I went there with oil all over my Nails which caused them a lot to fix it but they were so nice, respectful and appreciative. I came out with my nails looking banging!!! Best I've ever done. Great prices but this salon is VERY dirty and they do not follow code.  I've had to ask the technicians for tools that were sterilized every time I go here.  They pull clippers and cutters out of their drawers -- wiping off gunk from a previous client!  For a pedicure, the tools are sitting in the technician's basket, not taken from a package or solution.  I have spoken to the owner about this and he insists that they are sterilized. They are not!  I cringe when I see others getting pedicures with dirty tools. Everything is dirty -- technician tools, table tops, floor, bottle/lotion tops.  Instead of sitting around watching a movie on your ipad or phone, please, pick up some disinfectant and clean your area!  Sterilize your tools! My mom, sisters, and i have Been coming here for over 10 years and i LOVE this place. Staff is very professional and polite. No loud, rude aide convo. Greeted at the door by the owner - was seated right away.  I was there for acrylic tips - nothing else.  They did ask if I wanted gel or eyebrows done or a pedicure which is no different than any other business trying to sell more.  Loved the time they took - asked how long I wanted them - rounded or squared - asked during the application if they looked ok to me.  I'll go back! I have come to this place many times. After being away for a few years and returning for a much needed manicure I quickly realized the overall quality and customer service has significantly gone down. Recently, I just received the worst shellac manicure of my life. Poor nail polish coverage, painful cuticle trimming and terrible customer service. I left disappointed and returned for a polish change a few days later and received unnecessary attitude. I will never attend this establishment again. If I could give no stars I would. Read Less

Came here twice instead of my usual place in Gambrills (too lazy, didn't drive) because this place has SNS powder and many other places don't. I expressed to them that I needed someone REALLY REALLY good and I think they got the hint that I was very particular about my nails. Stopped in today to get my eye brows done. I was nervous considering I typically only get them done at two shops. I must say I'm happy with my eye brows and I will be back. My husband and I went in for pedicures... BIG Mistake! The guy doing my pedicure scrubbed my foot so hard that it ended up bleeding. The owner said he would give me a woman next time because they were not as rough... There won't be a next time. It took almost a month for the area to heal completely. Read Less

I've been going here for years. David is always so nice and greets you when you walk in. He even remembers your name! Helen is my go-to here. She does my nails (with beautiful designs) and my eyebrows. She is always so nice and takes her time with me. I will not go anywhere else. I have just started going to Great Nails, and I always see Kathi. She is very good. The staff is always very courteous and professional. I think they give a good pedicure but the chair needs updating. I love the special pedicure with the paraffin wax and hot stone massage. I also get a gel manicure. Kathi does a great job and will adjust any little detail that I see without a problem. The manicure last the full 2 weeks before I start to get bored with the color and start picking at my nails.Read Less

I went here Wednesday for a pedicure ended up getting some waxing done. Service was good. I went in midday so not many people there So I got plenty of attention. Pedicure was good I went with the $45 one just to pamper my self. The message part wasent that great but the color and hot stone was nice. Waxing was great I love the eyebrow job I got. My first time here.. And Last.. Worst pedicure ever lady was nice older I was very very rushed very poor job with clipping bad enough I went home and filed them down myself. The paint job was hideous and she was very rough and kept pushing her spa package. The regular pedicure at $23 overpriced for what I got as it was then she tried  to push nail design  I had agreed to get a manicure as well but after I saw a rushed job she did with the pedicure not to mention the not so clean facilities I literally said no thank you got up from the manager stand and walked out I did tip her five dollars and I did not complain but I will definitely never be back. I arrived and was greeted by an older gentleman who asked what services I would like. I requested a Fill-In and a Pedicure. Then, Billy, came over to escort me to my seat. All appeared to be going well but I noticed that Billy's drilling technique was very inconsistent.  Needless to say, he eventually nipped my cuticles and cut deeply into my nail bed.  However, he apologized and kept working on my left hand. When he transitioned to my right hand, I noticed my left  thumb was still burning. I looked closely and saw how deep into my nail bed he had drilled.  I  expressed my concerns about infections and he put a few drops of sytpic and some other liquid on it which made it burn intensely for some time while he worked on the other hand. Needless to say,  I am going to the doctor to see how to remove the nail and avoid infection. There did not appear to be any sanitary practices in place by the nail tech. I had to argue with him to get  IDP gel  top coat instead of the OPI gel top coat. I should not have let him continue with the damage which is still  burning the following day.   I do not recommend the tech or salon by far. Read Less

Amy was awesome! Yesterday was my first time going to Great nails and  I can honestly say that I won't be going anywhere else. I recently stopped getting acrylic on my nails and she actually told me how to take care of them. She recommended that I get silk wraps to protect my nails from breaking, instead of telling me that I need acrylic - like most of them do.She also wasn't stingy with the UV light when I got gel nail polish... My feet were looking very sad so I moseyed over to Great Nails, which is very close to my house. Figured I'd give it a shot. There was no wait time, which was nice. The owner was very friendly and brought me a stack of about 12 magazines. So far so good. The guy who did the pedicure was nice, very quiet. I went for the "organic spa pedicure" for $45, thinking as I chose it that I should've just gone with the "special pedicure" for $35 and that I'm a sucker for choosing it just because it's "organic"....but whatever. The chairs here were massage chairs, which sounds like a plus, but I'm super short and I think they were made for taller people. It just felt awkward and uncomfortable. The pedicure itself was ok but not amazing. He didn't do a very thorough job of getting my calluses, unlike others I've had in the past. Overall just an ok experience. The best part of the whole thing was getting to read People magazine in peace. Read Less
