I have been to Mimi's twice, and both experiences were awful. I have been getting my nails done every 2 weeks for the last 10 years, so I know how to spot good nail service. I went to Mimi's the first 3 months it was open a few years ago, and it was the worst! The salon is broken up into rooms since it is in an old house. I was taken to a room in the back where I sat for 3.5 HOURS for a typical fill in. The girl had no idea what she was doing and was extremely nervous. I didn't want to hurt her feelings since she was so nervous, I ended up coaching her on what to do. I didn't even get french as usual as she messed up 4 times (by her own standard) and wiping them off, so I got a color. To top it off, I ended up missing the Louisville Basketball game that evening because i was still in the chair. No one ever came back to check to see how things were going as I was the only person in that room and I would have let them know. Manicure for 3.5 hours? It was torture. 2 years later I gave them a second chance since my preferred salon changed ownership. The experience was slightly better being it only took 1.5 hours and I had a different tech. I recieved the pink and white service and they turned out bad- very thick and lopsided. The Tech checked her 3 cell phones every 5 minutes. You would think management would ensure they would check in on your service. As neither time were they busy. They have spent a lot of time making the salon look nice, but I prefer to be happy with my nails when I leave. Never again. Read Less

I got a facial here, and didn't have a great experience. I found it very confusing that the front door of what clearly used to be a house was not the door by which you were intended to enter. I also waited (despite having a reservation) for more than 10 minutes after my reservation time, for a 30 minute facial. Fortunately my schedule was flexible enough to allow this wait. The facial itself felt good, except for two elements that stung horribly - however, when I told the esthetician, she changed products and used something more gentle. But, when I got up after the facial and looked in the mirror, I had awful red marks everywhere that she had touched - it looked like a bad sunburn all over my face and neck. I was very self conscious, and concerned that there was something wrong, but my esthetician left and didn't come back to talk to me. Fortunately, the redness went away after a couple hours, but it was concerning. Additionally, the receptionist seemed very unfriendly. My husband and I came to Mimi's for pedicures. We got the Deluxe Pedicure and it was amazing. First, their pedicure chairs are the most high tech chairs I have seen at a salon and they are very comfortable. Second, the nail technicians took their time and made sure everything was perfect. They paid awesome attention to detail in my nail polish and took great care in removing a couple ingrown toenails my husband had. The hot stone massage and hot wax feet mask felt and smelled so good. When my pedicure was done, they made sure my nails were absolutely dry before I put my boots on and made sure they wouldn't get messed up from doing so. Lastly, it was pouring out when we went to leave the salon and the worker offered to pull our van closer to the door for us so we didn't have to get wet. I cannot stress how hit or miss the service I have received at Miami's has been. I decided to try mimi's after moving and no longer living near my regular salon. The first time I got a gel manicure was amazing and the man doing my nails was incredibly detail oriented and my nails looked great, though it took about 30 minutes longer than my regular salon. No big deal. The second time I got a dip manicure. It was horrendous. I was there for 2 and a half hours getting my nails done, and even though the woman doing my nails tried to fix it, my nails looked lumpy and club like in the end. My skin was attached to the dip gel powder and all of my nails are of varying thickness. My nails don't look like the work of a professional manicurist. I would not recommend this salon. Read Less

I have been coming to Mimi's for almost a year now and I love getting my pedicures here. I never have a problem getting in and they are always professional and have a great attention to detail. I especially like Kei who is the nail stylist who does my pedicures all the time. She is great and I highly recommend her. This is a great shop and you should definitely check it out. Had a wonderful experience today at Mimi's! I was very impressed and satisfied with my pedicure-Tracy was awesome! Clean, friendly and relaxing environment. The only reason I couldn't give five stars was because of the temperature of the building. It seemed as if the air wasn't on or was broken. Wow!! Have driven past this salon several times, finally went for a pedi. Henry was awesome!! I love the spa setting. It is so bright and clean you feel an immediate relaxing calm when you go in. Not like the white noise in most nail salons. And it's not just a nail salon. Massages, facials, party rooms. All I can say is go just 1 time, you will be hooked! I would love to say that my experience was superb. Started off waiting nearly a half hour past the 6p appointment to begin the pedi, a couple folks came by and said they had an appt. coming up and couldn't begin/finish. I prefer the gel mani/pedi as they last longer... my right middle finger nail is peeling and it's barely been 24 hours since my service.***Changed my stars and edited on 6.7.17 - I went into the shop yesterday, after the polish peeled off of 6 of my nails, and was peeling off the remaining 4. I went for the first time yesterday and I had a wonderful experience! I got the deluxe pedicure and I have never felt more relaxed at a nail salon before. The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere was peaceful and the massage chairs are awesome!! They also have a rewards card to get money off if you keep coming back, and I definitely will! Read Less

The saving grace of this place is the polished look. I went for a fill in and gel finish. I called and was informed it would be 18$ for the fill in and 5$ for gel. It ended up being 15$ for the colored gel... I am not unhappy with my nails but I am unimpressed. Decent job, lousy reception over the phone. Probably won't go back. Read Less

I've only every gotten pedicures here, but the prices are comparable to most other salons but you get much more for your dollar. I love the deluxe pedicure! It comes with a soak, trimming, callous removal, exfoliatation, aloe, massage, a mask, a dip into wax bags, and hot towels. It's about an hour long and only 45 dollars. The staff is great. They're nice, answer all your questions, offer you drinks, and really take time to work on your nails. Read Less

I had to get my nails done at the last minute and Mimi's Nail salon was conveniently located on my way home. The place is nice and clean and the person that did my nails was really friendly. Unfortunately, the gel manicure was truly disappointing. I got a french manicure and when I got home and washed my hands, the white tips turned orange. When the salon had their grand opening and gave away the gift certificates I made sure to stop by to see what they were all about. Instantly I fell in love with the atmosphere, the professionalism, and personalization to customer's needs. Since they opened I have been there 3 different times for special occasions. I went once for my birthday in February, then for Mother's Day, and then for my end of the summer treat back to work. Each time I go I get the same services, which ...include a deluxe pedicure, a basic manicure, eyebrow wax, and a 30-minute massage. Although the prices are a little steeper than I pay normally the service alone makes up for it. I am willing to pay that amount for the service that I receive, which has always been great! Darcy gives great massages and eyebrow waxing. The owner also does a wonderful massages and very good waxes. Tracy waxed my eyebrows the last time I was there and I enjoyed her walking me through each process she was doing and including me in learning about eyebrow care and beautification. I especially like the fact that when I get three services I get 15% off. I will continue to frequent this business and I highly encourage others to stop by and use their services as well. I haven't found a local place for a pedi that I like well enough to go back to in the two years that we have lived here. After a visit to Mimi's, I found my spot. I went on 4th of July weekend. Since we were going to a pool party, I wanted cute toes. Sue was very nice and gave such a good leg massage I almost fell asleep! Though they don't typically do much design, she had another gal come put a little firework on my big toes for a little extra charge. I am actually going back today for a fresh pedi. Great experience. Fantastic service, reasonable prices and they all go above and beyond to make your visit there special. The salon is in an older house. The bottom floor has all of the nail areas. One room is full for your pedi with at least 6 chairs. There is a separate room down 3 stairs on the bottom flood for your nails which also had about 6 stations. The salon offers massages, facials and waxes. I assume the upstairs is for the massages and another room or two for your facials and wax. My mother, sister and I ventured here for the deluxe mani and pedi for my sister's birthday. Everyone there was extremely kind and welcoming. The three of us were able to sit with each other the entire time and hang out. As soon as they discovered it was my sister's birthday, they had a birthday song play over the loud speakers and gave her an ice cream sandwich with a candle in it. It was an adorable touch to the experience. I felt the prices were great for what we experienced and better than what I found looking around other salons in the area. Yes. A nail salon near me where I can go even on Sunday for a pedicure!! They close at 6. I walked in at 5:30 and they were more than willing to give me a no frills pedicure. I paid 33 dollars for a fantastic pedicure that even included hot towels for my tired aching feet.  Did I mention they serve wine. Or you can bring your own. Did I mention the large awesome chairs that lure you into a total state of relaxation?? They offer manicures and facials and massages. I will for sure return. Clean. Mimi's is a new salon, and definitely worth checking out! Based on my experience, it would be perfect for a girls' day out, a bridal shower, or just a day of pampering yourself. I visited recently with a group of girlfriends, and the space is perfect for a day of pampering with friends. Located in a converted old house, many of the walls have been knocked down to create an open floor plan that is conducive for visiting. Still, the place feels warm and inviting and is nicely decorated to create a welcoming environment. We called ahead to ask, and the salon allowed us to bring snacks and wine for our afternoon of getting glam. A group of us relaxed into the new pedicure chairs; these have heated seats and even a little remote-control and a place for forearm-massage -- exactly what I was needing! Yelena got to work on my poor feet, which she could tell were calloused from all of the running that I do regularly.  A short time later, my feet were smoothed and my toenails twinkling with some fresh polish in a new favorite shade.  I opted not to get a manicure as some of my friends did, but we had such a fun time visiting while we waited for everybody nonetheless. Mimi and her staff were so friendly and offered us complimentary water or diet soft drinks while we were visiting. I made sure to grab a loyalty card (5 stamps gets you $10 off of a service), as I plan to be back, either for another pedicure, a manicure, or one of the massages or facials that are also offered by the experts there.
