Despite the many bad reviews this place has, I swear by this place. I have tried many salons throughout the years and have found that no where compares. They are almost always available without appointment and do a fantastic job with both manicures and pedicures. Additionally, I trust no one else with my eyebrows other than nails spa. Nails Spa is a poorly named, poorly located, and poorly maintained nail shop. However, the pedicure was decent. I was killing time in this plaza (don't ask the name--they're all the same and I try not to spend time in Rockville), and needed a pedicure, so I was just thankful I didn't have to drive somewhere else. The woman who did my pedicure was really friendly. I like that she spent a lot of time of my cuticles and that they use the electric buffer. Plus, I was wearing a dress, and they provided a lap towel, which was super appreciated. Nail art is offered, which is also appreciated, and the prices are super reasonable. The color selection is a bit lame, and callus removal could be improved upon. The massage was great though. You can tip on a credit card, just be sure to inform your tech before she runs the card. Unfortunately, children are allowed here.It's not the best pedicure ever, but if I was in this plaza again (if I could pick it out from the others), I'd come back. Read Less

I'm a firm believer in not writing a bad review based on a one time visit since everyone has bad days but this is worth it. I went in for a gel manicure while my car was in the shop. The woman helping me made the previous customer get out of the seat to make room for me which is fine since she was only waiting for her polish to dry but she should have been helped to the front before. The technician seats me at her table and does not REPLACE THE TOWEL WITH THE PRIOR CUSTOMER'S GROSS NAIL CLIPPINGS. I waited for her to realize this through the removal of my existing gel polish. She did not. I had to ask her to change it. There was a decent selection of gel colors but not exactly what I was looking for. Ok, I'm flexible. I found one that I like and asked for a second as an accent color. She comes back with only one bottle and it is neither of the colors I selected. They lost that bottle. I figure fine, it's not meant to be. I'll get  regular polish and deal with the drying time. She finishes removing my gel and then buffs my NATURAL nails with the electronic drum file. She'd used it to buff the gel and it hurt from the friction but again, ok. On my natural nail?!? She cuts and files my nails, and then turns my hand over to check for shape. she tries to even out one of my nails and says "so thin" and gives up fixing her file job. Gee...you think? Her finished product was bad enough I had to file 3 of them myself to get the shape a) correct and b) not asymmetrical. She buffed my nails AGAIN, with a block at least, and scraped the skin on my thumb so bad I bled. The polish job was fine. Nothing to write home about but similar to what I would have done myself.  I guess that was the highlight. I'm actually going to wrap this up but suffice it to say I did not tip and I have worked in the service industry for almost 20 years. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else. I've passed 3 other nail salons this morning while waiting for my car. Maybe I'll go get gel at one of them now. Read Less

Despite the poor reviews on yelp, I came here for convenience since I was in the shopping center. Save yourself the $14 for a manicure and ask your 5 year old niece to do your nails for you. You'll get the same quality. Do not come here. Read Less

I normally I go to Phoenix Nail Salon in Gaithersburg Maryland but the person that does my nails was on vacation so I needed to go TJ Maxx anyways so I  decided to come here VERY bad mistake. If I could I would give this place 0 star! On Saturday 3/28/15 around 10:15AM I was going out with group of friends and I needed a manicure done since I was going out later that night it was nasty/horrendous in their the lady that did my nails was trying to get me to get me to get me something for $20 oh it's better then a mani and trying to eyebrow done (that's a big turn off if you are trying to push me to get stuff) so after i was done she said nails were dry so when I got home I noticed that my nails where NOT dry and they were mess up for $13 it's not worth it I will NOT go back to this Nail Spa. It's so nasty here. The towels were stained. The technician pulled out a dirty used pumice stone for my feet. I had to ask her to please use a new one. It makes me think about what else might not be properly cleaned. Never coming back. Read Less

It's hard to find someone I like and trust anymore with my nails, but Tina is great!!  She knows what I like and is very friendly.  I don't know who these other people with bad experiences dealt with, but this is not a one star place if you get the right person. Read Less

Do yourself a favor...run away from this place immediately and never look back. I went to have my acrylics filled in, and when she was filing my nail down - she dremmeled the nail down so far I bled on 3 fingers... At that point I thought "I need to leave immediately" unfortunately I didn't, and I just had to take my acrylics off to which I discovered she ground my nail to the SKIN. I received one of the best manicures I've had in a long time at Nails Spa.My nail technician took her time and paid special attention to each and every step of the process, putting her TLC into every nail.At first my "go, go, go" nature kicked into gear when she first started filing my nails. My initial reaction was "Wow - I'm going to be late for my conference call in 40 minutes."But as I eased on in I really began to appreciate the care she put into every step. She cut my cuticles slowly and meticulously, buffed each nail to perfection and even encouraged me to pick another color once she began putting on the top coat of my original color and realizing it had been thinned out too much.Now, the shop itself ain't nothing to call home about. It's small and rather bare. Nothing fancy, flashy or extra about it. But man, was this manicure good. Day 3 and still no chips ... and I picked polish the color of a full bodied red wine.The manicure was $13 - not expensive but not particularly cheap either. But it was definitely worth it!Probably won't become a regular here just because it's really out of the way for me, but if I find myself out in Rockville with some raggity looking nails, count  me in!
