Proximity almost alone is the winner here. The place is in general quite scuzzy, the "polish station" has hopefully seen better days, though I doubt it. Many bottles are old and crusty, with similar contents. The drying station for toes is merely a covered toe porch (read: no air), and everything about this place feels as if it's 30 years old, but can't be more than a few. Some of the technicians are good, some are friendly, so, I guess it's a crapshoot in a dingy hall. But seriously, at least clean up the polish station. I enjoyed this place! My husband is in the military and we moved behind them February 2016. Tried them on a whim when I first moved there and fell in deep like and stuck with them for a full year. We have since moved, again, February 2017. I was looking up nail salons around me in the city we are now in today (May 2017) and looked them up in hopes of being able to compare them and pick a similar place and was shocked to see the negative and very low amount of reviews! Such is life. People only review if they've had a bad experience. I definitely owed it to them! Anyways, great prices, fantastic customer service, great job, etc! I am bad about planning ahead and half the time I walk into places hoping they do walk-ins. I was definitely guilty of that here and they always took me in right away! I only use gel nail polish as it is the best and stays on for an incredibly long amount of time without chipping or getting ruined in any way. They had EVERY color and every shade of color here! Everyone always asked if my nails were fake and where I got them done. They have always been my real nails, they just did that good of a job! 😍 So friendly as well! It is family owned and operated, which I prefer and the following reason is why -> they each treated me as if I was a part of their family. They were very attentive and I also got my eyebrows waxed when I needed it and they did a perfect job! They did it in private rooms which I loved! People stare when getting waxed and I don't like that lol. Last but not least, my favorite guy allowed you to text him if you wanted to make appointments which was VERY convenient and I NEVER carry cash so it was important to me to be able to not only use my credit card but to be able to tip the person who took such good care of me without having to do so separately with cash. This place doesn't deserve the one star I gave. The person that filled my nails told me it wasn't his problem to do my nails well and refuse to fix them! My daughter's gel polish came off completely the same day. Absolutely poor service and products! Read Less

So I have been to this salon twice, by a recommendation of my daughter... and I will say this I will not be going back... It never pays to try someone new, I went back twice thinking that the first time maybe she was just having a bad day , so I gave her the benefit of the doubt.. both times they were not welcoming at all, I have had my nails done twice by the Owner Tina, who apparently thinks that her nail business is so booming that she can walk around with an attitude and provide poor customer service!!...needless to say I felt very rushed the second time and no remorse at all that the entire time she was burning my cuticles because of the electric nail file.. and then to top it off when she painted my $45 dollar set of nails with Gel Polish, the gel didn't even fill the entire nail bed ... After I was under the dryer (and by me knowing by getting gel nails for almost a year that they are suppose to be gone over with a cotton ball of alcohol to remove the tacky top coat from the top , when I asked her was she going to do that she stated " don't worry about it , I know what I'm doing"-- i would never ever recommend this nail salon to anyone PERIOD!!!! and i will most definitely spread the word around Annapolis about how they are !! No worth my $45 and I will be disputing this charge through my bank ... Not to mention the entire time your sitting there, they make you uncomfortable by speaking in there language and looking at you with there smirks on there face , knowing the entire time there probably talking about you... Holly's Nails is a great place with friendly, experienced staff. Their prices are about the same or lower than most nail salons in Annapolis. They have a large selection of nail color, both gel and regular polish. The salon is clean and comfortable. They are very accommodating to their customers. Please don't be swayed by the three negative comments people have written. I noticed none of them live in Maryland which makes me wonder if they've really ever been to Holly's. Whether they are authentic customers or not, I would have to disagree with all of their negative comments. Read Less

My newest obsession. I've lived next door for a year and a half now, and I just came in for the first time two weeks ago, when my manicurist convinced me to get a gel manicure. BEST DECISION EVER! I went back today and got it refreshed, and the guy who did it (I didn't get his name, but the photo of his baby son is hanging on the wall!) did an INCREDIBLE job. Like, Hollywood incredible. The photo doesn't do it justice. And every time I come in here, everyone is super nice and accommodating.I seriously love this place, and I'm going to come back every two weeks or so to pamper myself and make sure they stay in business.(Ignore the puffy preggo hands in the photo) Read Less

Had excellent service and great selection of colors. Only issue is that the $25 pedicure says it ends with a massage of the foot and leg. I don't really consider what they did a massage... This is a great mid-level salon. Clean, big and bright inside. I've never waited more than a few minutes for a spot. Prices are comparable to most of Annapolis. Sometimes they run low on colors but when they are fully stocked, they have a great selection. They go the extra mile if a top coat, which I find is becoming rare at smaller salons. I've been to Holly's Nails several times now and have had both pedicures and one gel manicure.  I find that the prices are pretty comparable to anywhere else in Annapolis and perhaps even a little lower.  Some of these other reviews mention horrible experiences which thank goodness I've never had.  The place is clean and welcoming, though sometimes things can get a little lost in translation.  Something to keep in mind is that while you can pay with a credit card if you choose to tip you should bring cash. If you think hemorrhaging blood from your index finger is a good time please go to this nail salon. The manicurist was in such a hurry she nearly took my whole finger off with the cuticle. She also didn't understand me when I said I wanted a French Manicure and instead insisted on a single nail color. Well that's all good and fine if she would actually do a decent job at it. I will give this salon big time kudos for cleanliness but for the sub par pedicure I received, I felt this salon is over priced. Sure, most nail salons are quick. You're in, you're out but I'm never one to settle when it comes to beauty. Your toe nails should match in length and shape and I really hate it when salons do the bare minimum.As I mentioned, the salon is more expensive then other salons that specialize in just nails and you don't get what you pay for. What's a bigger rip off is each bottle was filled with paint thinner before application. Mine was and so was the polish for my sister. Cutting corners is not cool.I recommend getting your summer pedicure elsewhere. Read Less
