The man who did my nails cut my skin and I was bleeding bad. All he told me was, “Go home and wash your hands with cold water. Such a horrible job!!!!! Seriously. Worst gel set ever. Not only did I feel as if I was bothering her by asking for a full set but then was told I had to go jcpenny to use the bathroom. Then after I see that my white tips are all different sizes. Not even 24 hours later and a nail breaks completely off. By 1 week all my nails have lifted and now 3 nails broke off. Based on other reviews, this place has a bad rep, but it is always packed with people, so all the people who love to come here, don't do reviews, which is sad. I actually love this place. When I moved to Columbia, I was looking for a place to call my nail home. I consider this place my nail home. I have been to other salons and this one was by far my favorite. The people are super friendly. Depending on who you get, you just have to be more clear on your needs, but overall, they get it. The best time to come is during the week or early mornings. I was a bit hesitant to come here, based on reviews, but I was seated immediately and they were nice enough to use the gel polish I brought from home. My technician was a bit cold and not personable at all, she would make faces to the technician beside her and rudely remarked how my nails were too short and that she could tell that I cut them myself. I have pretty thick skin growing up in my own Asian family so I was used to it, just not openly at professional service. This is the worst nail salon I've ever been to. The nail tech, Michele, had an attitude and was rough with my hands, the man who seemed to be the manager with obnoxious with his staff. He held an argument in another language with an employee who was apparently late. That's all I understood. The nail job was horrible. I tried to go back so she could fix a nail she incorrectly "filled" and I got some more attitude and got blew off by the manager. Ok I'll start with the positive: the girl who waxed my eyebrows did a good job. And it was inexpensive.On the the negative: I came here a few weeks ago to get a full set before I went on vacation. The guy who did them (I believe it was the owner as he was kind of managing the other employees the entire time) should not have been doing nails. My acrylics looked like they had been on for a week when he was done. It did not go all the way down to my cuticles. The nails were also all different shapes. It looked so bad. Then he painted them... I had paint all over my cuticles and he missed parts of my nail. A 10 year old could have done a better job. Was really unhappy. The owner was called himself X-Men destroyed my nails a day before Mother's Day hit me $30 for a polish change and I told him Fills cost 18 he treat me like a dog left me in the midst of doing my nails like 15 times he was so rude and so ignorant I don't even know how the shop is still there he needs to go out of business all of his nail polishes are stale I have never met a more ruder man and then told me he was going to, security on me because he filed my nails sideways so then he started clipping them off and I had to leave a day before Mother's Day with my nails all broken Read Less

Dropped into this salon with a group of 7 girlfriends. The man who did my gel mani seemed to be in charge. However it was the worst quality nail job I've ever gotten. He barely shaped my nails, filed without looking, applied polish unevenly and got a ton on my skin. Overpriced!!! Don't waste your money. Read Less

I came here a few times with my daughters. I have got my nails and eyebrows done here, for the most part the staff is friendly and attentive. The interior: Nail Trix is one of the nicer places to get your nails done in Columbia. The establishment is very clean, the ambience of this location will put you in a relaxed state of mind. Overall 4 starsThe quality of services: The service is okay, if you're not a regular, you will get whatever nail-tech is next in line. Pros: You might get lucky and get a nail-tech who is great and your nails look on point. Cons: You get the guy/girl who no one will return too. Overall 3 1/2 starsI would give this place 4 stars however, the last time I was there my daughters nail gel was not done that great (hint not regulars). The guy who painted my nails kept wiping his dripping nose with the top of his hand (5x gross) he was not going to wash them either. I don't think this place is as bad as everyone thinks...I mean there's room for improvement, but my gel color has been on for a week now with no problems-and my toes still look great...so I can't complain. I was a little uncomfortable with the instruments they were using because some of them weren't in sterile bags...so it made me feel weird...and the nail dude did make my fingers sore for two days after (he trimmed skin under my nails by my fingertips, which no one has done before and I feel wasn't necessary)...either way-I won't come here REGULARLY but will if I need service fast and am too lazy to go to my usual place (lol the mall is like right across the street from me) Read Less

Do not go here. I went to get some acrylics and a pedicure. After 2 days the acrylics began to lift, and when I went back to see if I could get them fixed the man who did them was extremely mean. He said "I pay you if you find someone better than me". The sanding block he used on my toes looked like it had been used before. A lot of times. I don't think any of the tools were sanitized. Stopped in this afternoon for a mani/pedi (was later talked into a brow wax). Service was very efficient and fast, but not rushed. Received both a manicure and a pedicure for $34, and a brow wax for $10, bringing my total to $44. I live in Baltimore and usually pay twice that for the three services combined. Large selection of polishes, but I would steer clear of the ""gel"" polish. Seems like a rip-off and they aren't listed on the CND shellac polish website as certified. Only con was that it was a little cramped; there were three manicure tables to a row. I can imagine it being really claustrophobic when its full. Overall, great value for the money, and no complaints. Well, she did try to talk me into a salt scrub for my feet, and when I declined, she made a yucky face and pointed to my ""calloused"" feet.
