I came into this salon because a girlfriend recommended this place to me, and let me tell you.... as a first time customer I will never be going back there again. I came in on my off day wanting to just relax. The lady was kind up until the point I told her that I just wanted to get A pedi. As soon as she sat down and asked me if I was going to get anything else done and offered all these other offers that I turned down she got frustrated that I was only coming in for a cleanup. Tbh I’ve gone to the nail salon in silver spring, but since this nail salon is like 5 mins from my house I was like why not??? And let me tell you. They’re over priced. For a pedi in which I didn’t even get any nail polish applied I was charged $56!!!!! How in the world??? There was no foot massage, no lotion and the lady wasn’t even paying attention because she was so busy talking to the other technicians. Ugh... I would never recommend this place to anyone. Every since I’ve relocated to Maryland, this has been the only nail shop that I trust with my nails. Nancy is awesome! The first time she did my nails, she came off a little aggressive with suggestive selling, but the quality of her work blew me away. I was impressed with her precision and her skills to do my nails exactly how I want them. I have been very satisfied with my nails each and every time that she has done them and I make sure to book appointments with her for both my dipping powder manicures and my pedis! I’ve been a customer for 4 years... With the same nail tech for about 2 years...This evening during my appointment I was called “crazy”& “stupid” more than once by my nail tech in English & in Vietnamese because I asked about the placement of some irradecent glitter speckles. I attempted to resolve the issue & move on from it. I understand client & tech relationships that some technicians have with longtime clients is “playful” at times. However certain lines should not be crossed. I easily spend $100 + in this establishment monthly but no matter how much $$ is spent no one deserves to be treated in such a manner. A vast majority of the population would have turned that salon upside down after those comments, however I’ve chosen to just leave this review & not return to this establishment after 4+ years of being a faithful patron there. I have been coming here since they opened so I obviously like the work they do. I'm one of those customers that will go to whomever is available because I find that as long as I am specific and speak up I get what I'm looking for and all the tecs do a great job! Ill usually ask them for their opinions when it comes to shape and color and I'm never disappointed. When it comes to products I know whats good for my nails as well. My nails repel all polish; gel, regular, any brand, whatever, it never last long. So I never get regular manicures or gel, I opt for acrylics or dip powder colors. I've been coming here for SNS manicures for the past year. While my nails usually come out nice there's something missing in the service. The male technicians are rough and missing that special something(Je ne sais quoi?) that female technicians there have. There are two seasoned technicians who I love. They are friendly, they are accommodating, one has done this cool impossible looking three colored sns ombre I asked for. Overall Ive been happy with my nails but...The final straw for me was when a male technician who was doing my pedicure went from my feet in the middle of my pedicure with his gloved hand to another customer's soaking hands without changing gloves. I called him out to make sure the customer was aware of what was happen. I dont think she heard me but I made a gentle tactful "stink" about it. To which another female technician said: "Oh he has on gloves, its ok." I poignantly stated again "He should switch gloves he was just sloughing dead skin off  my feet and now he is handling another customer's hands with the same gloves..."How could that other customer not hear me? Did she not care? Aaah oh well. I give up! At least I wasnt on the receiving end of someone's dead skin juice. lol Finally he was done with my pedicure. The color wasnt what I wanted, they dont have a good selection of regular nail polish. It was also kind of painted on sloppily but I was on a time crunch and perfectionism on my toes isnt a deal breaker....but the next thing he did was....Went to get a lip wax..This ninja double dipped the wax stick. I will leave 3 stars. Not because of the outcome of my nails. My nails were great! Perfect color, perfect shape. A variety of colors which is always a plus. But my experience with one of the nail technicians (I didn't even get her name but she was three rows back, right side, second to the sns dip powder) wasn't so pleasant. She wasn't too disrespectful, she was very knowledgeable. However; she seemed as she was rushing and as if I was getting on her nerves. After a week my pinky nail broke. But no biggie,  I thought maybe I was too rough. But after another few days (literally like 2) my natural nail started to lift from the acrylic. It's funny to me how knowledgeable she was but missed important steps for this to not happen. I tried this place because it's close to my sons school. Called and made an appointment with Nancy after reading reviews. She was super nice and gave me a same day appointment. She definitely did an amazing pedicure as I tend to get ingrown nails on my big toe. She took her time and made sure I was satisfied with her work. Now to my nails. She made them look amazing. I'll be back! I gave 4 stars because the shop doesn't use the plastic bowl covers for pedicures and they don't do the medical wrap sanitizing if materials. Hey Bees,So I first off want to admit I am horribly picky when it comes to getting my nails done. I think when you pay $30-$50 for someone to do your nails they should look nice at the end.I've had some awful luck with acrylics, and a few years ago I finally found a place that did awesome work. They did really thin and even acrylics with a gel french manicure on top and then would keep thining down the acyrlics until my natural nails grew out while maintaining the gel manicure. Unfortunately I moved, and haven't found a new place.Today I went to a place my friend recommended, and I had heard great things from others. I got acrylics because my natural nails are really long and I wanted to treat myself.The man who did them did a horrible job. They are not all the same length, a bunch of them are crooked, and some corners are square, while some are way too rounded. PLUS they are SUPER thick, and he left a bunch of acrylic gunk under a few nails.I just needed to rant, because I tried a few times to tell him while he was doing it I was unhappy and he didn't really listen. It was my first time trying this nail salon. I read a lot of the yelp reviews and I thought I'd give it a shot since it was nearby and highly rated over the years. The parking was easy. No time limit and in a small plaza. I went during the week around 2 pm and the lot was getting crowded. Might be hard to find parking on the weekend.I walked in and like expected from the multiple yelp pictures the establishment seemed up to date. Television, lots of pedicure chairs with massagers and rows of tables for manicures. When I arrived a gentleman greeted me and went over the price list. Their prices are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE! I didn't feel like driving around to another salon so I just sucked it up. I got a gel french manicure and a regular pedicure. I paid $65 + $5 Tip = $70 (A BIT TO MUCH). The chairs were comfortable but I felt like the technician was a little too rough with my feet. In addition, she didn't speak much English. The communication barrier was a bit awkward. Every time she spoke it was hard to understand especially with a mask over her face. When she told me the price I could have sworn she said $55 and then at the end (once she took the mask off) she said $65.Will I be going back most likely not! I feel like there are shops with the same quality for cheaper prices. In addition, I felt like the utensils that they used are not sterilized enough. Therefore, I gave this nail salon a 3/5 rating. Love this spot, I used to go to Pretty Nails a few plaza down, but since I found this spot I don't think I'll ever go back lol. I get a pedi all the time, but I've gotten my first and second gel manicure here and loved them. Next I want to try the SNS dipping method. First time at this salon, had to find a new nail place after moving from New York to MD. I have an event this weekend so figured I would try it out. I was greeted upon entering and the energy in the salon felt very welcoming and relaxing at the same time. I enjoyed the volume of the music and ambiance, no one was on their phone and tones were kept to  a level that would not disturb you if you just had "one of those days".The salon looks very well kept and has that "fancy" feel when you want to pamper yourself. I haven't had anything done in a few months so I opted to try something new, SNS-Dip for my manicure and a Sugar scrub pedicure. I have to admit I miss the massages from the pedicures from New York, even without a spa pedicure they felt a little longer and firmer but that is all preference and nail technician. My massage was not bad just a bit shorter and softer than I am used to. I loved that the dip nail technique did not require going under light, there is some chemical smell but I feel like it is bearable and passes quickly. I am rating my experience a 4/5 also because the price point was a bit higher than I am used to, the massage felt a little short and soft, I miss New York's practice of also a shoulder massage when you have finished services. However I would still return, wish they had a customer point system for returners. This may be a once a month sort of treat unless I opt for a regular manicure but I will see if the length of the dip polish and make a final decision if the price point is worthy for another go ! I really wanted to adore this place because it's so close to my home. I usually got to Enchanted in DC or Athena in Baltimore. But I live here. I don't know if I'll be back. I have to think on it. I feel pretty "meh," which isn't a great feeling after dropping over $100.They're okay. They use quality products but I really didn't like the customer service. It's strange to me that a salon would have high end products and services, but also plain "Cute Nail" face-ass customer service.Cons-On jump, I felt rushed picking a color and a service.Upon entry, I asked how much they charge for Ombré dip powder and it's $60 plus a $5 take-off fee if you already have dip powder. I was confused and a bit put-off because at other salons the take-off is included if you're just replacing the same type of polish. I think it's a petty charge, but I kept my opinion to myself. After all, the nail tech doesn't set the prices. I just said "ok."After that, my nail tech spent the rest of the 90 minutes regularly discussing why "this" costs more than "that" and why they charge more than "other" salons etc. I'm a bit offended because I felt the implication is that I frequent cheap salons and just don't know things about nail salons (neither is true.)Any way, I ended up getting a basic pedicure and gel manicure with metallic finish (25/55=80). Note: I still wanted the Ombre dip powder, but the nail tech told me to get that "next time" and try something "different" for "less money" today. I told her it wasn't about money, I was concerned about my sensitive nails because they break. She insisted to he dip powder next time. I took her suggestion because I was concerned that maybe she just wasn't good at dip powder (although she assured me she was). Or maybe she didn't have time. I didn't want to press her to do my nails differently than she was comfortable so I took her suggestion.One last negative- my pedicure chipped that evening. Granted, my nails do take longer to dry than everyone else's. But I told them that so I wish something was done to prevent it. Maybe it's bad and I should just get gel pedicure. Idk.Now positives! I liked how fast the service was. My hands look bomb. They use quality products. They appear very up-to-date with the trends. Huge dip powder selection, omg, I've never seen so much dip powder.My thumb had a nasty scratch-like mark in the finish and it cured before I noticed. She appeared not to mind buffing it off and doing that nails over when I asked.All in all, I might return in a pinch. I might return to see if it's different. Also, for the reader, I would suggest giving this place a shot. I just wouldn't recommend it very enthusiastically.I'm just not used to being treated so poorly. This was my first time visiting V Nail Spa and I  will definitely be returning.  I received a gel mani and a paraffin pedi. My pedi was done by Ty and it was wonderful unfortunately he wasn't able to do the mani b/c he had an appointment so Vicki did my mani. They both we personable and kind. Trying to find a good nail shop is tiring y'all! Every time I see over three star reviews, I get excited. This obviously means nothing based on my recent experiences in the area. Ill go to a shop and the first time it'll be fantastic, subsequent visits are subpar. Although I've only visited V Nail Spa once, I can definitely tell you that I was very impressed. Lots of chairs for customers, services galore and the techs know their customers by name. The shop is ALWAYS packed. I've visited the Sprint Store right next door on servers occasions and peeped in VNS to see no seats available...on a Tuesday. So I wasn't surprised when I called to ask if they had the SNS Organic Dip Nail Powder (they do) and was told to make an appointment for a later time. No problemo. I can wait if the service is good. The nail stations are super close, so I was able to ask other customers about the quality and care at VNS. The response was overwhelmingly positive. My nail tech (Nancy) did a pretty good job ( I would say it was great if I had not been sitting next to two other clients who were getting the same service), but I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing another nail tech next time. Horrible experience today as it was my first time getting a pedicure here. I had gotten gel manicure overlay refills here twice and had mediocre service. I paid $32 for a parrafin pedicure which included callous treatment. Once finished, as I waited for my polished toenails to dry, I noticed my feet were still calloused on the bottom. I asked to speak to a manager but the nail tech that did my pedi came out. I explained the problem. He offered to correct it with additional callous treatment but I did not have time in my day to do so. Another tech hopped up as I asked my nail tech for another resolution to this problem, and she explained she could do the treatment again, but I explained that I didn't have time (Saturday afternoon) to do so. I asked for my receipt back to withdraw my additional tip I gave and the second tech further explained that "next time" she'll have the tech let the callous treatment stay on longer before scrubbing. There will be no next time. This place is a waste of money and time. I'm now forced to go to another Salon for a polish change because my polish was smeared As a result of leaving the drying station early to address the pedicure issue with management. They offered but I wanted nothing more to do with this place for one afternoon. Essential Day Spa which is less than a mile away on route 1 and is so much better! Should've went here first! It was OK. I got the organic sugar pedi.. I could've done it my damn self.My nail lady was friendly but I accidentally hit something when walking out and she was mad she had to re-paint.. understandable.. she quickly painted over and you can even see the line where it messed up. This is pretty much the only place I'll go for nails, brows, etc. it's the only place I'd consider taking my mother. It's clean, affordable, and efficient. I'll go out of my way to come here. I was a walk in on a Friday night. I was told it would be 45 minutes which was expected on a Friday at 6:30pm. But I was in a chair in about 15 minutes. Ana did my SNS mani, pedi, and eyebrows. I'm giving it a 4 because I had 2 really great experiences and then one horrible one. The horrible time i was way overcharged. It was like she was just coming up with things to charge me with. All the tools the nail technician used came from medically sealed packages and she did a really detailed, thorough job. This again made the price feel worth it.
