I saw this salon did SNS and had decent reviews and thought I would give it a shot! I have gotten SNS numerous times from a salon in downtown Annapolis. I have also watched videos and know how SNS should be applied. Lux is advertising on their website and brochure in the salon that they use SNS. If you are advertising SNS and charging $45 then customers should get SNS. Lux is using a knock off brand called Nugensis which you can buy online for $14. SNS can only be purchased by professionals with a license.I asked for SNS and got Nugensis. I had my nails done on Thursday evening and by Monday one had already popped off. I returned Monday and had that nail redone. Tuesday I had another one pop off and 4 other nails were lifting at the cuticle. I returned Wednesday to have 3 more done again.On my third return today, I asked why they were using Nugensis and not SNS. She lied and said it was SNS when she had the container in her hand. She also cut my cuticle on 3 fingers, you shouldn't leave a nail salon bleeding. She said I had thin skin.  Nice excuse for not knowing what you are doing. I want a refund. I was scammed and paid $45 for SNS and did not get SNS. They wasted a lot of my time too! If I wanted nails that would pop off in 4 days I would have gone to Walmart. Buyer beware, I would go somewhere else. Also, if you return for a repair don't expect them to be nice to you. If you scam me, why are you giving ME attitude. Read Less

I’ve been going here for a little over a year now and have never been disappointed! They have several colors to choose from and offer their opinion if they don’t think something will look good. The salon is very clean, and when there’s downtime there’s always someone cleaning (sweeping, folding towels, wiping things down). My first experience was amazing! However, my second experience on 2/1/2018 was the most traumatizing experience I've ever had in a nail salon. The lady I went to the first time was busy so I trusted my experience would still be pleasant. Once I got seated, the first technician began sanding the gel off my nails. (I thought this was odd instead of the normal process of the aluminium foil, cotton balls and acetone). Mind you, the sanding took about 30 minutes.... Once this technician finished sanding, she then asked me to move chairs where I was to wait for the gentleman to finish his current customer. He began sanding some more and then I asked for a trim down of my nails where he was appalled that I asked for this. He asked if I wanted one nail cut down. I said I would like them to be the same length so all of them. (Who would want one nail cut?) He began putting the acrylic on and then started cutting them down with the sander (again with the sander?) He cut them almost to my skin... Then pulled out the filer where he only filed one side of each nail!!! My cuticles were SCREAMING! The sides of my finger tips on my right hand were all bleeding. I asked for him to not be as rough and to make the lines not crooked. He got very offended and paced to the back of the salon in anger. I asked him if he understood what I meant by them hurting and being very crooked. He shook his head started on my left hand and began painting immediately. There was no apology when I pointed out the blood on every finger. Just anger. I had the expectations of having a relaxing experience after work to prep for my best friends wedding. I was wrong!!! My first time here and I have to say I was quite impressed(mind you I'm quite particular with my nails)! My gel manicure came out perfect. A mini hand massage with sea salt scrub along with a hot towel wrap to end the service was a nice touch! :) Have to try their pedicure next time. The interior was very modern and most importantly, CLEAN! I was a walk in on a Monday afternoon and they were able to accommodate me within a few minutes.  I knew I wanted to treat myself to a special pedi so I elected to do the Hotstone massage pedicure and a gel manicure.  The pedicure was nice and relaxing and they automatically give you a complimentary bottle of water.  I did see a wine bar section but not sure when they offer that.  My tech was a young guy who was very gentle which was nice since I've had experiences where techs can be really aggressive while they are cleaning and digging into your cuticles.  He was just as gentle on my hands even though my cuticles were falling apart and sensitive already.  A different tech finished off with my gel mani and she was pretty nice.  I absolutely LOVE how the colors came out!  She did not miss a spot!  Pricing was definitely reasonable and I will be a repeat customer. Visited this nail salon for the first time yesterday--Jaden was fantastic! The salon was clean and nicely decorated. He offered a complimentary wine with my manicure. I've tried every nail salon in the Annapolis area since moving here a year ago and Lux Nail Bar is by far the BEST!!! My gel manicure always lasts over 2 weeks and their pedicures are so relaxing. Everyone does a great job, but Sophia is my favorite!! In fact, my water broke mid-manicure a few weeks ago and she insisted on finishing the manicure while waiting for my husband to pick me up! I have been to Lux 3 times now. All 3 experiences were top notch. The decor and atmosphere are clean, modern, and relaxing. The staff are very friendly, and one of my favorite things about Lux is they don't ask you if you want additional services. It drives me nuts when I come in for a manicure and halfway though the manicure the manicurist asks if I want a pedicure or wax. They have never done that to me at Lux, and I appreciate that. Also, I have never had a gel manicure last as long as the ones I've gotten here. No chips at all, ever. They stay on perfectly until they're so grown out I have to get a new one. Recently moved into the area from D.C.  This place is great! I got an SNS powder nail mani and hot stone pedi; I don't want to share my tech's name because I don't want everyone stealing them, but all techs do a great job here. Oh my goodness I found my new nail shop! I have very high standards for how I want my nails to look. I was literally in awe at how good they look. I always get the dip powder because it lasts so long, but not everyone does a good job with it since the process is so specific and tedious. I live in dc and will be driving all the way to Annapolis's to get my nails done because it's 100% worth it. A guy with tattoos (didn't get his name) did my nails and although I'm sure I was a pain in his butt (I'm picky) he had a good attitude and took his time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Read Less

LUX nails is the best nail salon I have every been to. The owner did a really good job with décor.  It is clean, well maintained and the salon is filled with aromatherapy.  I was so relaxed and felt taken good care of when done. Not only that they offer snacks and "beverages"  while you are being pampered. The team here are extremely skilled and pay very close attention to detail. Great layout, clean and relaxing. They offer the Jello pedicure here and it's absolutely amazing. They also give complimentary wine with your pedicure. Sofia is pretty fast, as she can do a full set in about forty-five minutes. She is precise in what she's doing and though she moves fast, I have NEVER been cut by her. The staff are also very professional and put together.
