I have always been a fan of Charming Nails & Day Spa, but yesterday evening I had a terrible experience. I normally go and see Dennis, Peter or Charlie. They were not available last night and I was hesitant to get my nails done with a stranger, but the lady on the phone insisted Nick was really good. I knew better than to go with a stranger, but I really wanted to get my nails done (first mistake and the gist of this review). I had a dip powder manicure and I chose the color Nude (126). I had a dip color on previously before my appointment. Nick seemed pretty annoyed that he had to take off the previous color. Things were moving accordingly after that, but then I noticed he was putting on the finishing top coat and I could see my nail bed through the color. I asked Nick if he was really done putting color on my nails and he got offended. He said that I chose that color and that color is supposed to look that way because it is natural. I told him that I would have dipped more layers on to build the color. Nick asked me if I would like him to put more layers on and I said, yes. Nick got really mad that he had to undo everything he did previously and add more layers to my nails. I told him I was sorry that I made him angry ( I am the one paying for this). In a frustrated tone, he told me that he was not angry. I was extremely uncomfortable and could not wait to get my manicure over with. When Nick was done adding the layers onto my nails, they looked way better (you always add layers to a light color). After my nails were dry, Nick put on a dime-sized amount of lotion to both of my dry, cracked hands and started the hand massage (you can just imagine the horror on my face). I payed for the service, tipped him and left in a hurry. I felt uncomfortable to complain. I just wanted to get home and relax after a long day. Please forgive me for this extensive review; I just wanted to make everyone aware of my experience. If you ever go to Charming Nails & Day Spa, please make appointments with Charlie, Dennis or Peter. My nail tech from Studio blue is Kat, and she does a super job, whether it is a pedicure, or doing my acrylic nails. She is fun to talk with, and I look forward to my standing appointment every 2 weeks. If I can't make my appointment, she is very accommodating to get me rescheduled to a time that works for me. I have never had a problem with the quality of her work, and get many compliments from people I don't know who ask me where I had my nails done at. She is a great asset at Studio Blu, and I hope that they realize how lucky they are to have her working there! Read Less

AKA Charlie's Nails and Spa - Located next to Ledo's pizza, this upscale nail salon  has great customer service, with average prices! The pedicure area is warmly lit and relaxing. Me, my cousin and grandma came in for manicures and we all could sit next to each other because of the layout of their tables. Charlie did a great job with the interior design. I love the place! The air is a little hard to breath with all off fumes but you do get used to it. They offer free drinks while you are serviced, the coffee is amazing! I think the prices are pretty reasonable though I don't have a lot of experience to compare to. I have been here multiple times and always felt very comfortable, being a guy. Read Less

The WORST customer service. The owner of this nail salon "Steven" needs a class in customer service. He is very rude and had the nerve to say he was not the owner when asked. I don't mind paying for quality service but over priced service is another thing. If you go to this nail salon be sure to ask prices beforehand and don't let them tell you "I don't know". Went here for a girls day with my daughter and nieces.  When we walked in, the receptionist was very nice and friendly.  We were immediately serviced with no wait.  I got a gel mani and pedi, my daughter a pedi, and my nieces mani's.  The pedicure area was really nice and we were served drinks (we opted for the strawberry lemonade).  My pedi was amazing and the lady who did my feet was very nice.  My mani was alright, I've had worst.  Th girls were all pleased with their nails and toes. Only thing that was disappointing was that my nails and toes didn't last very long.  My nails were chipping within a week as well as my toes.  The gel polish should last at least 2 weeks.  But the way the lady applied the polish was weird as well as the way she had me placing my hands under the light.  I'm willing to give this place another try...hopefully, my polish will last a little longer next time. Dennis is amazeballs.  He is he first nail tech to ever ask if he's hurt me.  He didn't, but the fact that he cared meant a lot.  I have eczema and I'mUsed to them just cutting me and not paying any attention to it.  The customer service here is top notch.  And of course my nails turn out gorgeous every time. I have never left Genevieve's chair without feeling like a hundred bucks. She is a hair wizard, especially with color. She always gets the color perfect. Looking for a certain cut? You show her a picture and WHAM, you got the color and the cut you desired. Don't know if you should go with a certain color or cut? She has the answers! Where to start! I love Studio Blu so much. I originally went to High Maintenance Salon when my stylist worked over there and I followed her to Studio Blu. I have to say the atmosphere has only gotten better and better over the years that I have been going there. It feels so open and peaceful. Everyone always has a smile on their face and are very positive. I always know when I go in to get my hair done that I am going to be treated with respect and patience. Over the years I ...have trusted Candy Warner with my hair and she has done nothing but beautiful work on my hair. I will never go to a different salon. I have recommended so many people to Studio Blu that I have had friends of mine go to the other stylists there including Vienna and Tracy. And they were more than happy with their hair when we left there. Many people may wonder about pricing. Let's just say the quality of your hair is in what you pay. I find the prices for my color and cut to be more than reasonable. I always make sure to leave a large tip for my stylist too because this is their livelihood and your head is their work of art. They take pride in doing your hair and I can personally say I always like to show my appreciation for their work by tipping. Because of how well my hair is colored and styled I only have to go in every 2-3 months. So take the amount that I spend and divide that out to those months is more than worth it to me.
