First off I have to say WHY didn't I come to this place sooner. My usual nail tech recently took a sabbatical and I was not happy with her sub.  I've seen the sign for Nancy's Nails for years and was just apprehensive about going. However one day a couple weeks ago while in the drive-thru of the bank I noticed the bright yellow sign and said I would check it out. Oh, I am so glad I did. I called Nancy's earlier in the week to make sure they took walk-ins and to ask what time would they take their last appointment.  I was instructed to call before I came on that day. On the day of my planned visit I received a call from a woman I now know was Nancy, asking if I could come the next day. I informed her that if she could take me in about an hour I could see her then and she agreed. When I got there, I was her only appointment at the time. I'm not sure if it was due to the wind storm or just coincidence.  In anycase, Nancy immediately set me up in a chair for my pedicure. I soaked for about 8 minutes before she got started. Not only was Nancy personable, but she was polite, engaging and not afraid to answer my questions with regards to other salons. I not only enjoyed the conversation, but I appreciated her honesty, attention and overall customer service. A trait that is not valued or upheld in most Asian salons. The shop is clean, bright and welcoming for a small storefront. And Nancy makes sure that all the utensils she uses are sterile and clean. I was reminded of my dentist office when she opened the pack of utensils she would be using on my feet.  I also appreciated the fact that she did not do acrylic nails and told her she didn't have to apologize to ANYONE for not providing that service. As a small business owner myself it's important to be true to yourself and your beliefs. I really enjoyed the care she took with my feet along with the massage at the end. My feet felt pampered and soft and my toes had a nice shine to them.  I also received a manicure as well.  I am more than satisfied with the service I received from Nancy and I look forward to my next appointment. I love this place. A friend told me about it several months ago but told me I had to make an appointment. After going once, I could see why you should make an appointment. The owner does a lot of the appointments herself. The good thing about making an appointment is the owner is very accommodating about the time. Once, she let me make an appointment for 7:30 am and I have never had to wait when I had an appointment. My gel manicure usually last 2 weeks which is long for me. My nails are generally so brittle that the polish will chip after a week.  She also does an amazing pedicure and is very reasonably priced. After going there one time and having a great manicure/pedicure experience I decided to try their waxing service. I got a full Brazilian for $30! The owner was very professional and accommodating. I just got my very first pedicure at Nancy’s and I’m very happy with the entire experience. It was tough trying to find a good nail salon in the area and I decided to check Nancy’s out. I walked in without an appointment and it wasn’t very busy at the time (2:30ishpm). The location is a bit snug but there is also a downstairs area as well. The main salon I believe is on the top floor. I was asked what I Service I needed and was immediately attended to. The lady asked me to pick a color and then began to prep the seat for my pedicure. There isn’t a huge selection of Essie polish but I found a great burnt orange that looks fantastic on. The lady was very attentive and thorough. They use brand new tools every time and I honestly felt like I was getting a pedicure from my mom. The lady was so sweet and she went the extra mile to make sure I was okay with everything. My pedicure was $20 and the service was EXCELLENT. If she upgrades the place a bit this location would be super popular. I would highly recommend. Read Less

Randomly scrolled in on a Monday afternoon. The ladies were busy and informed me that I would have to wait about twenty minutes for a manicure. This was not a problem, since I had no appointment. The ladies were very sweet and so were their customers. My manicure came out super neat and the manicurist gave me some tips on how to make it last longer. Will definitely be back! Read Less

Came to SS, MD for a conference and after that drive I needed also me relaxation. After looking at other Yelp reviews I was somewhat annoyed and disappointed that that so many of these salons near here have horrible reviews. Well except for Nancy So I called over and asked if they took walkins; she said they were busy but could take me in 30 minutes. GREAT! While I sat in the pedicure seat letting my feet soak I had a chance to read some reviews. Apparently Nancy is the technician you want. Imagine my surprise when I asked my technicians name and she said she was Nancy! I'm really being pampered. Now here's the grit. I've been to some real upscale places and some real gritty places. This one is a little unrefined but there are tool sterilizers present and being used. And sterilizing tablets used (or atleast I think that's what they are ) I'm very happy with Nancys work. For the past year, I have been going to Nancy for Brazilian waxes. Not only is she super affotdable ($30), she is thorough and efficient. She is also super flexible with appointments and in general a very pleasant person. I almost don't even want to review her because it's still easy to get an appointment with het but she deserves all the success and popularity that come her way. Read Less

Not the most hygienic. Why do you need to pay extra for everything?! To redo the polish? Really anything. Not warm but very accommodating. Very well done pedi worth more than what you pay. Overall, I know I'll get a good pedicure here, but not much pampering. Read Less

Found Nancy's Nails off a whim - was just looking for a place to get my nails done during my lunch break! Nancy is super sweet and did a great job with my manicure. I've gone back multiple times with no appt (just during my lunch break) and have gotten lucky enough to get Nancy. Nancy has a very loyal clientele - people come in and are willing to come back in 1-2 hrs because of how busy she is for her. Her sister is also very sweet! The salon itself is VERY small and outdated but everything is clean and her nail polish options are on par. Gel manicure chipped pretty bad like 2 days after I got it. Very accommodating when I asked to have them fix it, but even after it was fixed the gel polish started coming off within the next few days. A gel manicure that should have lasted 1.5-2 weeks only lasted like 5 days. 2 starts because the staff are really nice, but the quality of the polish used was not great unfortunately. Read Less

Nancy was super nice. I went to her for waxing.She made me feel comfortable and has very decent rates. I liked how the chair was covered in disposable paper drapes and that everyone has their own tub of wax. She also gave me a discount which is always pleasant and I really enjoyed her company. Nancy nails had good reviews. We called about an hour ahead of time for two pedicures. She let us make an appointment for 2:45. We walked down to the building and initially they were closed and the sign read closed. We knocked and she came to door an allowed us to come in. We had to wait since only two people were working and there were two clients finishing up. But she wasn't rude about it. They had lots of walk in ppl come in while I was here but only allowed the appointments to stay. She books appointments without any regard to actual timing so be prepared. But this day could be the exception since she was calling in ppl to work who weren't there and said she had to work though her lunch. The area is small but adequate. Therehas three nail stations and three pedicure stations with no where to sit and wait. She offered us waters as well. Free wifi with codes taped on the wall. It seems that they do waxing as well. Although I didn't need it, she informed that there is a $5-$10 charge for callused feet or thick hard toenails.  I have never heard of nail shops charging extra for that. (See pic) Forgot my sandals. They don't offer the typical free pair but instead charges $2 for the same 50cent flip flops. So don't forget to bring your own. I will be returning to try the manicure since my normal Mimosa Spa has become too crowded and too much about getting you in and out to actually do a decent pedicure without attitude. Read Less
