I've been coming here for about 6 months. My daughter told me about Jimmy her hair stylist and I must say he is amazing. I consider him my friend. When you don't have hair a lot of left it's really hard to find someone who can make you look young and have an up to date hair style. I went here for my first time and got the tranquil pedicure . She said it was 60 min , they lady I had lagged on and on and kept walking away . It was ok, not worth $50! I also got a full set of acrylics with paint, I literally had to tell her to fix un-smooth nails as she went! I accidentally touched one nail and asked her to fix it and she huffed. Admittedly this place looks nice and certainly clean, but that doesn't make up for the rude staff. A friend and I went in on a Tuesday afternoon about 3pm. We did not have an appointment so knew there was chance they wouldn't be able to take us. There were 4-5 manicure stations and at least 4 pedicure stations, all of which were empty. There was also only one guest in the hair salon. We requested a gel manicure and a change or polish. The girl at the front desk needed us to repeat this 3 times then said to my friend we can help you then turned to me and said no (only 1 word) then began to move from the desk. When I asked is that your way of saying there is no one for a polish change she responded with "we don't have time for you" (not in polite way either). My friend tells her that's fine we will just go and the girl goes "well bye then" before chuckling and spin her chair so her back is to us. Read Less

Jimmy handed me me whole life back!!!! I got extra brave and used a box color (NEVA DO DAT). My hair turned orange y'all!!! ORANGE! By the grace of God this salon was open on a Monday. Yes a Monday. I got an appointment within 2 hours. I wrapped my head in a scarf and proceeded to my walk of Shane . After a short time in Jimmy's chair I got my life back!! Paid $45 for my gel manicure and my boyfriend's regular manicure. We left with dirt under his nails (they did not clean them) my gel nails looking AWFUL and this is after the girl cut my nails down to almost nothing even though I said I like them long. Then the receptionist- who told me the manager would not be able to speak with me- basically accused me of messing up my nails after I left, questioned me about why I could not find the time to come back in (though i told her ...i had a wedding to prepare for the next day), said I needed to send pictures for "proof," and told me that I needed to call back if I wanted to speak with a manager because he would not be calling me. INCREDIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL! My gel manicure was done in 25 minutes- I was finished before my boyfriend who started at the same time and was just getting a regular manicure. I now have to pay for an appointment at a different salon to get these fixed before the wedding. Do yourself a favor and find another salon- don't waste your time or money here!! First off I made an appointment, which they pretty much make you do. Then once I sat down the lady stopped working on me and started working on another lady. After 20 mins she began to work on me again. I also asked the lady for round and she made them square round after asking 3 times. The front desk lady is rude. But clean environment.Read Less

The consultation is the most important part of any hair service. If your stylist doesn't act like they've got the time to listen to what you want...walk away! I have been to too many salons lately where the stylist does the consultation on the way to the shampoo bowl! I HATE this!I was so impressed with my experience at Tranquil! I got what I wanted because my stylist, Amy took the time to do a proper consultation. IN THE CHAIR, at her station!!! This was my first hair service at Tranquil and I could kick myself for not coming here(for hair) sooner. Usually have an amazing time here. Always relaxed and beautiful atmosphere. ..but today..my technician started 20 minutes late...repeatedly zoned out while watching the TV and even stopped a time or two...she was a little rough on my cuticles. .which I've never dealt with there either. I have been coming to Tranquil Salon & Spa for almost five years now. Every time I come, it is an amazing experience. The staff is fabulous and super friendly, as well as accommodating. I get a range of services and every single employee I have ever dealt with is professional and great at what they do! I am an extremely picky person, yet they always seem to please me! It's your run of the mill nail shop.  The atmosphere was very impersonal and my manicure wasn't the best.  My nail technician, Van, was very rough when buffing and drilling my nails. I was wincing in pain.  The acrylic was lifting from the cuticle and the polish was chipping/fading  within a week's time.  They looked horrible.  I've had my nails done plenty of times at other nail spas and this has never happened before.  Very poor job.  Although I live right down the street from this salon, I'd rather make the drive to Harvey or the Eastbank to get a proper acrylic set. Tranquil is the best! From the superb Stylists, the Enestheticians, ans the manicurists, this place is Heaven on Earth. I am always treated like a queen, in the most relaxing atmosphere.  I can go there on a stressful day, and come out, calm, looking and feeling like a million bucks!. Today I spent 4 hrs at this salon being pampered. My friend and  I got the tranquil pedi which left our feet so soft. There was lots of exfoliation followed by warm towels and a foot mask. After which I got my hair colored and cut by Jimmy. He pays so much attention to detail and listened to what I had to say about my hair condition and what look I was trying to achieve. Lastly, I had a wax which was done fast but meticulously. The only way it should be done! My friend had the massage and was very relaxed afterwards. I'm Very impressed with this place and plan on making the drive from uptown new orleans to come to this full service spa. Next time I'm going to try a facial and massage. Read Less

Jimmy does an excellent cut.  So much attention to detail. Book him early as he is busy. He convinced me to get a pedicure one time and now I drive an hour away to get one at tranquil. Very clean rooms and the staff is an attractive group who offer a very warm welcome. They set up a private room for separate parties. I just had my hair done at Tranquil and also a mani/pedi and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was great and the staff was extremely warm and welcoming. Jimmy did a great job on my hair and the girls there are super sweet. The place is very clean, which is a BIG PLUS because I love a sanitary environment. I just experienced the best pedicure ever at Tranquil! I had the Tranquil pedi by Alexis...you pay a little bit more but it is totally worth it! My feet are enclosed in four inch heels all day plus it takes a beating from running three miles each day. After my pedi, they are brand new again and softer than a babies butt! Read Less
