I absolutely love Daniell. I had been going to another salon for a year and a half. My stylist was just not delivering what i asked for. I went with my best friend for her appointment and loved the salon and the staff. Super inviting salon. I visited this place for the first time today, I had a haircut, highlights, and color. The color and the highlights was ok. The problem is that the blow dry was horrible, it looked like Lion King, my hair was cold damp and my whole forehead was full of dye, also my hair is shorter than I specified. After paying 179 dollar I ended doing my hair again at home. But the worse part was my husband face asking me if I was in they hair salon today. Read Less

Review for Carrie: I had a manicure and pedicure with Carrie today and she was amazing! She is very personable and fun. Carrie took her time and I didn't feel rushed at all. The pedicure spa is very sanitary as it has a disposable liner for each client. There is a huge selection of nail colors to choose from, including the most newly released holiday/trending polishes. I love that Carrie keeps up with the trending techniques and styles. Review for Salon: The reception staff was helpful with booking my appointment and welcoming when I came into the salon. I was offered my choice of refreshments including coffee and a nice selection of teas. Check out was quick and easy, and I was able to schedule my next appointment before I left. I've been going here since 2010 and will continue to do so (as long as I can continue to afford it!) 😜 Olivia is amazing and always manages to know exactly what I want. Nail techs are all wonderful too, and their pricing is very affordable. Call ahead to schedule nail treatments, they book up quick! I moved out of town last year and tried a few different salons in Columbia, MD without much success, so I ended up commuting back every 6 weeks for color... if that's not a testament to their reputation I don't know what is!Read Less

I was in town for a special occasion and chose Belleza based on Yelp to cut & color my hair. How I wish I could turn back time. My appt. was 9:15. At 9:50 the receptionist told me that there had been a mistake in my booking and my appt. was going to be a "little" later. She thought I had been informed. I had not. I was just about to leave when Olivia, the stylist, was finally ready for me. She knew I was upset. Things went downhill from there. For my cut, I had several pictures to show her and she had a few comments about them but not much. Other reviews claimed that this salon took the time to get things just right. Not so in my case. She was behind, I was upset, she knew it and was nervous (I think). I have never seen a stylist cut hair so fast. I should have slowed her down but I told her few times to cut it a little shorter. That was clearly my doing but I ended up w/the shortest haircut I have ever received. I was sick when I left there. She did not color along my hairline either so I now have my face framed w/gray hair. She said she never knows when to color that part! I should have listened to my gut and left that salon. Read Less

She is very personable and knowledgeable with not just the hair services but recommended another stylist for bridal hair and makeup and another for nails which I had inquired about while she was shampooing my hair. This was my first time visiting this salon and everything was perfect.   The girls up front we're very friendly and immediately offered me a drink while I waited.   Ann (e?) UPDATE 2/16/2017 The manager there was very professional and contacted me right away to explore possible solutions. I explained after having been there two times already with terrible results and a hairstyle that is not only unbecoming but completely impossible to style, I was too afraid to take another chance. I asked for a refund for the cut which I think is fair but never heard another word. Considering I made it abundantly clear this cut was extremely important to me as I had an interview to tape for CBS and my stylist didn't listen to a word I said, either time, I think a refund was the very least they could do. Do not rely on this salon if you have an important event to prepare for or need it right the first time. ORIGINAL POST: I went for a cut, and left unsure but decided to follow my stylist's suggestion and give it a try. I did. I wasn't happy with the length so they kindly fit me right in with the same stylist and thinking I had been unsure of what I wanted originally and perhaps unclear with my stylist, I showed her a picture of the type of style I wanted. I never expect to walk out of a place looking exactly like a picture, ever. It's just to give a general idea of the type of style so she could visualize what I may not have been conveying. Second cut and it's still terrible, I cannot do anything with it at all. Nothing even close to the picture I showed. Finally, I just agreed and left. Her attitude was not engaging and I guess perhaps she was annoyed I had come back, I don't know. Now I have to go somewhere else to get my hair cut! I won't go back. I will say the receptionist there was lovely and very accommodating and the place itself is very nice. Once? Could be me. Second time with a picture? It's not me. I originally found this place off of reviews so I had to come back and add my own review! I'm very very cautious of people doing my hair, but I was so pleased coming here. Becca has done my hair every time I've came in and she's amazing! I have very long hair, so perming can be a lengthy task. She's done 3 spiral perms for me and they have came out perfect every time. Whether it was a just a trim or the full perm, Becca was great every time I went in. The staff has always been friendly amd I've never had to wait. The facility is clean and has the cutest set up inside. I loved coming here. Thank you so much! I would highly recommend this business, as well as Becca, to anyone looking for a new hair salon! I visited Belleza on Saturday Oct 15 to get my hair done for a wedding.  The ladies at this salon could not have been more accommodating. I'm so pleased that I visited them.  While having my hair done, I mentioned eyelashes.  They immediately set me up with a stylist who did my eyelashes right then.  On an extremely busy wedding Saturday, they were so very helpful.  I would definitely recommend their salon.  My stylist for my hair was Sarah. In town for a party so my friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a wash and blow dry/style. Lauren was our stylist and she did a fantastic job. My hair is thick and very very curly and my friends' is naturally straight. My friend got some really beautiful waves/texture for something different. Lauren was meticulous and patient with my mop top. It came out silky smooth and straight. Just the way I like it!  Thanks Lauren. Looooove, love, love Olivia!!! She's amazing, super friendly, dedicated, a true professional, and never ever misses her appointments or reschedules. She actually listens to me and works together with me for every style. The location is also perfect if you're close by to Fredrick, MD. The downside is you can't add tip on your debit/credit card. I always have to remember to bring cash :/Another "less than perfect" point is they don't send reminder  appt emails/text mssgs. Finally, although they're updating the style of the place, it's got a bit of that "neighborhood like" hair salon feel... doesn't have a chic high end or even hipster salon feeling. My wedding was a couple weeks ago, and my bridal party and I had our nails, hair, and make-up done for the event here. It was wonderful! The staff at Belleza were great; they were friendly and flexible, and everyone's hair/make-up turned out beautifully. We were camped out in the salon for a few hours and had fun while doing so. We set up food and drinks in the sitting area, and the staff were kind enough to allow us to keep our mimosa-makings in their backroom fridge. I also got a spray tan at Belleza a few days prior to the wedding, and received many compliments on how good it looked (I had to tell people that it wasn't a natural tan). I went into belleza after going to a different salon 2 times for a balayage walking out both times with crazy lines all over my head that was everything but what I wanted. Today me and my dollface friend Laura went here to get a full set and manicure. We had a private room and were offered refreshments. The ladies doing our nails seem nice. When I first arrived I noticed they had a display window that was colorful and festive. They also have a small parking area. The layout of the salon is nice. From the first time I went into the salon, I knew I had found the right place for me.  The salon was recommended to me by a friend for a pedicure so when I had my first appointment with Carrie - I decided to make a hair appointment.  I had short hair at the time and asked the front desk manager to make a suggestion.  He said there were many great options but that Sarah C. might be the best one for me.  He was right - she is amazing!  I would (and have) recommended Sarah to some friends in the area.  She is attentive and always professional and very friendly.  She has stuck with me through my 'growing out my hair' phase and had some great suggestions along the way.  She even gave me a heads up on Saturday that I'm approaching another tough stage of growing out my hair - and to just be patient.I couldn't get into to see Sarah once (last minute rescheduling on my part) and I was scheduled in with Olivia.  She was great too!I have been working in the customer service realm for about 26 years and it's not often you run across places where it's clear that the owners take pride in what they do.  They hire great staff and build an atmosphere of professionalism and friendliness.  As long as I'm in the area - Belleza will always be the place I go! I called to schedule based the good yelp reviews.The front desk was pleasant enough.I jotted down the time for Wed last week.I get a call on Tue for what I thought was to confirm my appt, but instead was a where are you your appt is today call.my appointment was rescheduled for Wed at 7.Fast forward to Wed and around 620 or so I go let the dogs out go to the door to put them in and get ready to leave and the door is locked.Super!Locked out of my house.I quickly called the salon and let them know that a key was on the way and I would most likely be on time but might be 10 or so minutes late but if they would like to reschedule we could.She opted to reschedule for Sat given that I might be late which was ironic since she was about 20 minutes late for that appt.Sat I showed up for my 330 appt around 315.I checked in and did not receive the same warm welcome that others pointed out in reviews.I wasn't offered  water or anything while I waited, not a huge deal but was not something that was extended to me.I patiently waited in the lobby, 330 comes by still not ready, 340 comes by still not ready around 345 one of the girls at the front desk comes by and asks if I am waiting on Sarah, which I confirm, she states she will check on her and goes to do so.at no point is there an "I'm sorry for the wait" or "Would you like something while you wait?" from the receptionist.After the receptionist went to check on Sarah she didn't let me know how much longer it would be.Around 350 Sarah came up to get me and was apologetic for the wait letting me know it was a crazy day with bridal parties.Not a huge deal.The haircut itself, wash, cut, style was pretty standard.A short consultation followed by a wash, cut, blow dry, then some retouching of the cut while it was dry.at the end Sarah asked me how I liked the cut, I let her know it was nice but I wasn't really sure I liked the front.She touched it up a bit, but I still wasn't too sure I liked it.Realizing you can always cut more off but can't put it back once it's gone I asked Sarah if it would be okay for me to go home and see how I feel given a chance to live with it and wash/style my own.She seemed fine but her response was slightly off it didn't seem like the main concern was my satisfaction with the cut when she let me know that's fine but you need to come back within a week.Nothing to the point of we can do that, we want you to be happy with the cut, etc. but would need to know within a week if you wanted it fixed.There was a way to work in that information while still keeping the customer in mind.So today I called back this afternoon and spoke a very polite receptionist, I believe named Abby, explained the situation and she let me know available dates to come in for a retouch.I asked to check a day/time and call her back.Upon calling back a shift change must have occurred as I got a different (and not as polite) receptionist.I explained I had just called and spoke to Abby yada yada.The receptionist informed me that there is not time for a cut and style and she doesn't know why someone would have told me that. Okay....I attempted to explain this was touch up not a new cut.I was put on hold she came back saying that she has 30 mins that day/time slot hat should be enough time.I tried to explain to cut down on confusion that this was for a touch up I was in Saturday for a cut.Before I could open my mouth to get the third word out the receptionist quickly and quite rudely cut me off and told me "I know, I know".I was taken aback by that, I have been in some facet of customer service based work for a long time and would never speak to a customer/client that way.I decided right then that I would rather go somewhere else and pay someone else to fix that then deal with subpar customer service that quite frankly was rude.I let the her know I didn't need the time slot and would go somewhere else.Shortly after starting this I received a call back from Ryan, the receptionist I had spoken to, calling to apologize if I had thought they weren't trying to find available times for me.I thanked her for calling but et her know I was not upset by the lack of appts.I understand theres only so much time in the day and that I am not making it easy with my limited schedule.I did let her know what I was upset with was how she chose to handle the call.When she decided it was okay to cut me off abruptly.I told her I would never choose to speak to a customer that way. She very quickly snapped back with a tone (negating her 'I'm not rude argument...") that she wasn't but that at times on the phone when two people are talking you need to cut someone off....interesting since I was the only one talking when she cut me off I guess I missed that portion of customer service training.Deciding the call was going nowhere I thanked her for calling and said bye.Based largely on my dealings with Ryan but also the salon as a whole I wouldn't go back nor recommend this salon to anyone. I found this place from other yelp reviews and am happy I did! Long overdue for a haircut, i was fed up and needed my haircut like now!  I called in the morning for an appt late afternoon and thankfully they had availability. I made an appt for a cut for my daughter and myself. The atmosphere is chic and the staff is friendly. I had a great hair wash (the best part) and cut by Melony and she did a great job on my daughters hair too. It's not overpriced, but it's not cheap either. The only thing that would have made it 5 stars is if we had been offered coffee tea or water to complete the experience. Regardless, we will be back because ultimately it's about a great haircut! Belleza is not necessarily expensive but it's pricier than I expected in Frederick since I paid $147 for partial highlights and a haircut. Eh, maybe I'm just being cheap because I wouldn't bat an eye for the same services in Bethesda or DC.Having never been there, when I called for an appointment I asked the receptionist to recommend someone and he booked me with Melissa. She was nice and didn't mind that I arrived 10 minutes late after getting a little lost. She listened to my ideas and looked at the picture I brought and made the suggestion of partial highlights so it didn't seem like she was trying to tack on extra services. She was quiet while she worked on me but I kind of liked that because I was still half asleep at 9 a.m. on a Saturday.The coppery highlights look nice and I've gotten compliments (okay a compliment) and the cut looks good and even as well. I also liked the blowout and flat ironing job Melissa did. Best of all, I was out the door in less than 90 minutes!I'd have to return to decide if I love the salon or merely like it but I recommend trying it out. Read Less

I've finally gotten around to writing a review for Belleza after having been here three times. (Obviously, I like it here; given the 5* rating)I'm in the beauty industry, so I expect top notch everything, be it; customer service, sanitation, quality of products and/or quality of work.Impressed by the system they use to track which stylist each client has had work done with because I have the memory of a gold fish. Very pleased with the cleanliness and organization of the salon as sanitation plays a HUGE role in ratings. I went to Belleza for a Bridal hair and make-up trial, and was utterly dissapointed. The hair trial was fine, although she did not do anything close to what I asked, but she did try. However, the make-up was awful. She used liquid foundation, when I asked for powder, didn't use waterproof mascara (for a wedding), and when I told her I was dissapointed, she didn't even try to help or fix anything, except just loaded more blush on. When I got home, I noticed the line of make-up around my chin line as well, and the make-up and hair only lasted for about 30 minutes. When I spoke to the owner about my dissapointed, she did not try to fix anything, and stated it was my fault because I was moving around too much, and talking to my mother and maid of honor too much.
