This salon is beautiful and relaxing! I called on a Saturday afternoon to see if they had anyone who could cut and color my hair and I was expecting a no, since it was a Saturday and last minute. I was surprised when they said I could come at five. I was also hesitant since I had never been there and desperately wanted my hair to come out nice. I went to Salon James for my wedding manicure. We had a lot of women that came along for services. They had complimentary beverages and fruit, they were timely and kind, and my manicure turned out perfect. Ok Ladies! Do you know how sometimes you go into a new salon and it seems everyone knows everyone and the stylists are all talking to each other but not much to you or if they do speak to you it's not personal? 5, 10 or 15 stylists in one room all talking mostly to each other instead of connecting with their clients in the chair...noisy and impersonal? Not Salon James! I went in Friday for my appt and Tina did an Awesome Job cutting my hair! She was so friendly and personal...! The conversation didn't seem forced. She gave me the best shampoo I think I have ever had! It was so relaxing..I didn't feel like I just got my hair cut..I got pampered! The room where my hair was washed, cut and styled had only two chairs so even though I was the only client at that time for my hair appt, it would not have been noisy and crowded if another person was there. Went to get my hair done and she did not listen to a single thing I asked for. She went WAAY DARKER then I asked for. I walked in blonde and walked out with black hair. I told her I did not like it and she literally just said "come back in 2 weeks if you don't like it !!!" Well I paid almost $200 and absolutely hate it. I am very glad I picked this place  for my friends first professional mani-pedi. The staff was very helpful. Our feet soaked a little too for my liking, but we were checked in on just right number of times.They offered beverages and a small bowl of fruit salad. My friend and I decided to be adventurous and try the Thai tea and it was delicious. I believe the staff worked an hr over the time they closed to make sure we had a great service. Most luxurious place to escape to & unwind while being pampered like a VIP. Nothing in the area comes close when comparing the atmosphere & service. It's what you'd expect in Beverly Hills but we have this jewel in BR at prices that are so affordable. Amazing experience!!
