Although Kristin, or KK as she is affectionately called normally does my nails I've pretty much had some aspect of service done by all the ladies in the shop. I had a horrible experience at this nail salon! Called to say I would be 10 minutes late so on the phone that said they would cut back on my services.  Ask for a clear set and they tried to talk me into an ombré which didn't look anything like the picture.  So when I said I didn't like it which I'm entitled to for my money, they started to act very nasty and put the exact same polish on that I walked into the salon with which I had done 5 days ago.  The job was sloppy and bumpy.  I asked to fix it they refused.  Then I was supposed to get my lashes done.  The lash tech came out to meet me and said it would cost $120.  I proceeded to go into her room to get my lashes done.  When I laid down on the bed she tells me it will cost $275.  Is this high way robbery or what? Beautiful shop!I have been going to Nail Candy for almost two years (Kristin does my nails, but almost all the ladies have touched my nails at some point!)Kristin has given me the most beautiful and unique designs, has schooled me on the differences on acrylic, and never lets me go astray with my nails and tells me what I need even when I am trying to hold on the length that needs to go.They are all so sweet, such a fun laid back environment, the interior is gorgeous and the ladies have really put their personal touch on the place!The prices are displayed upon entrance where you check in. (Feel free to take a card and a button with you!) the prices are also displayed at each nail station! And prices are comparable to other nails salon and mani/pedi combo is obviously the most bang for your buck, the prices as stated will vary with designs, so if you come in wanting something specific and stone filled please please be prepared for the price as I tell all my friends whom inquire! You get what you pay for and the designs are often time consuming detailed work and nail candy stands behind all of their work so if you have any issues a simple phone call and they will be more than happy to work it out with you! ( I love that about them!) These ladies are knowledgeable, answer all of your questions, and care about the health of your nails, their honesty and integrity are one of the reasons I am such a loyal customer and have no plans on changing that any time in the near future. Nail Candy is the only nail salon of it's kind in the Columbia area. However, their prices are really high and I don't believe the customer service is up to par. There seemed to be an issue with the fact that I prefer a specific nail tech over the others and I guess even paying over $100 each visit I don't have a say in whom I want to do my service. Me and the owner of the salon had a disagreement that I believe they made more personal than business which resulted in my leaving the salon as a whole. I was rudely and unsympathetically told that it would be ok because I can find another nail salon since there are so many in the area, in addition to being told that everyone spends a lot of money there when I complained about my customer service treatment coupled with how much I pay in services, which made me feel like I was never valued as a client. Besides this one instance of poor and inadequate customer service their actual nail services are nice, but customer service is very important to me and if I'm spending more than $100 each visit on a luxury service I expect to be treated with respect, gratitude, sympathy, and understanding and Nail Candy just did not do that for me. It is such a rarity to have a nail salon like this in Howard county that gives you crazy celebrity nail game. Have been going here for about a year. Love the girls and have never had a problem. For those questioning why it take so long as that they get booked up quickly and I make my next two appointments while I am there! You can call and get on a cancellation list too! And as far as the apprentice comments, they all learn at some point and I have had them do my nails and they did a Fantastic job! And what I like best is that I can have a conversation with the girls and not have someone speaking another language! Other salons I frequented have made me feel uncomfortable when I KNOW they are talking about me in their language! Probably my quickest (and most expensive lol) full set. I came across Nail Candy on Instagram and have been following them for months. I was just getting over my acrylic addiction when I came across Kathy and Kelly's design and I was OMG, must book appointment, get over my fear of the drill and get my glass nails. I booked my appointment on Tuesday/Wednesday and had my appointment on Friday. First off, this nail salon is so cute and doesn't smell of chemicals. I didn't have too long of a wait time when I got there as Kathy was finishing up with a client (I got there early). She asked me what color I'd like and I told her nude and some designs with no clue of what she would come up with. I LOVE how my nails turned out. Nail Candy Shop is amazing! Your nails will never be the same after going here. I have been going here for a year and the girls never disappoint. They can do literally anything on your nails and they slay each time.  Kristin is my nail tech and she is so talented.  I usually let her freestyle on my nails and always leave happy.  The shop has a great vibe and cute decor. Not to mention you will fall in love with the selfie mirror in the bathroom. No matter who does your nails at NAIL CANDY you will be beyond satisfied. I have been going to Nail Candy for about a year. Their new location is beautiful and a great space. Kristen does my nails (gel polish manicure) and never fails to to do something amazing with themI generally bring in a few pictures off Pinterest or Instagram and her nail art skills are awesome. She free hands everything! I have had several different nail shapes and my nails are always symmetrical. I rarely break a nail, but when I do Kristen is able to save it. Everyone there is extremely nice and welcoming. I have also had my nails done by Jade who also does a great job. Quick tip though, because everyone here is so good at their job and each nail artist has quite a following, I would definitely recommend calling ahead as a walk-in appt is unlikely. I reserved an appointment with one of the new nail techs, Kelly, for a full set. There was a very minimal wait time, was taken in the back a few minutes upon arrival. I sat at the station I was told to for a few more minutes and then Kelly came over. She asked a couple questions about what I wanted, I showed her a pic, & then we got started. There was no conversation at all (until the very end) which bugged me a bit, but wasn't a big deal. She finished up & I went back to look at the pic I provided for reference., but immediately I knew I wasn't satisfied. The paint job wasn't what I was hoping for & the thickness of the nails were problematic. In addition, there wasn't anything done to clean up my cuticles. And the total was $90. I was severely unimpressed. I left thinking it was maybe my own perception & I gave myself time to decide if I was being extra or if the nails were ugly. After consulting with friends, I decided it wasn't just me & I called the next morning & spoke with Paula about coming in to fix them. She scheduled me to see her later that evening, but then called immediately after to say she'd book me on an earlier appointment with Kelly to get it fixed. I expressed I wanted someone else to fix it considering she was the one who created the problem. Paula reassured me that they would work with her to make sure I left satisfied. I came back in and Kelly filed my nails down to where they looked more decent. She redid the paint job and overall they looked better, but I still left feeling like I paid too much for a mediocre job and I didn't feel there was much more that could be done to rectify it. There is some kind of residue on the side of my nails that won't seem to come off with soap and water as well. I more than likely won't return, but I wouldn't sway others from going and working with more experienced artists. Lesson learned. Read Less

Okay so where do I really begin. Love love love this place. I came here a day before my birthday back in January and they really did a excellent good on my nails. They use good products and place is so fancy and fabulous. Very cute and girly environment. I am from D.C. And I ride out there every three weeks to get my nails slayed. The staff are super friendly and they make you feel real comfortable. Susan is the one who does my nails and she never disappoints she always slay thru. I haven't tried the pedicure yet but soon will and of course I will update you on that. I highly advise to call for appointments because I am not sure if you can do a walk-in.
