I booked an appointment for a SNS dip powder & a pedicure. I showed up early and waited patiently. I was then asked if I had an appointment to which I said yes. The lady came back and then told me they over booked themselves and that I would have to choose between my pedicure and or my nails. I was furious! Unfortunately, there are probably some decent hard working employees there, but the manager acts likes she’s a “prison warden”. The staff are forced to be “stiff and robotic” with each other and clients. That’s why they offer wine, it’s the ONLY way you could possibly relax there. LIFE IS TOO SHORT! I typically get my nails done by Paige.  She's extremely consistent.  I can count on her to do a great job.  I do however look for great customer service when I spend my money and I would say that management is not always consistent with client customer service.  The prices are also astronomical. Ive been here now twice and i hate that i had 2 completely different experiences. The first time i came, i got a gel mani and deluxe pedi. I felt like the pedicure was amazing and very much worth the extra 10 to upgrade to the deluxe. The foot massage was just what i needed after working four 12 hour shifts and the woman scrubbed my calluses off with a metal scraper and it was so fantastic! Plus, mimosas make any spa day dope! But this last time i went in, the woman didnt pumice the balls of my feet so i asked if she could do it more and she said she already did it. Maybe im just picky, but im a nurse on my feet for 48 hours a week so my calluses are no joke so i expect that if im paying to get my calluses removed that theyll be gone, but i didnt want to ask again so i just did it when i got home. Then when she was doing my gel mani, the polish was applied way too thick and she didnt buff my nails first, so the whole manicure peeled off 3 days later.I was pretty disappointed because i had such an amazing experience the first time, so maybe my nail tech was having an off day. I was hesitant to visit from some of the reviews but a friend of mine had a great experience so I gave it a try. I loved it and will definitely go back!! I had a gel manicure and pedicure which I thought were both perfect! The only thing that is frustrating is not being able to charge a tip. You have to remember to have cash before you go. Read Less

I am a loyal customer of Passion Nails. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and salon. The environment is welcoming, relaxing and clean. It is obvious that the owner takes great pride in making sure the salon has high quality equipment that is always in working order. So many of the employees there have worked there a long time, which seems to be rare in the salon business. Also, if you pay cash for your services, you receive a discount. Not satisfied at all. The first person that started doing my nails was very aggressive and used entirely too much nail glue and ended up more on my fingers than my nails. I mentioned it to the guy and he continued to work on my gel full set. After he started using the powder and it too got all over my fingers, I asked him to stop and requested someone else finish since the shellac (?) was digging into my thumb. He said he needed to file it down and that it wasn't his fault. At no point did he apologize or offer to fix it. The next woman who started working on my nails finished applying the shellac and asked what shape I wanted them. I said straight square and ended up with a square-oval shape even though she confirmed it twice that I wanted them squared. She polished and I commented that she was missing the edges and she made an excuse saying that if she got it on my fingers it would peel off. At no point did she bother to get any of the other nail polish off of my skin on my fingers. Everyone was sloppy and careless. My cuticles bled on a few of my fingers and again - no one acknowledged it or bothered to apologize. I'm very understanding and never review anyone but their complete and total apathy needed to be addressed.Update: was given the total for two gel full sets and it was $126. The justification was that it was $38 to simply put on the full set of nails and then an additional $20 to have gel polish. Plus, $10 to do French tips. I do not get my nails done regularly or frequently; I polish them myself. I went to Passion Nail Spa because they have specific products I wanted, and I wanted to treat myself before a party that evening. I got a regular pedicure with CND Vinylux polish, which has a $5 premium, and a manicure with CND Shellac. I can't use the other gel polishes; they make my natural nails peel off. The gal did a good job, very neat. I would have liked a longer hand and arm massage since I never let nail techs file my fingernails. Also a very simple dot flower design is good but not great. The total cost was $90, which I think is too high except for on occasion.Read Less

I Went in for a full set. Queenie did my nails and she was pretty rude. She also filed my cuticle with the electric file. So 3-4 days later my hair would get stuck in my nails all day because half of my nails were lifting. This has never happened and I always get my nails done. By day 5-6 basically all of my nails were coming off on their own. Literally they just popped off. So I Went in to get them fixed about 7 nails gone, (I even brought the full nails in to show they were...n't broken) also (you get a fill in at 14+ days) and even when it's time for a fill in my nails have NEVER came off. So when I went to have them fixed I expected good customer service but instead I felt mocked and the staff was so unpleasant Queenie had me sit down and was "pretending" to fix my nails for 20 minutes until she got the owner on the phone. Then had me talk to her, she had an attitude and acted like it was OK for them to come off like there was nothing wrong. Then told me I had to pay to have them fixed. This place is just so unprofessional. It's also small and crowded. You can't walk in the door without bumping into someone. Also my first time I was never offered a drink (probably because I'm 21 but look 17). Very weird place. Probably the worst nail and paint job I've ever had. So while I can't say I was treated differently because of my race, I can say that I did witness the owner being rude to a white customer. No the customer should not have been on her phone but it was the owner's tone that was surprising. Besides that I'm trying to figure out while i was being charged for what the call a "callous" treatment when all it was, was pulling out a large cheese grater and scraping my feet. I asked prior what do you do as far as the callous treatment, the lady wouldn't really say, she just said, if you don't want it its fine. I'm like I know its fine, then they charge me extra for a supposed, extra shiny polish....bs. On top of all of that why is my GEL manicure peeling after two days???? Never had that happen in my life. Bad customer service, overpriced, and bad manicure altogether. I'll start off by saying I've given this place several chances, and I'm always disappointed. The prices don't match the quality of the service. They don't listen to the customer and just want to rush you in and out. The atmosphere is nice but that's the only good thing about this place. In the latest visit I requested something and the nail tech & manager simply drew their own conclusions about what I wanted. It's a long story but I settled on a regular manicure with gel polish. The gel polish started chipping off 3 days later. The skin around my cuticles started to peel, and my already weak nails were filed down to paper thin for $45 (excluding tip). I'm new to the area and got tired of traveling long distances for spa treatments. Staff is very rude, talks trash about you in their language and didn't do a good job on my nails, then had the nerve to blame me for a sloppy procedure after I paid $135.00 for it!!! Got a Brazilian the wax was too hot and burned me!!! I'm not happy at all with my matte finish full set. Had to go back two days in a row because my nails were jacked up and crooked. I've been going to Passion for +2 years so my review should hold more credence than the low reviews of those who have gone once and then ranted in their review. This salon is top notch, with skilled technicians and an impeccably clean atmosphere. Walking into here is like my own little personal oasis, and Jenny is the BEST. She has been my tech for +2 years and is literally amazing. She is the queen of gel manis (and also gives a great pedicure). I recommend Passion to anyone and actually have 2 coworkers that go there now and also love it! Best spot in Maryland hands down, look no further because Passion is the best there is to offer. I got gel on 12/30 as I was traveling to NY for NYE. I only get one hand done and wherever I go I pay $15-$20 but at this place I paid $40 FOR ONLY ONE HAND!!  I was so furious but I still tipped. The next day all my nails are ruined which gets me even more upset since I paid so much and I couldn't go back to them as I was already in NY and it was NYE. I come back almost a week later (Friday, January 6) and they fixed them for free. On Saturday (next day) my nails are ruined as well. Anytime I have a special occasion or just feel like treating myself I come here for a mani pedi or just a quick manicure, They're often busy, so instead of walking in just call ahead so they can give you an idea of how long of wait it will be.
