used on the client before me. The work space was not clean.Let this sink in:::::The same tools using to scrap someone else's toe nail clippings, cuticles, and toe jam ARE BEING  USED ON YOU! Wiping tools with towels DO NOT CUT IT! You can get Hepatitis, fungal infections, HIV (if they nicked someone and made them bleed) from scenarios like dirty tools at a nail spa.Ive been to other places before that open sterilized tools in front of you in a sterilized package,  OR they open BRAND NEW TOOLS, sponges, toe spacers, cuticle cutters, files and tools. Hand/Feet dryers were dusty and dirty. Seats looked like they have never been cleaned. The pedicure tubs were not cleaned and sanitized after each client; only drained, and immediately refilled.Anyone can do a good job painting toes and fingers but a good business takes the time to properly sterilize and clean the facility. I am not surprised a few reviews here got infections!!!! Wont be going back to this place, and for future mani-pedi goers look up the board of health regulations on places like this and know if your getting your money's worth or paying for exposure to a possible infection! I was hesitant to post but since I saw that someone else left with an infection I changed my mind. In January I had a pedicure and the women gouged my toe so bad and that night I couldn't get the stinging to stop. By the middle of the week I had a full blown infection and needed to be put on antibiotics. They do a great job with eyebrows but I will never return for their nail services. Read Less

Don't even bother making an appointment here. I made an appointment for a mani and pedi for myself and a guest for a specific time, and when we arrived on time, the two employees had just started on 2 other customers. After waiting 15 minutes, I had to leave and go to a different salon. If you're in the route 18 area, I recommend J Nails and Spa, hands down! Read Less

Went here last month because all of my co workers come and I've heard so many other good things about this place. The person who did my nails cut my cuticles to far down they hurt for days and two of my nails got infected. The nail polish didn't even look good! The pedicure was ok, wasn't the best that i had. The person kept nagging me about getting the organic pedicure which i repeatedly told them I didn't want. I just wasn't impressed at all. The polish looked funky and didn't even last a whole day. This place is awesome! I went there today for my second time to get a refill..Jenni does an amazing job ..she takes her time and makes your nails perfect. I love it here!! I use to come here all the time! I moved about 3 years ago and it was to far for me to go to Zara anymore, but today I took my mom who lives in Abington to get a pedicure and myself a fill. I love my nails and the guy who did them (I forgot his name) took his time and made sure they were perfect! My Mom had her pedicure by Cindy and is in love!! So good to see my mom relax a little! I think I will be coming back to Zara even though i don't live as close and make it a mother daughter thing! Also after 3+years GiGi (the owner) remembered who I was, that shows me a lot. Read Less

I went to this place for the first time today and I was really let down. I called and made an appointment for 11am. I didn't get seen till 11:50.. I would have just left but I needed one of my nails fixed and that is why I waited 50mins. The finished product looks ok BUT nothing great. This is an A+ salon.  I have a wrist/hand injury & needed to get my acrylic nails done.  I was a little concerned since I am still in moderate pain. The man who did them was kind & very gentle.  He did an excellent job.  I will definitely return when visiting my daughter again. Read Less

I looked on Yelp to find a new place to get my occasional pedicures. Zara had great reviews so I gave it a shot. The spa feel and the music instantly relaxed me. I was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff , got to meet the infamous Gigi when she introduced herself, and I liked being offered a beverage too. The pedicure stations were private and luxurious. Sanitation practices were noticeable and comforting. The pedicure was lengthy but in a very pleasant way. I was there to be pampered and sit in peace. I even closed my eyes for a little while and meditated. I enjoyed my experience tremendously. If I had any criticism, it would be a request for better ventilation with all the chemical smells from acrylics, but it didn't ruin my visit. I'll be going back. Read Less

For the first time ever, Yelp reviews let me down.  I wasn't going to post, but it has been two days of looking at my uneven eyebrows and dealing with discomfort every time I put on my shoes.The positives are it is a nice space, very clean, ok polish selection.Will start with the brow wax.  I should have know when she was still tweezing and trimming after 20 minutes the outcome wasn't going to be good, but never expected it would cause me to burst into tears when looking in the mirror.  I told her to just clean them up, I like a natural brow, NOT thin and over plucked.  Unfortunately, something was lost in the communication as I now have overly tweezed brows and even worse, they are noticeably uneven.  Oh, and I think she pulled some skin off to boot.As for the pedicure..the good is after 2 days no chips.  Unfortunately, the male tech dug so hard it's still painful and there are cuts where he was trying to pull the nail/skin and couldn't get a grip and imagine my ingrown nail is still there.  Also, I'm one of those people that doesn't mind the techs talking to each other, to me it's white noise while I read trashy magazines.  However my male tech (and this was the last time, the worst pedicures and don't read the I don't want to talk signals at all!) kept using my name, which is overkill after the first few times, and talked nonstop, weirdest was when he tried to draw me into a conversation about the show the "L Word"  which I told him I never watched, had no opinion and didn't sit around with my friends discussing.Anyway, glad there are so many people that like Zara but I won't be back. Other reviewers are right, this place is great.  Awesome pedicures (with hot stones!), great manicures and decent waxing.  All the ladies have wonderful attention to detail and work very hard.  They even have water and sodas for all their customers.  The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because they tend to be a little slower than I'd like.  Sometimes when I think I'll be in there an hour, it ends up being two.
