I have been a regular at this place for about a year. They have been patient the couple of times that I was late for my appointment which I appreciated, so I let the first couple of OMG! someone didn't put you on the books go by. Today was the last time. I thought I had booked an appointment 3 weeks ago at my last pedicure, but lo and behold when I got there they were booked with two weddings! my appointment was nowhere in sight. maybe the girl who put in the appointment didn't put it in, maybe they meant to reshuffle me and someone forgot. Don't go here if you want a professional environment and high-quality manicure by a licensed nail tech. I was in town for a 3-day business trip. I chose this nail salon for its close proximity to the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The business has 2 separate storefronts about 50 feet apart, one salon for hair and one salon for nails. (I went into the wrong store at first) The nail salon was cute - white and lavender modern decor. I was able to book 2 manicures for me and my girlfriend same-day. It was downhill from the moment I arrived. The young staff of 3 was very unprofessional. My girlfriend had to cancel her manicure due to illness, which the entire staff verbally heralded as a good thing. The gal doing my nails admitted that normally she does hair, not nails, but "they put me down here today, so whatever!" A gentlemen walked in and asked for a pedi - he was told he could have a pedi in 20 min (after my mani is reduced from 30 min to 20 min, I assume). After he left the staff made negative comments about him and then began talking about their aversion to psoriasis - how "gross" it is when folks have it on their feet. Associate #2 did not work during the 30 min I was there - she sat at the nail bar next to me, texting and chatting with the other 2 associates. WHILE she was painting my nails she had a fan blowing on them - the brush was drying out and my polish clumping. I have been going to Rissa for a few months now, and I absolutely love her! She always has fun with me and does my nails exactly to fit my personality. It is always a good time going to see her. The salon is always clean and well maintained. I highly recommend anyone to come here if you want a high quality experience, not only if you are on vacation visiting or if you live in New Orleans! Ashley was great!! My husband and I came in to get pedicures before our cruise. As we were walking to the Salon , it downpours on us and we probably looked like drowned rats coming in. I had my nails done by Rissa Mae today. She was kind, knowledgeable and turned my nails out! If you are traveling thru NOLA go see her. I loved the hand sanding for the dip acrylic and she took the time to understand exactly what my nails needs were. That’s a 5 star!!! Read Less

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place. I have a few issues with the subpar gel manicure I received. First, I asked for the girl to paint all the way back to the cuticle so It didn't look like I had growth. Well she did so on some of my nails, but not all so on some of my nails It looks like I have about a week's worth of growth. Second, some of my nails are not completely painted, specially my thumb. Third, once I got in the natural light I noticed that the color was not even on all my nails, so I have lighter spots in some places. Finally, and maybe the most crucial.... after 2 days the color has already lifted and I have not done anything invasive with my hands. Considering the gel manicure was $40 I would expect better. After reading the reviews, I decided to use Salon D Nola Too for my bridal party's nail services on my wedding day, and I'm so glad I did!  What a professional and fabulous group of women!  The salon was very beautiful and clean, and we all felt relaxed and pampered on what could have been a very stressful morning.  Everyone was very happy with their nails and we all left in awe of how talented, sweet, and fun the Salon D Nola Too ladies are.  I had a somewhat complicated Pinterest look in mind that they replicated beautifully (once I receive my wedding photos I will try to post a few).  I definitely recommend this nail salon for bridal parties (make sure to call fairly well in advance so they can have additional technicians available for your group).  Thank you, Salon D Nola Too!!!! Good location in the French quarter just next to the wedding chapel.So my issue- I paid for a gel manicure which was definitely provided but I'm writing this review less than 24 hours after receiving my service and I have three, yep three, nails that are peeling/chipped. This place is definitely a more luxury experience. It is very charming inside and you will enjoy your time. It will likely take longer and require an appointment, unlike quick in and out salons. The quality of the pedicure treatment is definitely high, but my polish lasted for a week on my toenails! When I do it at home it lasts for several weeks, so that was not ideal as I was going on vacation after I got my nails done here. Also the gel color I had done on my nails did not go all the way down to my cuticles and was very thick and uneven. Nice experience, but I would definitely not go here again especially for the price. Walked in for a gel manicure and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience and conversation with the two employees and other customers. Manicure looks great. This place is tucked away from the hustle and bustle, and the salon is very clean and pretty. While the aestheticians are very friendly and nice, I did not get a quality manicure. My cuticle was cut too close on one finger and it bled. Also, my manicure resulted in many bubbles under the surface. The manicure was rushed and was done sloppily. I heard about this salon around a year ago and i finally went in for a manicure.  There are many nail salons in New Orleans. What makes this place different is the care and time they put into it.  My favorite part is that this place is personal.  Just like what you would expect from New Orleans. Absolutely fantastic! This salon is an oasis in the French Quarter -- it's quiet, it's beautifully decorated, and so fresh and airy. The staff is beyond accommodating. They took me without an appointment, and we're very warm. My manicure and pedicure were both top notch. Everything is cleaned and sterilized for each client, and the products are wonderful.
