Star Nails is the best salon in Prairieville. I've tried several salons  in Baton Rouge close to my work but have always been disappointed.  I always come back to Star Nails. The salon and stations are clean. Nail technicians are well trained and professionals. They do provide nail art but call to make sure the artist is available before you come. There's a slight discount if you have cash payments.Prices are comparable to other surrounding salons.  I would try to come early in the day because afternoons are normally booked up and you would have to wait. The only place I come to since I moved. When I lived in BR I thought it was gonna be hard to find a nail place that did as good as my girls before at my previous shop. Well luckily after the first visit to this place when I moved, I knew I found my new nail plugs. The staff is friendly and they remember you when you come in often. The lady who does my eyebrows does them just as good as my past eyebrow lady which is hard bc some people have seriously jacked me up. Went there today and they were so prejudice. They told me they didn't do foil soak offs for dipping powder, but a customer that didn't look like me had foil to soak off her dipping powder. They attempted taking my dipping powder off with false nails ripping my nails. They then attempting cutting it clippers and damaged my other nails. They finally allowed me to soak them off like a normal acrylic soak off. I was so angry I just paid for the soak off and left with the damaged nails. They did not apologize for messing up my nails nor did they offer to not charge me. I have never had such bad service. Definitely would not recommend. Read Less

For convenience this place is great! Their prices are about average and you do get a discount for playing in cash. The artificial nails came out well, and lasted! The only beef I can come up with is they don't tell you the wait time when you get there. And when you ask they say 5 minutes each time so you have to pester them a bit... but they did a great kiddie manicure on my child and French tip acrylic nails for me. I'll be back! Read Less

I wish I discovered this place sooner! It's so cute inside and has an actual bar! I'm not sure how that works but it's definitely unique.  The inside is dimly lit and has a more relaxing vibe more akin to a massage parlor than the nail salons I'm used to.  I got a polish change and the lady that did my nails did an amazing job! It was perfection and dried without any issues.  My nails have not chipped at the tips and it's been nearly TWO WEEKS!  The only reason you can tell it's an old paint job is because my nails are growing out at the base, other than that it looks pretty amazing for not being gel!.  I'm sad they are not busier than they are because they are very attentive and efficient.  Prices were standard, my polish change was $8 which is pretty reasonable. I really had high hopes for this place walking in because it looked so nice and put together! I'm only rating this 2 stars because I believe it has potential on a weekday much less a Friday when I went in to get a gel mani and pedi. I went early enough to leave at a decent time (2PM) but left at (5PM). There were 5 people working with many people walking in as the time went by... each time someone would walk in, they would place them in a chair (good) but then start working on that person and then return to me which prolonged my time there... I was not a happy camper but still I stayed and got what I went for. My French pedi is THE WORST I've ever received and I solely believe it's that way because it was rushed due to the steady traffic coming in. Grant it, I'll never visit this place again but if you would like a nice beverage while getting a subpar pedi & mani, this is the place for you!! Read Less

Pretty cool place. Very strange and eclectic looking inside. The staff were professional and friendly. They were able to get me in for a gel manicure almost immediately on a Friday afternoon, so that was awesome. They did a very good job on my nails and the price was right! Read Less

This is my go to nail place! Service and results are always great! They are friendly but they don't talk your ear off Lol The environment is relaxing and does not have that strong smell a lot of nail places have! The only thing is if they are busy one person will be doing your nails then while you soak they go to someone else and back and forth- it doesn't really bother me. Go early if you want to avoid the crowd! Pay cash if you want a discount! Collect stamps on a card to get discounts in the future! Read Less

I think they do a great job. Only thing is when they are very busy they tend to rush and not pay attention to what they are doing because too worried about making sure everyone is being helped. I got a new set of nails and the guy nicked the side of my finger and I was bleeding all bc he was too worried about everyone else walking in. I love Star Nails, Tommy the owner use 2 do my nails 3 yrs ago & they end up closing their shop down & so we lost contact, but I found him again, the atmosphere here is so wonderful & the techs r so pleasant so I am glad we have reconnected, thk God 4 them AMEN. Read Less
