This is a pretty good place....solid service and never a wait. I do have to remind you that they're closed on Mondays because I have made that mistake quite a few times! I like that they always have bird songs playing so it is a calm environment. I've only come for a pedicure but they do nails, hair, and waxing too. They have nine chairs for pedicures so like I said, you shouldn't have a wait. They also have different types of pedicures with salts and lotions...they call it the *spa* pedicure and it is worth it! This place has always been my go to nail spa when I'm in town! I've been going to this place for years and have never left disappointed. I rate nail places both on the quality of the nails and the service and this place does great on both I usually ask for Lani every time I come, though everyone there is nice. I stick with her because she's done them great every time. I'm always seated at the right time in terms of appointments, the people there are extremely attentive, and I get constant compliments on my nails! The price is not bad at all. Highly recommend! This is my absolute go-to place for my nails. My mom and I have been coming here for YEARS. Tam kills it and my gel manicures last for almost a month! I constantly get compliments on the shape of my nails how glossy they look long after I get them done. Tam has a great technique of having you dry one fingernail in the gel dryer at a time and painting the different nails by alternating between hands - this is so the gel doesn't drip and dry weird if your other finger is being painted and the angle of your hand doesn't affect the nail polish. He's very patient and takes amazing care of his customers! The shop is more accommodating than any other nail shop I've been to. They're all very sweet and trust me, as a Vietnamese woman, they have never said one negative comment about customers, even the rude ones. The nail technicians really get to know their customers.I'm not sure why there are negative reviews here and there for Nail Tech, but if you don't like the way your nail shape or color turns out, that's on you. Nail technicians can't read your mind. You've gotta communicate if you aren't satisfied with something! Speak UP! And the technicians at Nail Tech, in my experience, have ALWAYS made sure I'm alright with how my shape is looking throughout the mani/pedi. 10/10 would recommend Nail Tech! Read Less

I've been here 2 times for a pedicure and once for an eyebrow waxing.  I mostly go here because it's pretty close to my place and it's cheap but no frills. About the pedicure: I think it does depend on who you get.  I've had a time where a lady cut me and made me bleed and didn't even acknowledge it as if I wouldn't notice the pain.  Haven't gone back to get a pedi since. The place isn't super fancy and is pretty no frills.  I stick to standard colors so color selection isn't usually a problem for me.  About the eyebrow waxing: I read on yelp that Tam does a great job with eyebrows.  Now Tam is a great owner and knows how to treat people and really make them want to come back.  The rest of them, not so much.  He did an okay job with my eyebrows.  He was a bit rushed since he was also doing someone's nails at the same time.  I think he might have cut me a bit. I got a hair cut there and it was amazing!!!I heard their are other places that charge like $50 while this place charges like $17 and it looks and feels better I recommend you come here when ever you want a hair cut. My eyebrows are kind of oddly shaped, one has a higher arch than the other, and he shapes them just right every time so they look normal and I daresay perfect. Even his waxing technique is phenomenal, it literally doesn't hurt at all when he pulls of the cloth strips so it's a very comfortable experience. He uses this kind of powder then gel then lotion treatment at the end so I'm not all red and raw the next day. I'm going to be really sad when I move away and can't stop by here as easily. I've also never needed an appointment, I just stop by and sometimes I wait for 5-10 minutes but it's really quick nonetheless. Tam and his fam (that rhymes!) are the best. They're always welcoming and there's a homey feel in the salon. Tam's older sister and Tam are amazing at doing eyebrows and they try their best to fix shapes or shape it the way you prefer. I've been coming to Nail Tech for around at least 2-3 years now and I plan to be a consistent customer. It does get busy in the late afternoons toward the weekend so try to call or time your visits right. My grandma also loves coming here to get her nails done. I had suchhhh an amazing experience here!!!!! The gentleman that's doing my pedi really took his time even after closing almost an hour before. He didn't rush or anything he was sooooo thorough. The lady that did my brows was great as well she was so friendly. Even if they really hadn't done the best job I'd still come back because of the customer service. Men face a social stigma with getting a pedicure. I'm numbered among them. But after several decades of avoiding this, and after walking for 3 days in New York City, my feet were particular tired and I didn't feel like trimming my toe nails that are farther out of reach.Wow, what a delightful experience. The room itself is fairly basic, so it's not a higher-end fancy ambience of a spa, but for me, that's okay. For the low price to high quality service ratio, very worth it. Give it to me I'm worth it. The pedicure starts off with a warm foot bath. That alone makes it worthwhile. The chairs have mechanical massage, okay for a few minutes, but I'd rather have real hands of a masseuse any day. Then the various elements of the pedicure proceeded, each stage librrating my toes from micro-aggressions of toe jamb, sock fragments, dead skin build up, and whatever else. The finish was a warm towel after filing off the feet bottoms' dead skin layers to make 'em oh so smooth!Now my toes are free!! and my feet are happy! Sarah was friendly and sensational! Thank you! The good news- best place to get your eyebrows done (ask for Tam). More good news- great, friendly people and they offer you drinks.The bad news- even after they did a touch up on my nails to fix the gel that stuck my nail to my finger and to take off some of the nail polish on my fingers the first tech left on, there is an ugly excess polish bump on my pinky that I didn't notice until I got in the car. So the experience here was not that great. First of their nail polish suck. The colors don't really look like what they look like when you put them on. Very cheap nail polish  and extremely poor customer service. I asked to change the color i chose initially but, they refused to change it unless i paid an additional &10. During the manicure I first noticed the previous guests nail clippings. Ugh! Next noticed the (serious) dirt under my manicurists nails. This place was highly rated but once again, DC area beauty services leave basically everything to be desired :/ I asked for a gel mani and pedi- got a gel mani (three coats, and you could see the nail still, plus occlusions in it). But not the pedi- they ended up using a different normal laquer. I also asked for same color on both, and they're two entirely separate colors... Great. They also did the mani before the pedi and so what should have been an hour or so became a much longer trip. Had to leave to catch a ride home and the pedi was ruined by my shoes. I thought I'd be able to have some cute durable nails for my vacation, but now I'm going to be stuck with my attempts to salvage my toes at home and a crumbly gel manicure on my fingers. I was in town on a long business trip and needed a gel fill in and a pedicure. I read the reviews which seemed mixed but i really needed to go and it was on my walk back to the hotel so I went and was impressed from walking in... decided to go. The first night was so booked he gave a wait time of "30" minutes- I was actually impressed because most salons say 10 minutes and its never 10 minutes - you end up waiting 30 minutes. I asked if the next night was better and he said yes. I did go back the next evening and the same time  and was whisked away and put my feet in hot water. NICE!! I had Tammy and her mom (combo team) and she was wonderful. I had a nagging ingrown toe nail and Tammy worked on it until she relieved my pain - I was VERY grateful, and also happy she spoke great English. because if the great reviews on eyebrows I decided at the end of the night to get my eye brows done and was also pleased. My skin is super sensitive so she suggested that she do it the old fashioned way of plucking... Thank you Tammy - that was a great experience and when Im in town again I will pop over for a visit. I was excited to go here because it was close to 8pm and I was happy that they would still take me. however once i got there I had to wait for service even thought there were people available to work on me. after they trimmed and clipped my nails i was deciding between getting a regular french manicure and a gel french manicure. she gave me a the price difference for both. by the time i came back from the sink where they told me to wash my hands she increased the price of the gel by $6 saying that the cuticle trim made the cost more.  this was ill fashioned seeing as how the cuticle trim is routine with any manicure service. this was a rip off to jack up the prices because if this is an extra cost they should have informed of this service seeing as how I only asked for french manicure. needless to say i won't be going back to get services from them because they were not upfront about their prices. I'm not picky about getting my nails done and really, I only visit a handful of times a year.  I don't have a ton of requirements when I get my nails done, but here it is:- I want to relax- I don't want to be man-handled- I don't want to break the bank I was greeted several times when I came in.  My pedicure was done nicely and gently and the lady (I didn't catch her name, sorry) didn't pull my feet like they didn't exist (thank you!).  Sarah did my french full set and she asked quite often throughout the entire process if I was ok, if I needed something to drink (they serve soda and water for you parched ladies), and if I was ok with the look of the nails; not many of nail ladies even bother to speak 2 words to you!  She had to pick up the phone a couple times and was extremely polite about it and apologized perfusely.  She didn't (trash) talk in Vietnamese (in fact all of the ladies here didn't); I hate when you visit a nail establishment and that's all they do (yes, I can understand their smack talking)The place was well-kept and clean (chairs aren't torn and someone swept right after Sarah had finished cutting down my French tips).  I learned that this place is a Family Business (big plus!)I've passed by this place so many times, but always thought that it would be pricey given the fact that its right off of 355.  The quality and price are definitely better than 95% of the places in Mo Co.  I'll be visiting here more often.  Thanks guys! Went to this nail salon today and I left very happy and satisfied. I got the French tip manicure. It was done with pink powder. Tam worked on my nails and he did an outstanding job! He paid very close attention to my cuticles and he was gentle with me and cared about my concerns. Tam has great hospitality. I had to wait a little before I got my nails done and apparently they offer the customers free drinks while they wait! Awesome right?! The salon looked very clean and sanitized. After requesting a mani/pedi Tham confirmed that he could get my nails done in less than an hour. He had Lonnie work on my nails and Kevin worked on my feet. Kevin was awesome. Lonnie was NOT. She was friendly and gentle but she seemed spaced out or on meds and did not bother to cut my cuticles after barely pushing them back. She then painted my nails and my cuticles with uneven coats of polish and sent me on my way. Luckily I know a bad nail job when I see one. (please refer to my pictures noted: "DO NOT LET LONNIE TOUCH YOUR NAILS"). I informed Tammy of my nail concerns and she quickly fixed them. She actually gave me a manicure to include cutting my cuticles. Afterward my nails were gorgeous! My main issue is that Tham refused to view the condition in which Lonnie left my nails and then he blamed me by saying that I was so relaxed that Lonnie didnt want to bother me. No apology or acknowledgement that he wasted my time.My 1 hour appointment ended 2 hours later. My nails are fab and the rest of the team made sure that I got a quality nail job but I will NEVER let Lonnie touch my nails again... My search for a great nail salon in Rockville, MD continues. I walked in here once on a whim and haven't gone anywhere else since! Appointments definitely aren't necessary, unless you want Tam (and you do, he's the best but others are good too). This isn't a frou-frou salon or anything so if that's what you're looking for this isn't your place. However, it's affordable and they do a good job! Before, a mani used to be $10 but I do believe it's gone up to $12 now. Not a huge problem though considering some places charge you upwards of $20! Like I said though, it's not the fanciest of places. You get what you pay for. While Tam's the absolute best at everything (acrylics, mani's, EYEBROWS) everyone else there are darn good too. The ladies are always friendly and so are the few men, they always make friendly conversation. They have a new girl who does the nail designs so they've definitely stepped up their game :)Keep in mind, they don't put tips on credit cards so make sure ya bring cash!
