The ambiance is nice along with the pedicures. The polish DOES NOT last. Every time I receive a service here the polish chips, even if its gel. I enjoy the sugar scrub included with the basic pedicure and will only return for a pedicure with clear polish. Read Less

I used to go to this place all the time and normally they do a okay to good job depending on what you get done and who your service is done by. I normally do gel or a chrome/ gel polish for lasting results. However during the spring. I get a pedicure weekly until summer to shed off and shape up that dead winter skin from stretching my pedicure over the winter months. However they wouldn’t know this considering I started coming here last summer. Long story short first time I did not order the most exspensive polish or pedicure on the menu, I got the most piss poor rush job pedicure I’ve ever seen! The tech did not clean beneath the toe nails, I had to ask and he was not happy about that. I also had to ask him to use the pumis stone because there was dead skin at th edges of all ten toes. He also left all my toe nails kinda raggedy looking at the ends, I had to keep asking him to file them until they were smooth. He just kept repeatedly asking me if I wanted some gel polish! Nope ; I was there for a basic pedicure with clear polish! I dont know how this translates to doing a tacky job. I was very unpleased and will not be back ever! I will take my money some other place. I’m truly disappointed since I really liked the atmosphere in this place but oh well. I want to b treated with the same professionalism and great customer service no matter how much I’m spending at that particular day. I like to give people second chances but this is the second rush job I got, first time was when I brought a special colored polish in for a wedding I was attending! I’m so unhappy about this that I wrote this review ;and I never gives reviews normally if I’m unhappy with the service I just don’t come back! Expensive for the spa pedi but definitely worth the price. My feet feel great, nice ambiance, and very relaxing. I was not as impressed with my brows. The manager did them. Seemed rushed between my brows and clients coming in. I had to direct him to clean up the other brow, which was not even to the other. I have a scar so it is tricky to shape one brie. But very patient persons have managed to do better. Only 8 bucks though. So I'm not upset by the money. But bad brow jobs take a while to grow out. So pedi ... yes, perfect! Brows...meh. Read Less

I love this place. Since moving to Silver Spring it is my go-to for mani, pedi and eyebrows. Love the options on the pedicure and the unique atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly and I always get a good pedi. Note: there is another salon across the street (next to ice cream and liquor store) with same name. I have not been there. I cam in for a gel manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was great. Even thought they don't have massage chairs, Deny did a great job. He was attentive and made sure that I liked the pedicure. The gel manicure was expensive and did not last. I've had gel manicures that look nearly new for 3 weeks. The first nail gel chipped off within 24 hours. They took over an hour to repair this when I came in and made me feel like it was an inconvenience. The next in 48 hours another section on another finger nail came off and the day of my interview one entire section of the gel nail color came off a third finger nail. The woman who did my nails looked like she was in a hurry or just didn't care and may not have sealed the nails properly which is why they chipped off. They also appeared to use a color that was running out. Never going back to this place. Read Less

Went to Fancy Nails last Thursday and got a deluxe pedicure , full set w/gel polish and eye lash extensions. My pedicure was just ok even though I paid for the upgraded service. After that I went to get my full set started. When it got close to closing time the lady who did my pedicure was leaving for the night, the tech doing my full set stopped doing my nails and insisted that I tip her before she leaves and suggested that I add 15 dollars to my bill for them to split. When getting my nails done I always tip, but I don't appreciate when it's expected and I feel almost bullied. The acrylic wasn't even on my nails yet! To avoid tension, I paid for everything at that time. After she swiped my card I realized that she charged me for gel polish without asking. Since I had already paid for it I just went with it because I was ready to leave anyway. My full set wasn't the shape (ballerina) or length (medium) I asked for but I was over it at this point. By Wednesday of the following week one of my nails came off from scratching my leg. I didn't think much of it, maybe I was scratching too hard. Unfortunately, by Friday three more nails came off without me doing anything. In addition to my nails coming off, my eyelash extensions were so lifted that I remove them due to irritating my eyes. In 8 days my eyelash extensions were gone and three nails were gone with two lifting on the side! Since I spent a great deal, I decided to call the manager (Peter) to see if anything could be done. Thankfully he said that if I came back they would fix it for me. After waiting 20 minutes a new tech began "fixing" my nails. They were so bad that while he was filing them an additional nail came off from filing alone. Basically, I ended up with a new set. Ironically, while I was getting my nails fixed another lady came in with a similar complaint. She got a manicure done on Wednesday and her nails were chipped by Saturday. Once he finished my nails, I went to get my eyelashes redone. The eyelash lady refused to redo them and blamed me, saying that I didn't take care of them and there is no guarantee with the $30 dollar lash extensions. If I got the 50 or 100 dollar lashes I would have a guarantee. I opted not to pay to get the lashes put back on. If the $30 lashes lasted 6 days why would I spend even more!?! Now I'm leaving the salon, I even tipped the guy who fixed my nails. As I'm leaving the lash lady stops me and demands that I pay for my nails because they are "new". As expected, I'm furious at this point. After explaining to her why so many nails needed to be replaced she eventually let me leave. Can't say that will ever come to this salon again! IMPORTANT - this review is for Fantasy Nails across the street next to the Tropical Ice cream. The other place is obviously trying to steal business from a far superior nail salon. I stopped here based on high google reviews. Was not impressed. Pedicure was sub-par, and did not get any pumice stone scrubbing. The fill in was a disaster. The woman could not seem to understand I wanted coffin shape (my nails were already coffin shaped upon arrival, she just had to follow how my nails already were) and I had to tell her to re file 5 different nails. And with the filing of the sides, she insists on continuing to file the top so all my nails were/are not the same length. Went under the dryer, the part where you lie your hands was sticky and nasty, so I put a magazine down. There were UV lights, but they didn't turn in and the dryer fan was basically non existent. Waited 10 mins under the dryer for basically nothing since I chipped a nail getting in my car. Will not be back.Read Less
