I have never had such a HORRIBLE experience in my LIFE!!!!. After being in a chair for 45 min with a technician who CLEARLY doesn't know what he was doing I had to leave. After 45 min he wasn't even half way done. My nails where (1) not the same shape (2) not the same width, as I had requested a new full set, (3) some had not enough acrylic where others had entirely too much where it was on my skin. After him working for 45 min and no were near providing a good service, I asked to be charged for what was done so I could leave. The salon at this point had gotten full and I was not going to disrupt those clients getting service, nor was I going to wait another 15-20 min for it to be "fixed". At the end I wasted almost an hr, because I had to plead with them to give me my bill so I could leave, and $20.00. The place is a bit small, not a lot of room to walk, but I will only go to Nancy. i go every two weeks and she makes sure I am happy before I leave. Good service here and love the decor in their shop very classy!!! They got a pretty good selection of shellac colors since I usually have a hard time finding colors at other shops when it comes to that!!! I went for a relaxing mani/pedi experience, and was relieved when my nails were dry enough that I could finally leave. My nail technician was fine: efficient, if a little aggressive. But there was one other person there who asked that some things be fixed with her nails, who was clearly frustrated with her whole experience. I assume she didn’t tip, because when her technician saw the receipt, he went into a very long, loud rant. He was pacing and gesticulating, sitting in the chair apparently mimicking a customer. I kept waiting for it to end, but it lasted the entirety of my manicure, which was about 20 minutes. It was painfully unprofessional and intimidating. The technician was not fully trained which would have been okay if I had known before and perhaps been offered a discount. Another person was teaching him how to do my pedicure as it was happening and he skipped steps that were included in the brochure. Did not use gloves or proper sterilized utensils. My first visit was for my daughter. They are extremely kind and reasonable for a kids. I was beyond pleased. My daughter was very happy. This was her second Mani&pedi. I noticed the customers and patrons were all very friendly; genuinely sharing in casual conversations and hugs. I have since edited this review (2/21/2018). The initial review was written 6 months prior. The nail techs as far as working on adults . . . average, maybe below average. This is fine for my very young daughter, but for a quality gel manicure don't visit this shop. I've been coming for over seven years and quality has been decreasing. The salon is noticeably dirtier. Today I had a deluxe manicure and pedicure. My hands looked like I had done them. The nail tech watched the NFL game the whole time and didn't pay Attention. He clearly was disinterested and was too rough.  The customer beside me was also unhappy with her sloppy polish change. I've been coming to Pearl Nail & Spa for about 3 years and Vicki has always done my pedicure and gel manicure. I make an appointment and I have minimal wait time. Vicki is phenomenal. However, there is new management and it is absolutely horrible. The manager Jimmy is.not friendly, he does not speak and is just plain nasty to the customers. The atmosphere has changed tremendously. It wasn't the best pedicure ever and the experience was awkward... I took my mom for pedicures and after I paid, the woman who did my nails just hovered waiting for a tip. I was waiting to see if my mom had cash and when we did tip them, my pedicurist didn't see it and loudly said "you tipped her but not me?!" She was with another customer, which was why I put the tip on her station next to her. Why yell at your paying customers even if you didn't get a tip? Sometimes people don't tip and that should be their choice... but I did tip... About the nails- they used three coats on two nails only and my nails actually look like they were painted with two different colors. Also they didn't allow enough dry try between coats so even though I sat under their drying lamps and fan for 10 minutes and walked around barefoot for an hour, the pedicure was still ruined when I put my shoes on later in the day. Honestly, so terrible. Came here once a few months ago and one of the male workers did my nails and although they were pretty, it was painful! The machinery they use HURTS. I don't know if they are just too rough or their equipment is old, but it's not very enjoyable. 2nd time around, came a week ago and the lady who did my nails was awful. She was on the phone the whole entire time, and when I'd comment on my nails she would say "I'm not done yet don't worry." I should've worried more. She actually made my pinky bleed because she was so harsh with it. So sloppy, uneven, and this is supposed to be a coffin shape. Lol. Don't pay the extra $5 just for a shape they cannot seem to do. This is convenient to my work, so I keep trying it and my experience gets worse each time!  First time, polish got all wrinkly and bumpy while drying and they wanted me to pay to do it over.  Second time my manicurist and another got into a screaming match while she had my foot in her hands and she started yanking on my foot while yelling at the other girl.  Swore I would never come back, but 6 months later and desperate times... This salon is extremely slow and racist. I made an appointment for my daughter and me for 12:15 pm. It took 2 hours to finish two pedicures. After my hour long pedicure, I insisted that the person who serviced me service my daughter just to leave. Before my daughter was serviced, I complained that a nail tech took a lady before my daughter who arrived 45 minutes after my daughter. The tech tried to convince me that the lady should be serviced before my daughter because she made her appointment before my daughter made her appointment. I have never heard such a crazy story about appointments. Regardless, my daughter's appointment was at 12:15 and the lady's appointment was for 1 PM. This is my 3rd visit. I went today I usually go to one person here and she does a phenomenal job. Today I went to a different tech and left with a crooked pinky nail, a bleeding cut finger, sliced natural nail and dried residue all around my fingers. When I kept telling her I was in pain she ignored me, after I paid and tried to voice my concerns she said all she can do is say sorry. I'm posting this for my sister. She actually went I didn't. I went into this nail spot thinking I was going to get a manicure,  full set and a eyebrow wax. Kevin was my technician. He was beyond nasty. He coughed in his hand, had a booger in his nose and he had dead skin hanging off his lip. He did a full set and did the manicure afterwards. How does one do a manicure on a full set?! I was through at that moment but the cutting he did to the area around my nails while he performed a botched manicure job, I will never forget. He had the audacity to blow on my nails. I'm praying I dont get anything considering my skin was open from the cuts. He wore no gloves and he was the only tech not wearing gloves. I dont understand how I could go get my nails done without first doing a thorough check on Yelp to see what type of reviews they got. Never ever again and they were overpriced. Lesson learned. If I could give a zero star for service I would have. I went in for a pedicure and asked for cold water to be added to the tub because the water was too hot. Instead of turning on the cold water, SCOLDING hot water was turned on. I'm pretty sure my right foot has a severe burn and currently hurts to the touch. During the entire service I had to listen to how this was my fault because I should have tested the water with my finger.....ummmm my feet were visibly sitting in the water. Okay service.  Questionable business practice.  While my nails were drying, the technician takes my credit card and returns with a sales slip that is for $10 more than what she stated the charge would be.  When I questioned it, she replies "it can be for tip. Definitely should have read the reviews before stepping into this place. I went because it's super close to my apartment...never again. Walked in on a Thursday afternoon and there was an employee sitting across the "spa" in a pedicure chair and yelled out "how can we help you" and I responded that I wanted to have my eyebrows done. Another woman very rudely pointed to the right and said "go there" and when I looked over I thought it was a storage closet. Nope. It was the smallest waxing room ever. To be sure I asked "In here?" Because surely two adults would not fit in that room. She yelled back "yeah!" Like I was supposed to know it wasn't a closet. I walked in and almost walked right back out. It was filthy and cluttered and they didn't change the paper on the table. I didn't lay down until she changed it. She answered a phone call after applying wax to my eyebrow and WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM WITH THE WAX JUST CURING UP ON MY FACE! She also used my boob as a holder for her wax strips. Number one I picked pink and she put the wrong color on my toes. the flowers do not match, if they are flowers at all. she barely massaged my feet and she used the same scrubber on my feet that she did my daughters feet without without washing. I do not like the color red and I would not pick it. My daughter wanted to get a design of a flower but they gave her strips instead she told them to take it off and got plain painted nails. This was the worst manicure pedicure I've ever had.My main complaint is that everything was broken down and dirty. From the massage chairs to the smocks that they wore to the towels and right down to the floors and the surfaces, everything was dingy and dirty. The towels were all stained. I saw toenails on the floor. The surface where I got my manicure was sticky.The people working there were also extremely rude - they just chatted and yelled at each other the whole time. It was not relaxing. When I picked my manicure color they said they were out. So I said I wanted to do a regular (not gel) in a different color. Then they "found" the color I wanted but in the end it was definitely not the same color.My toes were streaky and smudged. They didn't have dryers for your toes. DON'T DO IT! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. I used to come here but haven't been back because of how busy it gets. Today I broke down, made an appointment, and have been sitting at this location for over 2 hours as they fix what the first attendee did to my nails. I have an acrylic overlay... Simple enough, I asked for new acrylic and removal of the old. The attendee at table 3 (short hair w/ bangs very skinny) did NOT know what she was doing. Her acrylic removal included breaking 3 of my nails and filing my thumb nail down so far it bled. I pulled my nails away, asked for someone else, and was told "she can fix for you"... Nope, she made it worse. Not to mention, I showed her how to remove the old acrylic without filing the nail down. Worse thing about it was that the owner/manager was sitting beside us watching this happen with zero input. I finally told her to stop touching my nails and they moved me to another seat and had me soak my nails. Then I began removing the old acrylic myself. I continued sitting as new customers were welcomed and attended to. Finally, after waiting an hour - I get shipped to Li at table 10. She is shocked at what her coworker has done and works to fix it. She makes my nails look better but now they are stubs instead of the long nails I came in with... Thanks, because who goes to a nail salon and gets short nails! I go to pay and look for the owner/manager who witnessed the whole thing... He is gone. They tell me to pay $45... For what? Breaking my nails? Making me bleed? Having me remove the acrylic myself? This location is a little hidden gem off of Dobbin Road near Chick-fil-a. I came in and was immediately helped. Lee, was the technician that assisted me. She waxed my eyebrows to perfection (I let her know I didn't want them thin - I had been growing them out for months).  She was gentle and knows what she's doing. Lee also did my mani/pedi. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!I've been looking for a good place to get my eyebrows done in the area and figured I would give this place a try - BIG MISTAKE.  First, the place is pretty dirty.  The waxing room was small and cluttered and apparently also used as a storage close??.  She waxed my right brow quickly and moved to my left and then proceeded to spill hot wax on my eye (thank god my eyes were shut!!!).  I was freaking out because I didn't want any of my eyelashes pulled out and my eye was waxed shut in the corner - I couldn't open it.  It was awful.  She cleaned the wax off and luckily only a few eyelashes came off.  She finished and then asked me to PAY for the service.  I'm fine with paying but when you DROP HOT WAX ALL OVER SOMEONE'S EYE I don't think you should ask the customer to pay.Like I said - NEVER AGAIN. There were a few people at stations and 4 technicians. I should have left right away. I was really hoping for a great experience, but soon after I entered in hindsite, I should have left. While pointing out nail color choices the employees erupted into laughter. You know when you're being talked about even when you don't understand the language being spoken. I'm not sure if it was my glasses, not being able to find the bin with nail color choices or me being dressed down. The nail technician was rough. It was an unpleasant experience. I've been a client of this establishment for awhile now and will not go elsewhere. I see "Kate" exclusively but have also worked with Lee while Kate was out for maternity leave. I have never been disappointed with the service or quality of work on my nails, ever. They do a tremendous job! Some will disagree but not being a "walk-in", and working with one tech is important and Kate is by far one of the best! I recommend Lee as well since she did an awesome job while Kate was out. OK, I'm as picky as they get when it comes to my mani's and pedis.  I also followed Kate there from another salon and have stayed there for several reasons even though she's gone; service, price, location and convenience.  I am particularly fond of their policy that if your gel manicure chips within two weeks, the repair is free.  I've only had to go back for a repair twice in one year, which qualifies as amazing, particularly for a picky consumer.  My experience there has been great at every turn.  If you don't speak up during a service about something that is happening, isn't if your fault if your dissatisfied with the outcome?  I prefer to get my eyebrows threaded too, so I would not expect the same result with waxing...is that the salon's fault?  I only use debit/credit cards to pay for my transactions at Pearl all the time, and include my tips on them.I'm still a fan.Michelle. Worst pedicure I have ever gotten. The pedicurist who did my nails were rushing to get it done. I was the last person to sit down, first person to leave. While she was trimming my nails, I asked her to get under the nails to get the dirt out. She started jamming the tool into my toe. I told her to stop and she didn't listen at all. Her co-workers were like you have hang nail. Well.. Guess what. I know what hang nail is like! Instead of poking it and jamming it with the tool, she could have been a lot more gentle.  Not to mention, she never even apologized for hurting me. If my customer told me to stop, I would stop and not keep on pulling her skin/nail!This place is so small that it barely has any room for customers to walk. Color selection is not that great either. First time here. I have never felt so relaxed in my life! Many other salons rush the massage part of the pedicure . The lady who did my pedi massages for close to 10 minutes on each leg.
