Came in on Mother’s Day to treat myself to a mani and pedi and just thought to come on in based on the reviews. Boy was I wrong on choosing this place to treat myself. I was told I didn’t have an appointment so there was no one available and that I would have to wait. (I didn’t mind waiting) So same gentleman whom I’m assuming is the owner stated there was someone available but I have to chose which one is more important because they couldn’t do both. And because I really wanted this time for myself, I chose a pedicure. The tech that that did my pedicure here had no idea what he was doing, even when I asked him to cut my dead skin/hang nail. I've been on a hunt for a good nail place for awhile now, I've been going to Phoenix Nails but they were very limited in what they could do.I went in for a walk in today & was seen by Vicky, I honestly have nothing bad to say. I came here to get a filling after my friend Lori told me about how awesome the service is and how she has been going to Linda and loves her work. I was told to check out Vicki for all the cool designs because I have been looking for someone who can do an amazing cracked marble look. I saw some examples on their yelp page and decided to check it out. I went early evening on a Monday and unfortunately Vicki was not working that day so Jenny fit me in. She did a great job and I was all about my bubble bath nails! I recently went again and could not figure out what color I wanted. Jenny to the rescue! She found this cute pink color  that looked great on my skin. She also cleaned my eyebrows up and they look amazing. Great mani-pedi! They were able to take two of us as a walk in. The staff was friendly and accommodating and eager to please and the facility was notably clean. The manager set clear expectations that one of us could start now and the other would start in about 10 minutes, and the timing estimate was spot on. About two and a half weeks ago, I stopped by to the salon for an SNS full set. It'd been about a year since I was last at this location and haven't experienced the new management yet. My boss at the hotel next year recommended for me to come in try them out. So I did! I had originally booked an appointment with Jenifer, but I wasn't sure if she was the one who did my nails. Anyway, I love my nails! They were absolutely stunning! Now I need a fill-in which I will schedule in time for my birthday in two weeks. When it comes to nail salons I am VERY PICKY (color selection, designs they can do, how well they can shape nails, etc) I was recommended to lotus by a customer that comes into my bar, her nails were AMAZING & she told me about Vicky at Lotus on spectrum. I read the reviews and saw only great things about Vicky. I immediately called and scheduled my appointment!Previously I raved about Phoenix nails in Montgomery village & my review on them still stands but they don't do fun designs, just polish. Since this was my first appointment & I really wanted to see Vicky's skills I asked for a gel fill wit marble design & coffin shape. All I did was show Vicky a picture and she said 'okay' & went to work. My nails came out perfect!! Exactly how I wanted them. I was like 'okay, bet. She's won me over with designs' I was so happy because the other nail salon I had found that did designs (La'lu's) was kinda far & lotus is relatively close to my house so I was so happy! Anne has been doing my nails since Mai left GMC Nails (Mont Vg). Now that she is here, I have continued to see her. It's a very clean nail salon, great location with neighboring restaurants, they serve me water or a Diet Coke, and their customer service is excellent.They have two small pedicure chairs that are super cute for kids.I've purchased gift certificates for my daughters here and they boast a full menu of services including waxing. Every time I come to see Anne I want my nail design to come straight from Pinterest. She is accomodating to my request and the other nail techs often get involved so that they come out perfectly. Last night made my second or third visit which have me saying this just might have to be my new regular spot .. super clean environment and the kiddie pedicure chairs are a nice touch!! .......So just as i get comfy with a new nail tech she up and disappeared on me leaving my nails looking a super hot mess   and with limited techs able to do SNS around here i was thinking to my self that i will forced to going back to acrylics and gels which is exactly what i walked in to This salon for feeling defeated BUT to my surprise they do SNS for the same price i was paying the other tech Both myself and daughter were greeted with a smile and a bottle of water. And after a brief explanation of services she opted for the gel manicure which of course lasts way longer then the regular for only $10 more.  Jennifer tended to me while another tended to my daughter.  Jennifer was friendly and funny. She's such a perfectionist too. She took her time without being slow if you get what i mean. She was attentive and made sure my nails were even and perfect.  The other tech took good care of my daughter too and even gave her a little kid friendly design which made her night. Needed a pedicure and manicure right before a meeting and since it's right by my office i decided to stop in. Thank goodness I did. Pedicure and manicure were done very well by Tien. It's going on a week and my REGULAR manicure has lasted. This doesn't happen - my regular mani usually only lasts 3 days lol. I do have a regular salon I go to closer to home but if I'm ever in need to get my nails done around the office I'll definitely return to lotus. Prices are reasonable as well given that it's Gaithersburg. I came in on a Thursday late afternoon and appreciated the quiet atmosphere and instrumental music playing instead of a loud tv. First thing first.  I went on Yelp to check out the reviews for this nail salon before deciding to go here.  Based on the good reviews and photos, I called to book an appointment with Vicky : pink-and-white fill for myself, and nail polish for my tweenage daughter.When we got to the salon, Vicky was still working on a customer, so I patiently waited.  Another nail tech proceeded to service my daughter.  My daughter wanted ombre style nail polish, but the nail tech just couldn't seem to accomplish the style.  I thought maybe because the colors that my daughter chose were too similar, so we substituted one with a darker color.  Still, the tech had trouble with the ombre style.  Then a male tech (I think his name is Phong) came over, took over, started over.  He did it!  The polish looked pretty good.  $10 for nail polishing.In the meantime, Vicky was doing my pink-and-white fill.  I liked that she was not chatty.  She asked the right and specific questions regarding how I prefer my nails : short or long? thick or thin? more white fill?  She was very focused and very meticulous, and she took her time.  I did not feel rushed.  My nails look great.  $35 for pink-and-white fill.The prices are decent for this area.  P.S.  There's a sign on the window advertising 20% off on Mon, Tues, and Wed.I will definitely be coming here again. I was at the Kaiser complex and decided I needed a pedicure as a reward for what I had just gone through. Lotus had a couple signs posted and I couldn't quite figure out where it was. It's in the middle of the apartment complex where the Firebird restaurant is.  It can be accessed off 355/Frederick by the light and wind through the development where it's located by California Tortilla OR via the back off Watkins Mill.  Free parking on the private roads.  I went in the middle of a Wednesday and few were there. Walked in, picked my polish and had a lovely, relaxing predicure. Came with a sugar scrub, foot/leg massage AND a free water for only $25!  I'll be back, now that I know where it is. Read Less

I saw several signs near Frederick Ave. advertising Lotus Nails 20% off - under new management so I decided to get a pedicure and eyebrow wax. The receptionist told me that I had to have a coupon, which I did not have so I decided just to get my eyebrows done - no annoyed feelings. The young lady who did my brows acted very rude to me. I was asking her chit-chat questions when I asked how long were they open and she muttered "ask him" and pointed up front. No more talk from me. Once she finished, she quickly left the room without saying a word and TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS before I even had a chance to get off the table! I was wearing a surgical boot so it took me a few seconds and once I got up front, she never looked up from her phone or said goodbye. In all my years, I have never been treated like that. I would have given them one star but the receptionist gave me a discount without my asking and was very professional in his delivery of services so I gave them two stars. This place is the best nail salon EVER. I'm so particular about nails and will give this place a 10. So many colors to choose from. Extremely clean and fantastic service. They understand and follow through on everything I request. My cuticles are perfect. This salon was wonderful. Eunice was a fantastic technician. Nice soft music playing in the background. I think the chairs offered the best chair massage ever! Not too rough, as many. The ladies here did a marvelous job.  Especially since I had gel already on my toes and hands that needed a jack hammer to get off!They were friendly and made me laugh (and not just by tickling my feet!)The new color on my hands and feet turned out great.  Absolutely loved it :) The salon is clean and neat. Nice relaxing music and lighting.  Close to a couple of hotels (I was staying at the Hampton and could literally walk here if I chose to).  Also a couple of restaurants in the same area if yiu want to pamper and eat :)Definitely recommend you check them out if you're in the area.  You can book appointments too.
