I'm not someone who usually takes the time to leave a negative review - I've spent years in customer service and understand that things happen. However, I just had the most unacceptable experience at this place of business, and wanted to be sure that anyone else who has a busy schedule and expects to be treated with common courtesy knows to avoid this salon.
I decided to give this place a try after seeing so many positive reviews. I called ahead and made an appointment to have a pedicure done after work, and confirmed it with the individual at the desk. On my way in, I ran into a little extra traffic on the way over, I tried to call ahead, not once, but 3 times to let them know I would be a few minutes late - no answer all three times. I figured that It would be fine, I was due to arrive no more than 5-6 minutes behind schedule, and I had an appointment.
Upon arrival, after several minutes of standing and waiting for someone to assist me at the front desk, a young man came to the desk. I told him my name, apologized for being a few minutes late, and explained that I had an appointment. He looked at his book and told me that because I was late my appointment was cancelled. I was surprised, as I had only been about 5 minutes late and they left me standing there for another 5 minutes. He told me I'd have to come back "tomorrow." As a working mother, who made special childcare arrangements for the rare indulgence of getting my nails done, this was not an option.
I expressed my surprise at my appointment no longer standing at just a few minutes behind schedule, and he motioned around with his hands saying "well all these people have appointments now" (there were maybe 2 other women waiting), to which I replied, yes, I do too, there was traffic and it has only been a few minutes, and when I tried to call ahead to let you know no one answered. He rolled his eyes at me, basically said "too bad," was extremely condescending during the entire interaction.
I expressed my disappointment and said I probably won't be coming back since appointments seem unreliable, to which he laughed and said "okay, good!"
It was really a shockingly terrible and humiliating experience, I don't know if this employee is just a bad egg, but I certainly won't be suggesting this location to friends or returning!
Fortunately, I called my usual place, Passion Nails in Clarksburg, and they happily fit me in last minute right after this experience - I enjoyed my pedicure with a complimentary glass of wine - there's customer service! Now I know better, and will certainly stick with them over Deja Vu any day! Read Less
