I loved this place, but probably not for the same reason as many others. I was in a HURRY. I had an unexpected meeting pop up. I saw they opened earlier than most salons. I was there at 8 AM, and I explained I’m in a hurry, I have a meeting at 10, and I didn’t realize how bad my toenails were until after I saw them in the shoes. I also explained I don’t really like to be touched, but due to a recent surgery I could not do my toenails myself. I don’t need, nor do I like a massage. I’m pretty direct and like to make myself clear, and I’m sure I came off as rude. (Which I wasn’t trying to be.) I told her I’d be happy to pay for a full price pedicure, but I wanted to be out the door in 15 minutes. As rude as I’m sure I sounded, she was very sweet and asked before she did anything, and was very mindful of my time. Another young lady came in and offered me beverages and fruit. Nice touch, though I declined. My girl was quick. And my toes looked great. The price was reasonable, (they could have charged me anything really, I’d not have known any better). The decor was nicely done, and I thought the place was cleaner than many salons I’ve seen. I wasn’t looking for a relaxing zen experience, I was looking for a specific job, and they did it beautifully. While the pedicure itself wasnt bad. My nails came out very bad. For their pedicure to be nearly $50 the very least I expect is proper painting. My toes were not shaped or filed and the polish is inconsistent and lumpy. Had I not had my grandmother with me I would have had them redo it but for the sake of not inconveniencing my grandma on mothers day I took the L. Also it was painfully obvious that they were talking about us in their native tongue. We were polite and paying customers so it was unwarranted. Needless to say, I will not be returning. They LITERALLY change the price every time you go in. Probably best to stick with one person if you must. The services are already overpriced as it is. I had nails redesigned for $40. I went back for the same thing and they said $100. When questioning this, the staff (guy) was very rude and indignant. Your hard earned money can be well spent somewhere else. Their talents are mediocre at best. Like you can't charge me $100 for average design because you offered me a water. It's a hood nail shop trying really hard to come off as "upscale". My level of bougie has limits. I'm refuse to be ripped off. I guess you would be paying to look at pretty decor because that's all they really have to offer. Read Less

My sister and I came in around 8:15 (45 min before closing) and we wanted two pedicures. I asked them would it be a problem if I got my nails done too. I decided to get dipped nails and round tip... while the pedigree felt great, it’s DOESNT LOOK GOOD. It’s sloppy, messy and I still have gel polish on my toes from a previous job. For a 50 dollar nail job it’s JANKY, the sides of my nails are exposed and the shape of every nail is different. Never again! Read Less

As mother of 5 it's not often that I'm able to treat myself to an afternoon of pampering, but when I do I do it right at Escape in Waldorf.  The salon ooozes SPA!  From the atmosphere, to the extra little perks like complimentary beverages, fruits, & snacks to actual hand towels in the bathrooms (more on the bathroom later in the review!!!) it blows other salons in Southern Maryland out of the water!!!  When I'm at Escape I am literally escaping from my world for an hour or two...I haven't been able to experience that same feeling at any other salon in this area.  Unfortunately the rest make me feel like I'm part of the herd of cattle, getm in and getm out!  The ambience at those salons is reminiscent of the salons you'd find in Walmart's.  Now you will pay a little more for this upscale experience at Escape...I've found they're about $5 more per service than other places...but since it's something I treat myself with only a few times a year I'm willing to splurge and spend the extra $5 to be treated accordingly.  Plus they've got the kick ass bathroom...those toilets I swear!!!  It's a combination heated toilet & bidet which if you haven't experience you really need too!  Enough about that!!! The only negative and honestly it's not really a negative but....The salon menu is extremely extensive so I suggest taking a look and deciding before you actually get to the salon.  The girls are excellent at suggesting / recommending add ons (neck massage, paraffin, hot stones, etc) so your standard pedicure for $35 can quickly jump to $70 if you're not careful!!  Now I'm in no way saying they're are pushy or forceful but they are good salesman and they do suggest adding on treatments & extras..."are you sure you wouldn't like to upgrade to the lavender pedicure for only $10 more?  It includes paraffin wax & relaxing scented scrub?!?"  It's very tempting and they make suggestions for all treatments so upgrading $10 on a pedicure and a manicure can quickly blow your budget if you aren't careful!  Bottom line if you're looking for a real spa experience look no further than Escape! I really like the salon decor. Elegant and clean. Now it did take me awhile to fall in love. I went thru various techs here until I found the "one". Vinton is the best. She is perfect at dip powder. A PERFECTIONIST like me. You will not be disappointed. By the way, I should mention too that Sydney does an awesome pedicure. The worst manicure I have ever had in my life. THE WORST! She rushed through the manicure, she didn't cut the skin around my nail bed, and she rushed and rushed, and to cap it off SHE CUT ME LEAVING ME BLEEDING.... NEVER AGAIN... Nasty practices.... been here once will not go back ! They hang towels outside the back of the nail salon to dry. Then reuse it . Nasty Nasty Nasty!!! I went to this nail salon because they are close to my house but I will NOT be going back or recommending it to anyone. When I came in it was like none of them wanted to do my nails , they had me move seats 3 times, after over an hour of getting my nails and toes done and $102 later they looked awful. All of the recent reviews are spot on. Unfortunately, I still went because they were one of the only nail salons open late. My pedicure was mediocre. The technician rushed through everything. A woman came in after me and asked to be excused so that she could go out to her vehicle and grab her pedicure shoes. The technician said something in Vietnamese about the customer when she returned, not realizing that the customer was bilingual. The customer quickly corrected the technician. Very poor customer service. Once it was time to get my nails done, I requested a short full set with gel polish. The menu said $45 and up. The technician tried charging me $60. When I asked him why, he and another technician said that $45 is just for clear polish. No where on the price menu did it say that. They are trying to nickel and dime people for basic service and they are incredibly rude. Read Less

This Thursday was my first and last time experiencing this nail salon. I went there for a basic pedi and full set and left spending $175 (the most I ever spent). Julie was very forceful and pushy and rushed the technique of what SHE wanted to do. I asked for a basic pedi and she took it upon her self to do a more extreme pedicure with gel without even prompting the pay difference. While doing the pedicure she asked what nail shape I wanted for my hands and I said square was fine, mind you I told her beforehand that I was there for the most basic nails. My full set ended up in a coffin shape with gel and she constantly kept hitting my hand to relax not recognizing that the nail clue made my fingers stick together. The coffin shape was so inconsistent (see pic). It is now 2 days since my service and one nail has broken off. The lowest quality nail job I have ever had! The only reason why I gave this place two stars was because she made sure I had water and fruit. When I was time to leave I paid with a gift card and her entire attitude changed. She got real snippy and walked away while I was signing the receipt. No wonder the customer before me tossed her tip at her without saying anything. Read Less

I have been coming here for probably close to 10 years for pedicures.  I only get pedicures two or three times a year but this place is very nice and keeps me coming back.   They are always very friendly at the front desk and I'm usually helped right away and don't have to wait.   They take walk ins one hour before closing time.I like that they offer something to drink...water with fruit and ice or lemonade.  The cheapest basic pedicure is $30 and go up from there.   I often choose the Sugar Scrub pedicure which is $45 and includes callus treatment.   I like that they have a little timer to make sure you get the appropriate amount of time spent on you. Each minute is one dollar.  So if you spend $30 you'll get a 30 minute pedicure and so on.   They have numerous walls of colors to choose from and it would take forever to even look at them all. They kind of almost have too many choices in my opinion.  I feel like everything is clean here and I see them open new tools for each customer.  They also liners for the pedicure tub's which I think is very nice because you know it's fresh and clean because everyone gets a new liner.   Like I said...I've been coming here close to 10 years and I will continue coming back.  I've never gotten any other service so I can't speak for anything other than a pedicure. I came here while I was in town from Florida. They have an extensive pedicure menu, free drinks and a very nice atmosphere.They did a very good job on my eyebrows.My pedicure was great and I asked for French polish...it came out OK as she did a white line straight across instead of with an arch which is what I tend to like more.I had a fill in with gel polish...also with French. Same problem...she went straight across with the polish which looks very silly. I asked her to please arch them and I really should've just left it how it was. It does not looks great at all. Some white is too thick and some too thin and just very universal on my hands.After all was said and done for eyebrows ($15), Pedicure ($45) and Fill ($55) I ended up spending $115 BEFORE tip. That's insane. In Florida I pay $70 for the exact same services before tipping and they do a better job here...every single time.It was nice spending a day with my sister in law and the atmosphere is great but I don't think I would make it a point to make another visit when I'm in town. This place is pricey but awesome and good for when you really want a spa experience and not just your nails done. I have my "go-to" techs that I like more than others. Only complaint is the process to select nail colors. The lighting is low in the room making it difficult to see and you literally have to select from the powder and nail polish bottles. They also dont have exact matches for the gel. I am accustomed to places having a numbering system and painted nail samples to choose from (at least their gels). This is extremely frustrating to me and I wish they would change this. Selecting a polish color is already hard enough...otherwise, great place. Read Less

I just want to first say I love the owner but I feel like she over charges way to much. I was getting a full set and I picked out this cute color and then when I picked it out it only had a little in there. Instead of informing me this he just proceeded. He does my acrylic and when it's time to polish it's very chunky and just not cute at all plus this was my birthday. We told the owner and she said come the next day so they can fix it so I did. When I arrived again I waited several minutes and I come to find out she was getting the same guy. I told her no and then she polished them and Bunny did the design. Came in. Was asked if I wanted anything to drink. Got a bottle of water. Got my gel color. All I wanted was a stone massage pedicure. Got in the chair and was immediately asked why I didn't want the cucumber massage which was a little more in price. Which I said sure fine it sounds great. I had to asked for the water temperature to be a little cooler. It was then turned to cold water.I was then told the gel polish would be $30 extra. No thanks I will use the regular polish. I was then told it would be $10 to remove the previous gel polish I had. I was fine with that. She walks away and comes back to the water over flowing from the foot sink. Looks at me and says why didn't you tell me. Had the faucet head been on right and not just thrown in with my feet I would have heard the water going. There were two white customers just seated to my left. They were served beverage in a glass. I asked the young lady closest to me what were they drinks she simply replied water and looked down at my bottle of water. The nail tech says oh you want a glass? I replied no and proceeded to tell her I would like to just pay for what she had already done. I just couldn't spend more than $10 in this establishment. I pay with a card and she tried to swipe my card with wet gloves on and when she finally gives me my card back she just slaps it on the counter.
