I made an appointment on Friday for a Saturday appointment at 10am. I live 30 minutes from this place but thought I’d give it a try because of some of the good reviews. After I have long left my house, I received a call 20 minutes before my appointment starts stating that the technician called in and they have to cancel my appointment. It’s Saturday and most decent places are closed and I have a pool get-together I’m supposed to attend and cannot find a place open for a wax. I can deal with life happening, a technician calling in... but the woman did not sound sorry at all and she did not even offer anything to compensate for this egregious inconvenience. My mom and I were in town getting my car serviced and had a few hours to kill. I found this salon on google and called to see if they could a wash and blow out. They got us right in! Susan did a beautiful job on my daughters hair!! She wanted the fantasy hair/mermaid and it looks amazing!! The color has lasted and it is as bright as the day she did it! She was flexible we our schedule and even worked after closing to make sure she had the best colors! Susan also turned my dark brown hair to light blonde/silver. I’m going all silver naturally and wanted a lower maintenance hair color and she delivered. We have done teo sessions and more to come to completely go.. she is saving my hair from severe damage! I have already got a ton of compliments! She also gave a stylish cut and got me out of the Mom/gym rut!! For real she is honest and buts her heart into it! One more thing! Jaimi the esthetician does a great job doing microdermabrasion,facials, eyebrow waxing and tinting and also great lash lifts. Paul is the best message therapist. The first time I went I fell asleep, it was so relaxing. Joseph does a great job cutting hair and coloring!! The spa is newly remodeled and it is a very relaxing. I wanted to try out a new place. I chose this salon thinking hey it has good reviews they should be well experienced, why not. I asked my stylist to stop before she was finished with my hair bc it wasn’t what i asked for. She kept touching my hair and i asked again please stop and let me pay you and leave. Before i could get her paid i was in tears. My hair was long layered past my bras strap i asked for about 2 inches or so cut off the length to get it healthy and to be layered up with some “short” layers. The length is acceptable but my layers in the front star at my ears. And the length in the front is also a great deal shorted than what i asked for like my hair behind my ears is even with the back and from my ears forward is about to my chin. I ended up with an inexperienced stylist. After i went out to my car i squalled and went back in just to make the owner aware of what my hair looked like and that i was so upset. She simply says I’m not a hair dresser. As i go to leave my stylist offered to finish and blend it for me however at that point i had lost total confidence in her abilities to do so bc she has already messed my hair up so much. Never once did they say sorry or offer me my money back that i should have refused to pay in the first place or to even give me an appointment with another stylist who was experienced to try to “fix” it. Paul Sippell, the massage therapist at Dolce Vita, is absolutely amazing. I've seen him monthly for a few years now and the massage always does wonders for my fibromyalgia pain. Paul always checks to see which areas are bothering me and makes sure to focus on those. He is such a sweet guy too, it is always a pleasure to see him. I moved to Shreveport in 2007, and was desperate to find a good hairdresser. I had the good fortune to find an excellent HD in New Orleans and stayed with him for 15 years. I was spoiled! I asked a nurse at WK  When my husband had a heart BY-pass 4 weeks after we moved. I also asked the wife of one of the office workers and she recommended the SAME hair dresser as the nurse! That can't be a coincidence! So I called Stephenie at Dolce Vita and had her cut & color my hair. It's been a great relationship for the last 11 years. Had been given a groupon for a 90 min massage as a gift.  Received a massage from Jennifer.  As I have had many massages in the past over the years, this was by far the worst experience.  I'm still not sure why they even ask about "areas you prefer to concentrate on" when you fill out the registration on site.  I even discussed with the MT that i was a runner & did strength training & stayed immensely sore in my legs & hips.  After adjusting the A/C several times during the massage & being repeatedly massaged on my upper back only, the last 30 mins was spent with almost no massage oil, me laying face up with the MT behind my head grinding on my shoulders with no oil.  I left less-relaxed then when I arrived, & the last 30 minutes was so uncomfortable, I watched the clock debating whether to politely ask the MT to stop just so I could leave & be done.  I would not recommend this place for a massage to anyone.  ...can't imagine if I would have personally paid full price for a 90min. session.  ...not sure how much was charged for the groupon as I received as a gift.  It pained me to give the MT a $10 tip as the experience was terrible but I felt like maybe she was just miserable at her job & felt sorry for her. This place is adorable and has a really relaxing atmosphere! I had an event to attend and I wanted to treat myself by getting my makeup done for once. I made an appointment with Kathryn and was so happy with my experience. She was so pleasant to talk to on the phone and when I got to my appointment she made me feel completely comfortable. She asked what my daily makeup routine was, which is more extensive than the average girl since I need a lot of coverage for my acne and redness, and she gave me a look that was glamorous, without being over the top. I had the sense she really knew what she was doing. She explained which colors work best for my skin tone and she gave me some tips I'll be using in my everyday makeup routine. She shaped my eyebrows to really emphasize my eyes and she highlighted and contoured my face PERFECTLY. And anybody with acne/acne scars that has tried to highlight and contour themselves knows that it's easy to look like you have cake-face. I looked like I'd lost ten pounds in my face because she defined my features so well! So many people complemented my look at the event, and it made me feel much more comfortable in my skin.
