Bachelorette Weekend 2018! What an amazing experience had at Spa Atlantis! I arranged for myself and my bridesmaids to have our final day in NOLA be at Spa Atlantis and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The spa itself was beautiful and the service was wonderful. I initially wasn't sure what was going to happen and was nervous about timing of flights that same day. However, Brian one of the owners immediately put me at ease and coordinated everything so well prior to the day. It was such a busy and event filled few days leading up to the spa, it was certainly nice not having to worry. We all also completely didn't remember the day before was St. Patricks Day so the relaxation was certainly needed and desired. We all had such a great time and I can't wait to come back again with my soon to be husband! Thank you to all the massage therapists, facial technicians  and additional staff. My friend and I got the 80 min massage for $120. Our massages were shorter than 80 mins as that seemed to include the time it took to get us to fill in the forms and get us tea. I enjoyed my massage but my friend's masseuse didn't seem to get the right pressure points on his back. The massage on his front was better but he definitely wouldn't go back.I docked one star because when you pay, the lady asks you how much you want to tip, suggests an amount and puts it in for you. I was told a shampoo and style (curled) would be 50, since I had long hair which I was ok with. I got there and while she was SHAMPOOING MY HAIR she informed me my shampoo and style would be 65.00!! I went to the spa located on Gravier St the day before my wedding. I did schedule an appointment for a manicure the day before, so I am not sure about walk-ins. They were open a few minutes before actual opening time, which impressed me a lot because I like to come to an appointment a little early. They were ready for me the moment I stepped into the door too. There was no wait time. They let me select from their nail polish and sat me at the table. Elsa was very personable and made sure I paid, as well as made sure I did not need to do anything else with my hands before beginning, which I found thoughtful. The job she did with my manicure was very superb. One of the best I have had. Everyone complimented my nails everywhere I went after that, and my wedding photos with the rings turned out beautiful thanks to Elsa. I am also a spa snob and travel 25-30 trips per year, mostly in the USA.  Adrian Cordos gave me the most amazing, professional, European, deep tissue massage I could of ever hoped for. First let me start by saying Five stars for the massage and service but the nail treatment a two.  I arrived in New Orleans slightly after 9 am.  Called the spa around 9:30 but they don't open until 10. Called back at 10 am to see if there was any appointment availability.  To my surprise they were able to accommodate a "blissfully spoiled " package at 11 am. I went straight from airport. They kindly took my luggage for safe keeping when I arrived.  The ladies facility was clean and orderly.  After changing into the robe,  I completed paperwork and was taken to the room by my message therapist Ashley at exactly 11. I was very sore and tight from weight training. Ashley was made aware and took the necessary steps to work and stretch those muscles without over working or causing undo pain.  As she went she adjust her pressure to match my response while slowly adjusting pressure to maximize benefit.  I felt totally relaxed when we finished.  If I could have laid and gone to sleep I would have. ... That's where the relaxing ends.  Let me preface the next part by saying I am paranoid of getting nipped at the nail salon and getting an infection so I stop going to the quick fix shops. Instead I go to private hotel or nail spas that aren't focused on numbers but quality.  Doris has a heavy hand which is excellent for the pressure message but not on cuticles.  When she started pushing my cuticles back I instantly tensed up.  She told me to relax which indicates she sensed my tension.  She used several tools I'm not familiar with but I attributed it to being in a different state which may have policies. The pressure and tools should have been my cue to stop.  The aestheticians I frequent don't aggrevate the cuticles they will instead use cuticle oil and/or a oil/fungicide that will soften the  cuticle area beyond treatment.  Doris tried to manually attack the cuticle. She literally trimmed around my cuticles like she was snipping a hang nail.  At some point she cut my skin. Considering my skin is pigminted Im not sure how she move beyond cuticles to flesh.  She applied the topical treatment which burned like heck. Her response was that shows its working :( . I was also concerned bc she manually wiped down the tools with the barbicide instead of letting them soak.  I think when you know you broke skin you should take extra precautions. I told Doris I've seen ppl end up in boots from a nail shop infection to which she appeared shocked.  I went further and explained why it's such a serious issue,  something I thought was taught in cosmetology school.  When she did my toes I asked her not to touch my cuticles. I gave her permission to push them back but not cut them.  Fast forward....  The polish started chipping day one.  I'm out of town for vacation and haven't done any activities that would chip them. (at home I was dishes style hair and can last a week). In addition I purchased extra strength antibacterial ointment to apply to cuticle area.  Day two I woke up and I felt pain in my cuticle area. I have kept it clean and apply ointment multiple times throughout the day. If it continues I will go to my pcp upon return.  If I'm ever in New Orleans again I would come authentically to receive a massage from Ashley but would NOT do any nail treatments Read Less

It's been years since I've had a professional massage so my husband set up a massage plus mani pedi as a 30th birthday present and this was my first visit to this spa. Stephanie was amazing and really focused on my problem areas around my shoulders and low back. Very relaxing and clean place as well! Elsa did a great job on my nails and was very sweet, we had a great conversation the whole time. Overall, the atmosphere and staff were very friendly. It is a little cramped, so I don't recommend going with a large group. I was there last week with a wedding party and I have to say that I am pretty disappointed with my manicure. I got a gel mani and regular pedi, and it cost $90 (without tip). Within 1 hour, my thumb had already chipped, and within a day, I could see where the polish was beginning to separate from my nail. Now, one week later, the polish is completely peeling off. The girls there were very friendly, and we did get complimentary mimosas (at least I think that they were free, lol), but I am super bummed that the gel that I paid for is coming off so soon. In the past, gel manis have lasted me AT LEAST two weeks, and sometimes up to 4. If I had known, I would've been fine with a regular manicure and I could have saved some money. The location is decent, easy to walk to if you're staying in the French Quarter. I'm pretty sure that they're a chain of sorts, so maybe different locations vary in terms of their quality. I found this place around the corner from my hotel...I walked in on a Saturday and easily made an appointment of Sunday with very little trouble. The spa is very clean and very well organized. I ordered the 50 minute which ran $90 but I walked out feeling really good about the value and the price. I am a spa snob. If I am going to turn my body over to someone else, I expect results. My experience at Spa Atlantis made me glad I was using a gift certificate and not paying out of my own pocket. I decided to try something new. First mistake? Cause it was obviously new to the therapist as well. Started with a foot treatment. I love having my feet worked on. One massage therapist used to tell me my g-spot was in my feet. It felt like the therapist could have used prep time, as she left me alone on the table (while still in the room, but no hand on me) three times to get her supplies. So instead of a 30 min treatment, I had three 7 minute treatments with down time between them. One should never be wondering what is going on while on a treatment table. I even asked her at two different times if we were done, cause I had not been touched in a few minutes. My feet were exfoliated and poked at, but never satisfactorily massaged. Net I had a scalp treatment. Sounds fun, right? Nope, kind of a nightmare. I had pictures of scalp stimulation, tickles, maybe even one of those head scratcher things that looks like a metal claw. Nope. I was told before the treatment that I may want to wash my hair after. Wish that had been mentioned at time of booking (I am old fashioned, I called and spoke to someone, did not book on internet). I have thick hair to the middle of my back. They saturated it in hot oil. WHAAAAATTTTT??????It is 24 hours later and there is still so much oil in my hair I have to use a towel to get the parts dripping down my neck. Fun. There was not a single person working the hair salon and no one available to wash my hair for me. It takes me two hours to wash my hair, I did not have that kind of time scheduled, so I went to dinner that night with oil dripping down my neck.Don't do it, people, just don't do it. Read Less

This relaxing spa is a must! The prices are reasonable and the staff is extremely accommodating. From the moment I called to inquire more about the services to booking, the staff was helpful and polite. I did the Escape Reality package. It offers an 80 min massage, and Atlantis facial.I came in a few minutes early, I was shown to the ladies room where I changed into a robe. There was a fully stocked vanity, shower area, and lockers to place your belongings. While waiting for my therapist I was greeted with a yummy mimosa!Ashley did my massage. Let me tell you, she is fantastic. She really knows how to relieve your aches and make you relaxed. The amount of pressure was perfect, and her technique was on point.Jeanette did my facial and really personalized it specifically for my face. I was in the CBD for a job interview and wanted to get my nails done beforehand. I was able to make a same-day appointment with Spa Atlantis, which is just a short walk from where I would be interviewing. They were a little busy because of a bachelorette party group, but I felt very welcomed by the front desk staff, and I was quite comfortable while waiting for my service, as I was provided with a drink. I selected the deluxe spa manicure, which is a regular polish manicure but with an almond-scented hand scrub and mask, as well as a hand massage. My manicurist, Elsa, was friendly and professional. The entire appointment took about an hour start to finish, and I was allowed to sit with my nails under the dryer for as long as I wanted. After a long weekend of walking decided to treat myself to a nice spa day.  Chose the "Escape Reality" package which included a facial and 80 minute massage.  Was very impressed that they could take me on such short notice, I live in an area where that doesn't happen very often.  I was very warmly greeted and shown to the dressing room.  After I had changed there was a lovely glass of champagne waiting for me.The facial and massage was excellent, both girls were very good and friendly.Very pleased with everything and will definitely be back when in the area. Received a couples massage with my hubby; Ash performed my portion. She was great, very thorough, not too hard pressure. The massage included aromatherapy and hot towels, which were awesome. The ambiance is soothing, with a complimentary beverage (wine or mimosa) included. The shower is fantastic, body jets as well as an overhead rain head and a hand held, to boot. The robes are very nice, too. There's a quiet area to relax after getting ready and if you need to chill after your massage there are fuzzy blankets to wrap up in. If you have sensitive skin, be warned. I indicated to the lady who did my facial that I had sensitive skin and that I had been on retinols in the past. I just wanted something nice and soothing Well, I didn't get that, and this was the most painful facial I've ever had! She was so rough with scrubs and extractions that by the end of my treatment my whole face was on fire. When I said something about being uncomfortable she argued with me and said it was only supposed to tingl...e. Well, I warned her of my sensitivities and so I'm telling you, it's stinging! It's now the next day and my face looks even worse than it did before. On the side of my nose is a scab where she was way too rough extracting some black heads. Where I was just sensitive before, my skin is dry and cracking and even the mildest lotions burn going on. On top of it, I got my eyelashes tinted and while they look nice, she got the black tint in my eyebrows so now I have a black splotch above one eye that looks ridiculous. What should have been relaxing was the exact opposite, and sadly I'll have to spend 2-3 weeks now repairing the damage that was done to my face. The rest of my visit in New Orleans is going to be filled with trying to cover up and hide this redness, irritation and scabbing. Be very careful of who you trust to do work on your face! I'm not new to massage. I have a table in my home and a therapist of 12 years who visits me there every other week. I use massage to undo what I do to myself at work and when I run. Two days after running the Rock and Roll Marathon in February I scheduled an 80 minute Swedish massage with Ashley at 10am on a Tuesday. I showed up and after filling out the obligatory "what brings you hear today?" questionnaire, Ashley came out and went over the information with me. It was c...lean, and quiet, and more importantly...calm. Needless to say my legs were a little stiff, as were my shoulders and lower back. I didn't have to provide any guidance, as Ashley read the feedback my body gave her as she did her work, a great combo of pressures with rubs, kneading and stretches. Came in for a couples massage. The location is clean, nice, and peaceful given the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood. The staff were very warm and  welcoming from the moment we entered. Found this place while here for my husband's conference. So glad I did!! I got a facial and massage!! Both were fantastic & relaxing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.   I was treated with a mimosa upon arrival.  That was a nice treat prior to my treatments.  The prices were also reasonable compared to the Ritz or Waldorf spas which allowed more shopping for me! The best last minute decision while in new Orleans! I walked in around 1pm looking for a 50 minute massage and was able to get in at 3pm that day. The receptionist was super sweet and she also have me some good recommendations for dinner that night. I was taken upstairs right at my appt time. They offer beverages with all services I believe. My therapist was Lauren. She was FANTASTIC! Before we started we talked about which areas needed attention. I told her about a pinched nerve and she knew exactly how to take care of it. You can definitely tell she is skilled and knows her stuff. Perfect pressure and not afraid of working out knots. The salon is very clean and the tables have heaters which feels so good! I had a Brazilian with Whitney and she was wonderful. First, the spa is very clean, even the baseboards! If you're getting work on the nether regions, this is a must! I pay attention, and there was no double dipping. I will stop a service dead in its tracks for that nonsense. It was a little pricey at $60, but for the cleanliness and attention to detail, it was worth it. When I entered, I was promptly greeted and offered a cocktail or beverage while being escorted back to the waiting area. I didn't have to wait long at all before Whitney came to get me for my service. After my service I was offered a mimosa and relaxed before checking out and going on my way! As I walked in, I realized that I've been to this location several years ago for a rather indifferent massage. I'm sort of glad I didn't remember because my massage this time was AMAZING. Ashley was great and my 80 minute massage was the perfect length to make me feel like a puddle.Love that you can do online booking so you can see what's available in advance. Including booking same day. AND you can choose a specific person or anyone or enter a preference for gender. The space is very calming and depending on your service they do have a good locker area and I think showers. Street parking only and make sure you pay the meters for the right amount of time since nothing ruins a relaxing spa experience like coming out to a parking ticket. Read Less

I enjoyed my massage experience. It's a habit to try spas while away from home. I rated this a four - only because of where I've been in the world. But definitely check this place out when in Nola. The prices are right. An oasis of calm in the frenzy of the French Quarter. Downstairs is their hair and facials salon. Upstairs are the massage rooms. I've had a lot of massages and my masseur was a real pro, using various techniques to stretch and relax my muscles from a day walking the convention center and another day being a tourist. We came here as a gift from friends, and were very pleased with the service. Our couple's massage was nice, and the masseuses did their jobs well.The location is nice in the FQ, located in an old building that is tastefully done inside. TIP: There are two locations of the Spa Atlantis within 10 minutes walking of each other.  Google Maps sent me to the wrong one when I typed in "Spa Atlantis" and because I didn't realize there were two, I didn't double check the address.  Luckily, they were very understanding about the mistake and my being 15 minutes late was not a problem.FRENCH MANI & PEDI: It took about two hours for my french mani/pedi, which was done meticulously (and so far, is lasting much longer than any other mani/pedi I've ever gotten). I also had a few split nails which she patched with a layer of pink shellac - genius, as it not only held up for the weekend, but is still holding up almost a week later.  It was VERY pricey though - $95 after tip!!!  Definitely not an amount I'd normally pay to have nails done, but I had a special event to go to and being able to have my split nails fixed for the occasion was totally worth it. I visited Spa Atlantis on 8/2/2014 for my 30th birthday!!!  My husband treated me to the 6 hour Atlantis Complete Relaxation package!  Here are all the details (I took notes during my visit so I could be as accurate as possible)!!RESERVATION:  I spoke with Katie D.  She was friendly, warm, welcoming and thorough.  She even answered some questions before I could ask them (like would lunch come with the package).  I wanted to upgrade my massage and get a certain masseur and that was flawlessly handled as well.  I had dinner plans after my spa day and she assured me that I could use their facilities to get ready so I wouldn't have to go back home!ARRIVAL:  I was greeted by Katie when I got there.  She asked if I'd like a mimosa, water, coffee or tea.  INSERT MIMOSA #1!!!  She had me view the lunch menu (included) and make my selection so that everything would be ordered and ready during the time designated for my lunch.  She had David take me on the tour of the spa (the lounge, locker room, showers and restrooms. FACILITY: It is a small facility, but it's very welcoming.  The hair and nail portion are downstairs.  The treatment rooms are upstairs.  I love that because the separation allows for quiet treatment rooms.  Although it's a busy area, there are no windows in the treatment rooms so you do not hear any of the French Quarter noise back there.  I LOVE the exposed brick.  Locker/shower/bathroom/lounge areas kept very clean.  Unisex locker/shower/bathroom/lounge (not an issue for me - meet nice people).SEA MUD WRAP with ASHLEY (75 min) (11am-12pm)Ashley had great conversation but not overwhelming.  Enough to show she's interested but not so much that you can't relax.  I wasn't really sure what to expect from this.  Just thought it would be cool to try something new and it was included in the package.  How in the world she managed to do this treatment and not have mud all over the room escapes me, but she did it.  Not sure what it was supposed to do, but it left me feeling really clean and refreshed!  The foot massage (while the mud set) was excellent.  It did end about 15 mins short, but there was really nothing else for her to do lol!  I got the full treatment in the hours time.WARM STONE MASSAGE with ADRIAN (75 min) (12:30pm-1:45pm)Amazing!!!  This man's hands must have been touched by God!  I requested him because of all of the feedback about him and I'm so glad I did.  He asked what type of pressure I usually like and I told him deeper pressure.  He explained that warm stone massages are generally lighter in pressure but he would go deeper for me ... and that he did!  Great balance of deep pressure and light stone touch.  I think he's European and some of the techniques he used were new to me and great!  I HIGHLY recommend him.  *INSERT MIMOSA #2*LUNCH (1:50pm-2:30pm)My lunch was waiting when I got out.  The restaurant did not have what I ordered so Katie had to order an alternate for me (after calling 3 other restaurants to see if anyone had the item).  She made a great choice and still got me the sides I originally ordered. The food was good.  ATLANTIS FACIAL with WHITNEY (50 min( (2:30pm-3:20pm)Whitney was very skilled and knowledgable.  She lets you know exactly what she's doing every step of the way and lets you know of anything she notices during your treatment.  I had some questions about getting a peel and she explained the process and gave me recommendations on products to use before getting the peel.*INSERT MIMOSA #3*DELUXE MANICURE with DORIS (50 min) (3:35pm-4:25pm)Doris has an amazing spirit.  She is an absolute sweetheart and cancer survivor!  I absolutely loved talking to her during my manicure.  She gave me some tips on strengthening my nails and helped me pick an amazing color.  The products used are of quality.  The polish application was average.  Service great.*INSERT MIMOSA #4DELUXE PEDICURE with DORIS (60 min) (4:30pm-5:15pm)I requested that we shave a little time off of this service because I needed to give everything time to dry so I could shower (poor planning on my part).  PLUS I keep my feet in pretty good condition so I didn't really need all that time.  Our great conversation continued throughout this service also.  The polish application was average.  Service great.  Doris told me that if I messed any nails up while showering she'd fix them for me!*INSERT MIMOSA #5 (while my nails dried)OVERALLIt was a great experience.  Everyone made me feel welcomed and like I was family.  The customer service was just amazing.  By the end of my visit everyone knew the occasion and wished me a happy bday.  And they really do give you a drink with every service - which we all see I took full advantage of lol!!!  I'll definitely be going to them for my "spa day" needs. My best friend had purchased a gift certificate for my husband and I at spa Atlantis after reading all the great reviews.. Today we went for a facial and massage.. After experiencing a wonderful time... My husband an I decided to make appointments to come back in month... We go to check out and lady at the cashier said your gift for $250 has only a balanced of $70 so I asked her, how come? She said we called and schedule an appointment and didn't cancel so there policy is to charge us for the service because of no show... Ok so I told the lady I will pay for the services to day plus I left a tip for the ladies that did our services... It's not there fault so that's what they derserve... So basically I would not err recommend anyone to go to spa Atlantis only to find out that you would be ripped off.. And they do not care about customer services... She had called the manager/ owner that couldn't give me an answer is to why they would have to charge almost $200 for a cancelation or a no show... So if I were to get my girl friends a gift certificate and they didn't know about the cancelation policy at spa Atlantis they would be losing there money... I felt like I was robbed of my money... I don't mind paying for a service and taking care of the ladies there, what I'm unhappy about is that they stole $200 from us... They have lost our Buisness, not only us but everyone else that we know... So no I don't recommend this place to anyone.... I was in Spa Atlantis today to get a chemical peel done. Being that I having trouble with the smoothness of my face, and the peels have always worked for me. I had been in earlier in the week to see if they could help me out and if they offered chemical peel. The Esthi. that helped me out then was great, she was knowable and confident. I booked my appointment for today. I was greeted by the owner, who is extremly nice and is well aware of great customer service. I was placed in the waiting area that is peaceful and relaxing. I was offered wine, champagne and other drinks but had to decline due to it being my lunch hour :) SInce my office building is right across the street is was easy to do it during lunch. The esthi. that did my chemical peel was great. She was nice, and had many options for me to try at home for daily care. I really enjoyed my time there, and wish I could have stayed longer. I was in NOLA for a dear friend's wedding and my hair looked a mess! I went to Atlantis for a color and a cut and not only was my hair BEAUTIFUL for the wedding, but when it started to rain as I was leaving the owner of the Spa DROVE ME TO MY HOTEL so my hair would not get spoiled. I was staying at the Hampton Inn on Gravier. A great hotel that I use every time I'm visit NOLA. Recommended by the conceirge was Spa Atlantis for a nice deep tissue massage. The place was beautiful and tranquil. The staff was warm and welcoming, Zoe who performed my massage was incredible. I felt completely at ease as she worked her magic hands to take me to another place. I was incredilby happy with my service, and returned the next morning to have treat myself to a delux pedicure. Sylvia was sweet, professional, and warm. She was very detailed, went out of her way to make me feel at ease while she worked. She offered me wine or champagne, which was a nice touch. I didn't feel rushed as I did at other spas I visited on past visits. I found the prices to be moderate but well worth it and will definitely book ahead on future visits. Read Less
