Sorry to say, but my friend and I went here. I had a pedicure and she had a gel manicure. My pedicure was not great.... the heel callus scrubbing was poor... I still have rough heels....  and the paint job was poor in that she didn't pain my whole nails... big empty patches on each side of most the nails. My friends manicure was not good either. Bubbles in the gel that she pointed out and they wouldn't take care of and they covered her cuticles with the gel. Will not return to this establishment. Read Less

I can't begin to say how much I now love this place because I discovered of a talented sweet lady called Nancy. Prior to that, I would visit and just go to the next available Technician and my nails would be a hit or miss. Now it's a hit all all levels. I always get neat, well polished Gel manicure and regular pedicure. She takes time to ensure that your please before you leave. I'm lucky to find a gem close to my house. Read Less

I usually don't write reviews but this was the worst mani-pedi I've ever had. The lady that was doing my nails seemed to be in a rush so she gave me multiple cuts on my toes while cutting and filing my nails. She did a very sloppy job applying nail polish. On top of that my manicure did not last even a full day. Do not recommend this place! Read Less

I went to this nail shop because it was conveniently located by my apartment and I was in dire need of getting a fill. Since I didn't have time to go to my normal shop I decided  to take another chance on this place. My first time going I only got a pedicure which was subpar however I try to give businesses a second chance before ruling them out.  Anyways I went to get a fill not only are my nails snapped horrible but the GEL nail polish started to chip less than five days later. I have been going here for several years. They do consistent, no-nonsense work. The staff are welcoming and collegial, even looking out for you when you park your car in the metered lot and reminding you about putting quarters in the meter. The only, and I mean only, slightly negative experience I had there was one time a new technician took a lot longer to do my nails than I had budgeted for and I had to cut the service short. But I've been making appointments with sweet, patient Nancy for the past 6 months or so and I think once a technician knows you, you both know what to expect. Read Less

Love this shop. I have been coming here religiously for 2 years. I usually see Nancy for my full sets and spa pedicures. There are cheaper salons in the area but nothing compares to the quality of service and comfort of this salon. I reccommend scheduling an appointment on weekends though! Read Less

I only come here because it is on the same block as my apartment and I can be out my door and in the salon in literally 3 minutes.  I really really want to like this place but unfortunately it falls short.  Let me start with the pros:-The most affordable in the Wheaton Metro area.  $25 for a gel manicure and they do not charge for gel take off!-They put gloves on your hands without fingers to protect your skin from the sun lamps during gel manicures.  No skin cancer for me!-Large gel color selection-THEY ACCEPT TIP ON CREDIT CARDS!!!  I cannot tell you another salon that allows this!Now unfortunately the cons:-DO NOT COME HERE FOR PEDICURES.  I got athletes foot here twice.  Clearly they do not have clean tools.-Their manicures are sloppy.  I wish these ladies cared and spent more time paying attention to detail.  The paint application is smooth, however they are very rough around the edges.  They paint your skin or don't put paint all the way to the edge of the nail.-The regular nail polish section is small and only have a select few OPI shades.But I guess you get what you pay for here.  If you don't have a formal special occasion and just want low maintenance gel nails to last 2-3 weeks without chipping for a cheap price this place could do. If you ever decide to get your nails done here at UNail, please do not use the technician "Tina", This woman is very abrasive and rude with a don't care attitude. She will refuse to complete your nails if you question her. There are a couple of the staff at this shop who has the same personality as Tina but I do not know their name. We're always on the lookout for a new nail place near the house, but U Nail will probably be somewhere we'll only go in a pinch or pressed for time. We stopped in one day for a mani/pedi after seeing the shop numerous times on our walk to the metro. It was near closing but the owner suggested we come come back in 30 minutes. We decided to go the next day when it was less busy, and when we arrived she remembered us! The place was very clean, all the techs wore gloves and repeatedly washed hands and tools. Hygiene is clearly important here. We were promptly seated (but not next to each other... such is the life of same-sex male couples sometimes), and our techs went to work,. Very friendly and conversational, they offered beverages and warm towels for our legs. We obliged. I had to prompt for a clear coat on my toes and nails, where almost every other shop I've been to it's been offered if not color as well (I like to be fancy too!). Service was quick and professional so no qualms with that. The shock came at the ring up. The posted price list was $28 for the combo, but there was an additional $10 charge for the towels, which I've never run into before. Had we known we would've declined. This wasn't on the price list, and I didn't feel like arguing, so we just moved on. As I said, everything about this shop was above par, but the price differential at the end was an unforced error that could've netted another star. If you live in Wheaton, this is a perfectly fine nail option. We'll probably continue at our normal nail place unless we're super pressed or they're full. Read Less

The "U" stands for u better just do ur own nails and pluck ur own eyebrows. The ladies were nice enough and had great rapport with their customers. They were even on the look-out for meter maids giving out tickets in the parking lot.The mani/pedi and threading, though, left a lot to be desired. The technician rushed through my nails so the color was patchy and uneven. She smudged my big toe trying to remove the toe separators and get my flip flops back on and proceeded to haphazardly slap on more lacquer despite the gauging hole.The threader left so much hair I feel like she just went through the motions and I had to go to another salon to get the job done.  I'd only give one star but they were nice. I just went here for a French gel manicure and my nails look so bad I want tocry. The sides aren't even filled in and they had toput a silver line over the white because the outline was so jagged.  They also put way too much white and it looks like half my nail is white and the other half is clear.  The biggest waste of money in my entire life.
