Went in for a pedicure and it was not worth it.  The person doing my nails was distracted the entire time half paying attention to what she was doing.  While using the cuticle scissors, she made me bleed, twice.  The polishing job was the best part.  I wouldn't bother going back - there are better places. No frills decor, but Quality workmanship. All of the staff here are great, very attentive and they know what they're doing. Tina even helped me fix a thumbnail over six weeks (in three visits) that was split from the tip for months--it's all grown out now with no more problems. Read Less

I hope my feet don't have to be amputated. I noticed that the nail utensils didn't come out of a sterile pack but we're in her dirty plastic case on the stand. I questioned her and she said no they were clean and sterilized. And the cheese grater they use to smooth the bottom of my feet - GROSS and then cleaned it off while my feet were still soaking. Been here a few times and got a pedicure. It lasted much longer than I had expected and the nail technician did a fantastic job. Somewhat pricey (charged me almost $10 extra to get polka dots on both of my big toes). Will definitely be going back. Read Less

Terrible. This is my first review ever but felt strongly enough to write a review. First off the nail technician pulled out dirty tools and I had to stop her to demand clean ones.  Secondly, she was incapable of painting entire nail nail. I overpaid for a shellac manicure despite many nails not evenly painted. I complained to the manager and was apparently "discounted" $5. I will never go back. Save your time and money Read Less

This place is horrible!! I went in for my birthday wanting a manicure with dark red polish. First the lady rushed as fast as she could, then when she started to paint my nails it was everywhere. Looked like crap, she kept going over the edges then painting more adding more all over my skin not nail. And when another customer came in she rushed again trying to get me out of her chair so that she can take the next customer. I kept looking at my nails, and all she kept saying was my nails are too small to paint good. WTH!!! I was so upset, a time for my self for my bday and I got that. Is there less than 1 star rating? My first clue was the small selection of nail colors. Second was that no one knew how to do a design on the nail.  But the 3rd strike was when my toe was clipped instead of the nail.  I left immediately with blood staining my sandal. Read Less

This was by far the worst manicure/pedicure I have ever received. To sum it up: I currently have bandaids on two fingers that were gushing blood from my manicure. The kicker is that as they were bleeding she tried to hold a paper towel on the corner of my nail and paint the nail. I told her absolutely not, wait for it to stop bleeding. She then poured antiseptic on the finer 10+ times and then crushed up leaves (so it seemed) to stop the bleeding and soak up the blood. She tried to paint the nail again WITH these crushed up leaves on my nail. I told her again, absolutely not the nail is a mess and wait for it to stop bleeding and then clean up my nail before painting.The pedicure was rushed, no lotion, no massage and still have rough spots on my heels.I have been all over Bethesda, I will NEVER go back here. The only stylist worth a return there is Tina, - go with her if you decide to return there or just walk in once, and never go back. I tried a few others, as well as the manager herself twice (or, I believe she was, as she acted a little arrogant unlike any other lady in the room), not worth a review. The place looks a little creepy, so one needs to get used to its look and feel.  It is border line clean looking, though I never felt the tools and nail polish was bad or dirty (unlike what other say here). Came for a walk in pedicure. Picked my color and was told to wait a few mins.  A lady came in 15 mins after me and after picking out her color, she was seated at the pedicure chair. I was so pissed I was about to leave right then. 2 minutes later I'm sat to soak my feet in COLD water. I sat in the chair 30 mins waiting to be taken care of. Once again, the other girl got taken care of after 15 mins. I was so fed up that I dried off my cold wet feet and just walked out. Will never return! Read Less

This nail salon is gross. The whole time I was there I wanted to leave. But I'm a believer in keeping an open mind. The woman who did my nails used her own disgusting long nails as tools. The polish was old and left bubbles. The only reason I'm giving 2stars instead of 1 is cause they were really nice and the paint job (despite the bad polish) was actually pretty good. I was in Bethesda getting my car serviced and had a couple of hours until it was ready so I decided to get my nails done. Elegant Nail was the only place open at 9:30 AM so I decided to give it a shot. I was skeptical at first because the interior, chairs, etc. look a bit worn but I am so happy I stayed because Tina gave me one of the greatest pedicures and manicures I've had in a long time. She was thorough, clean, careful, and very nice. I also liked that the other women working there were friendly and happy. I was told that it's a very happy place to work and everyone really was very nice. I know there are other more popular places in Bethesda but give Elegant a try - you may be surprised! Read Less

what to say! dirty, drafty, NO licenses displayed, the WORST acrylic nail job ever! they all popped off after only 2 1/2 days...the "technician" was so slow I wanted to die! I had to correct her poor alignment numerous times....there were more crooked nails applied than straight nails! I also had a lip and brow wax, which I am still recovering from the "pimples" on those areas of my face from most likely unclean hot wax.I would never recommend this place to anyone. When I called to ask for a re-do of the nail job the woman I spoke with did not seem to understand a thing I was saying so I was never able to get through to her about returning to repair the poor job. I finally went to another nail salon and had a new full set of acrylic nails applied - 2 weeks ago and they are still holding up and looking nice! Unfortunately this salon is in PA! I came in here last week for my annual pre-summer pedicure. God pedis are damned good. I should do it more often than once a year. $25 for a pedi. I would pay $35 if I could watch ESPN and read some guys magazines instead of those focusing on Drew Barrymore who has been stalking me lately. Isn't there a guy's pedi place somewhere in this city?They just opened up a massage place upstairs and the wee woman came down and gave me a 10 minute neck rub for $10. It was very good. Generally I am not too keen on people footering with me but I enjoyed this immensely.The other great thing about this spot is that they have their own little parking lot on the aside street, so park there, come for a service and then mooch on throughout Bethesda for an hour ot two.
