I had an amazing experience here at bliss. Yesterday being Mother's day was super busy and it was also our first time going there, My mother, sister, and I all got pedicures and they were fantastic! The three ladies that did our gel were great and quick! And the outcome was so stunning! Although, I did also get a manicure. It was the same girl that did my feet, but she rushed through the manicure. She painted my nails, but they all have tiny bubbles, which are not very noticeable unless you are staring directly at them. I did like her very much, but my nails were just a little of a let down. This is now my salon for nails. I only get pedicures due to time and I will only ruin a manicure. But when I did get a manicure they listen to what you want. The techs are professional and the polish lasts beyond a week. It doesn't crack and peel as happens at most other locations. I do not like to use the metal callus remover and they listen. I have visited this salon several times and I was overall pleased with the quality of work. I must say that I have had my nails done by Chrissy (my regular), Angela (I tried), and Lisa (never again). I had gel manicures each time. Chrissy and Angela did beautiful work. It was not rushed and they were meticulous about the way the paint looked. Lisa (her chair is on the left by the entry door), cut the skin on my hands multiple times, she RUSHED my manicure, the paint had bubbles, lots of bubbles under the finished product. I made it into the sunlight when I noticed the bubbles (on multiple fingers). She used her file to repair the mistakes, but it was still not correct. Oh, and usually my manicure would last 2 weeks. I work in the health profession where I am constantly washing my hands. The manicure Lisa did began to peel after 1 week. I would still visit this salon, but never her again. Read Less

After being a resident in the Howard County area for 9 years, I've finally found a home for my hands and feet to be pampered. Image and appearance is everything for my profession, which is why it was very important to find a place like this. The salon is clean, quiet, and most importantly great customer service. I'm a true believer in that you get what you pay for, and trust me, it's not cheap here, but IMO, you be hard pressed to find a better nail spa in the area for the money. I am from out of town, and while I was home for the holidays both last year and this year I decided to go to Bliss for some pampering. Last year I just got a gel manicure and this time I opted to get a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. One of the things I really appreciate about Bliss is the atmosphere they've managed to create inside. It is very relaxing, clean, and well-organized. They use liners in the pedicure bowls and use fresh tools for each guest. I had Jenny for both my pedicure and manicure. She was very sweet and did a great job! She was surprised when I asked her not to buff my feet (I'm extremely ticklish!) and opted to do a sugar scrub for me instead so that I was still getting the full value of the pedicure. As for the manicure, she did a great job there as well, despite the fact that my cuticles were out of control and I had a ton of hangnails from the winter weather. Over a week later, both my pedicure and manicure are holding up! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Bliss! I will happily visit again next time I am home visiting family. *Tip for my credit card wielding friends-there is not a place for you to add in a tip after they swipe your card. They have a free ATM in the store, but you can also ask them to charge you the total amount up front. For example, if I paid $70 for services and wanted to leave a $15 tip, I would ask them to charge me $85. Read Less

This place is very pretty. I stopped by on a weekday and was seen for a gel manicure right away. The tech that worked with me wasn't super friendly but it was no big deal. I chose this place after looking at the photos of the nail art on their Yelp page and I  requested very specific nail art. He didn't have the right tools for certain parts of the design or even black paint (which I always thought was a standard color to have on hand) but he made it work. I wanted a highly-rated nails shop that was reasonably priced. I came across reviews here and didn't mind the drive from Laurel. I called first and was assured there wasn't a terrible wait.It's located in a strip mall. Parking was easy, breezy. The decor was very nice. From the lighting to the back drop to the paint, and bamboo accents.I was paired with Jennie. She was a doll, introduced herself and asked my name. Her work as very thorough. Confession: I have monster pinky toes. Cute....but there's like extra skin or extra nail or some shit. Most technicians treat it like my other nails. Buff it, move on. Jennie made sure to show EXTRA attention and removed the dead skin. When I say I was shocked.... I was SHOOK because I didn't have to tell her a thing. She did a good pumice scrub too. This nail spot opened in summer 2016 and it always looks busy. Frankly, I can't recommend enough. Good quality work, but even more important: Absolutely, hands down, the cleanest salon I've ever been to. As someone who gets grossed out by salons that share nail files, scrubbing sponges and "kinda" clean the tubs with a quick spray down, this place has become my go-to for hygienic practices. They have a disposable tub liner that is thrown away after each pedicure. The files and other tools are one-time use packets. Prices are okay, a little higher than others in the area, but not astronomical. I think $35 for a classic pedicure. Roughly 16 chairs so plenty of room for large parties. 1-2 kids chairs as well. It was the worst salon experience of my life. I've gone to another salon my whole life and its fantastic. I tried something new because all my friends and I were all going out to get our nails together at bliss. I was told it would be a 30 minute wait. An hour and a half goes by and still nothing. Finally, I get seated, and the person just puts on the tips (I was getting acrylics) and walks away. I soon realize he is not coming back, but instead, giving some old woman a foot massage!!! I was livid. I asked the front desk what was going on. As soon as I threw a fit I was treated, but it shouldn't have to get to that point to get good service. In the end I got a $15 discount. 10/10 would NOT recommend! Read Less

It is a very nice place, but environmentally not happy with insisting I wear their foam flip flops when getting toes painted and I guess they all are doing the plastic bags in the tubs. I hate plastic. Not sure why they are better than cleaning the bowls.Read Less

TERRIBLE!!! The place is new so it is aesthetically pleasing, that is the only thing it has going for this business. They price gouge and their services offered cost more than average salon in the Washington metro area. Anna is awful and comes across as she is doing you the favor. The gel nails lasted ONLY 4 days, then they started popping off like press on nails. They tell you to come back and they will fix, who has time to keep going back. The top coat was put on very thin and didn't cover the entire nail. If you point out something or ask a question she seems to catch an attitude. She tells me "I know what I am doing don't worry," then I am back with gel polish lifting off the nail. I don't mind paying if the work is good, and I tip 30%. Anna doesn't appear to like her job and should do her self a favor and find another line of work. Pedicure at Bliss Nails are extremely overpriced $35 dollars and that is just for cool water, filing your nails and polish. Every pedicure I have EVER had included any exfoliation of the heels, leaving your feet smooth. Not at Bliss $35 plus $5 exfoliation. Some salon offer a combination Gel Nails and Pedicure discounted rate - not Bliss they are $75 for a gel mani and generic pedi. It started off OK, with them seating me right away and giving me a bottle of water. I thought this is different/better than what I've experienced at other nail salons. The tech was OK, a little rougher than I expected, but tolerable. However it went downhill when the polish was being applied. First I had to tell him that it looked rough, lumpy. He smoothed it out a little bit. Then I said to myself it's the big toe where they will put the design, so don't worry about it too much. When I asked for a design on each of my big toes he looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language. Then he went to talk with someone else and pointed at me as if to say I asked for a design. So no problem. I was glad that he was getting someone who knew what they were doing. They came over, asked me if I wanted a design; I said yes, I'd like to get one with flowers. He said OK. He did a good job on the design. He then left me to dry. After that no one, not even the ladies who walked back-and-forth, no one asked me if I needed anything, no one checked on me, not even the guy who first did my pedicure. I had been to many nail salons in the past, read the reviews on this one, saw that most were good except for the lady who experienced something similar to me. She was African-American (I believe) and I am African-American. It makes me wonder if there is some connection. I would like to think that race doesn't play into a place like this where you pay good money and even give a tip even when the service is not excellent. It was my first visit and it will be my last. My daughter and I have enjoyed Bliss Nail Salon, as part princess of our mommy daughter dates because they have the most adorable princess pedicure set up with child sized butterfly chairs and bowls. In the past we've done walk-ins and or appointments and never had an issue. We've had good service. Unfortunately today having an appointment at 4:00 we were sat in the chairs to soak, soak and continue to soak for 45 minutes without anyone approaching us even to just apologize for the wait, it was busy we know, but an apology or just acknowledgement of our wait time would've helped. My daughter and I made our decision to leave and as we were walking out that's when we got our first apology and told someone would be with us any minute. Sorry, moments ruined, and lots too late for an apology. Thanks Bliss for past memories but we will not return. Read Less

I went here when the place just opened up and I was really impressed with the cleanliness, the decor, and the treatments.  I have since been back and it has gone down hill in a few aspects, but not all.1. They are still very clean and hygenic.2. Decor is still beautiful.3. The pedicure experience was meh. Not great, not awful, just ok.4. The past 2 times I went, my polish looked rushed.5. We made reservations, only to have to wait half an hour upon arrival because they did not have enough techs. Isn't that why we made a reservation for that time slot. They know how to *take* the reservation, they just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation. Read Less
