Bad customer service I showed up at 1100 am no one greeted me, after I got someone attention I asked how long before i would be serviced, i was told 20 minutes . Thirty minutes later I asked how much longer and i was told another 20 minutes employee was in traffic. I waited another twenty minutes and asked once again and never got a response employee walked away. Never came back to me i went up to her and was told it would be another twenty minutes. I wish there is 0 star. they deserve a huge 0 ..their customer service is so horrible. when I got to do my pedicure the lady on reception give me a seat where i can get my pedicure done and I was literally waiting for my turn to get my pedicure and one white lady who came after me was privileged and given a priority to get done with a Pedi. I went here to get my nails done for the first time; the lady who did them (don't know her name) did a really good job, but she did not really ask me what I wanted before doing them. I suffer from really bad anxiety and I was stuttering when I was trying to explain to them I wanted a full set of white acrylic nails. I guess it's my fault I should have know more before I entered? But regardless she should of asked me to clarify. She gave me gel, which is why they were so expensive. Again, they were done nicely, but it was clear they were doing whatever they could to up charge me. I ended up paying $45 for the gel nails (not knowing that they were gel until my friend brought it up to me when it was done), and was shoo'd away after I gave them the money. Been going here for months, they completely lost my business today. One of the three technicians I wait for was completely open and while I start soaking my dip-powder nails off, she proceeds to start an entire set of acrylic nails on a costumer that came in after me. I was told she was just setting them up and 33 minutes after soaking my nails (never takes that long) I say “gotta head out” just for the manger to proceed to be rude. I didn’t even complain! Not until she started raising her voice because I didn’t want her to do my nails. $5 later and a show for the shop, I walked out for the last time. Horrible experience I would not recommend this establishment. The owner was extremely rude even going so far as to telling my 7 year old cousin "you need to get eyebrow done." Overall the customer service at this place is really bad. The manager/owner, Tina that many people like is pretty rude and they often over book appointment times. I've waited 30mins or longer after my appointment time before being serviced. I always call ahead of time to make an appointment and I would said say half the time they don't ask me my name or what service I want. I'm thinking that means that they don't always make a note of appointments and therefore, are not prepared for several people coming in at the same time to see the same nail technician. I'm not sure what the refreshment policy is either. The website and some of the pictures on yelp will have you believe that you can get a complimentary glass of champagne or soda at each appointment. This is just not true. Sometimes there's a lady walking around with refreshments but most times there is not. There are a few good nail technicians and they do have a lot of color options to choose from but honestly, once I find an alternative in the downtown silver spring area, I will be moving along. I found out about this place via a co-worker and fell in love with their Instagram feed. I could tell that they were very well up to date with all the latest trends that your average nail salon wouldn't have or wouldn't know how to do well. I'll speak on my personal experience. I arrived at around 10:05 AM on a Thursday. There were 2 nail technicians there. One was doing a lady's pedicure and the other serviced me. I asked for a soak off, manicure and a  full baby boomer set with the fairy acrylic powder and maybe a bling nail. Lyly started my soak off right away and came over twice in the hour to e-file the acrylic that was disintegrating. Pretty standard procedure. It was this time that I really got a chance to look at the shop and I must say it's gorgeous. It looks very upscale and is quite clean for how many stations are there. After my soak-off, Lyly asked me what I wanted (and this is that part that made me feel like I was in good hands). I told her what I wanted and she said while she could do it, Tina was the one that I really wanted. To me, that was a good sign that they wanted me to be pleased with my work instead of just slapping something down. She told me Tina would be here in 20 minutes, offered me a beverage and went on to other customers. As I'm waiting, the salon is getting more customers. Tina comes in and we exchange pleasantries. I tell her what I want and she agrees. Tina works very quickly and hastily but it didn't impact the quality of her work. I was kind of irritated how fast she was going but then I remembered that this is a large salon where they aim to see as many people as possible. She asked me how long I wanted them and what shape. I asked for them to be a little longer than I knew I wanted them because I hate when my nails are shorter than I like. Well when it came time for her to file them into the shape I asked if she could make them shorter. Do you know that she raised her voice and slammed her hand on the table?! She scolded me like a child because she had to reshape the thickness of the nail with the e file. I understand her frustration but I explained to her that if you cut them too short you can't add back length but if they're too long, you can cut them down and reshape to get the desired thinness. She said some other things but she did reshape my nails. I was not happy about that but she made sure that it was the length I wanted and shape and did it with a smile. The whole process maybe took around 30 minutes. I washed my hands and met her and the bling area and she applied the crystals with builder gel so that it wouldn't budge. I have been getting acrylic nails on and off again for a long time and have studied what makes a nail last. There must be enough thickness in the stress point of your nail so that they won't break easily. However, doing that and still making the nail look relatively thin can be hard for many techs. Tina was able to do both well and I think that this set will hold up very well. That's one of the main reasons I'll be returning. My total was 80. 60 for the full set. 10/per bling nail. I thought the price was pretty good considering that it's not a basic full set. There is colored powder and gel top coat over my nails. Aside from her scolding me, my experience was pleasant. I will be returning here  because the price was good, the variety of styles are endless and having nails that are on trend but are still strong is very important to me. You have to go around the corner and use mall bathroom. I had just finished getting my pedicure and I had another 30 minute wait before my nails were going to get started. The quality of service at this place has degraded significantly over time. I've been going here for some time now, but today, unfortunately, will be my last time.  Tina, the manager, used to be one of my favorites but she is incapable of handling her job and pleasing her customers. She's become rude and her work is below standards. Today they were some what busy. After my pedicure, it took almost an hour to get to my nails. I sat patient although 4 other women that came in after me were almost done.  When Tina started on me she was also working on two other women. She rushed through my refill. She buffed each finger so fast and hard that it hurt. My nail bed is lumpy and the color fades towards the tips. The tips are not almond shaped as I requested and they were rigid. So rigid that I scratched myself and had to buff it down myself. The nail length isn't the same length as the opposite hand. I left the salon with nails that looked a month old. When I approached Tina about it she just snapped at me. Maybe because I already paid and she just didn't care. I pointed out the flaws and she said she could fix it but after 2 1/2 hours there, I didn't have time. She then loudly said 'Since you don't have time, BYE!  You can go now!' I asked for a manager and she said 'I am the manager, this is my shop!' I said is there someone over you I could speak to because your attitude isn't necessary. She continued to yell at me stating that she's 36 years old and she doesn't have time for this.  She really doesn't grasp the concept of conflict resolution without causing a scene. The other unfortunate thing is that this isn't the first time I've had bad service here. I just felt compelled to finally write something about it because of the lack of accountability from "management". I've witnessed her being snappy to other customers and condescending to the staff. Not all the staff are on the same level. Their top techs are Nicky, Tina and Tommy. But they are always booked.I came in, 3 of them are busy and I got no time to wait so I try someone else in the salon. The pedicure was great...then I let her do my ombre nails. Everything seem fine and then she filled my nails, then she nipped me! Minor cut so it is not a big deal. The nails she did are not the same as how Tina, Nicky or Tommy shaped them. I would not recommend her for nails. Her name is Louann on the apron.The whole perfect trendy nails picture fall apart when she do my eyebrows...she made one big one small. My eyebrows are never like this when I go with Nicky or Tommy. I am a easy person. I am not happy with the service. I told TINA what I wanted when I arrived at about 6:15, I was quickly put in water but did not get started until a little after 7:00Firstly, the decor is beautiful! And they do use fresh tools. Unfortunately after that, it goes down hill. I should've known better when the lady beside me was complaining and when I looked I honestly knew she had all reason to. I just HOPED my tech will be better! The only thing "Trendy Nails" care about is getting better in and out! They're no different from any other nail shop in the area do NOT let the beautiful decor fool you! The guy that did my toes did a decent job! The art work is out of this world beautiful but the customer service is the WORST! The owner Tina is nasty (smart at the mouth), argumentative and arrogant. She changes the price base on how she feels about you that day. I loved my designs when I got them done there and (I have been 6 times) but I REFUSE to take the disrespect. Not once had there been a time that I have gone and not had to encounter hearing or being in an argument. This is suppose to be a place to relax.-NOT!!!!
