May 12th, 2018 Madison County Prom - A few weeks before my daughter's prom I contacted the Hamburg location to schedule hair and make-up. I told the guy that answered the phone that it was her prom and I needed someone really good at makeup and we wanted her hair in soft curls since her hair is at her shoulders. He was nice said no problem and scheduled the appointments (make-up with Macy and hair with Kelly). A week before prom my daughter decided she wanted an updo. I once again called the salon, it sounded like the same young man that took the initial call. I explained what she wanted and asked if Kelly would have time and was capable of an updo. He said Kelly was fantastic and it wouldn't be a problem. On May 12th me and my daughter showed up at 2pm. We were quickly greeted by Macy. We showed her a picture of the look my daughter was looking for (smokey eye, and otherwise very simple). The appointment ran over the allotted time. When she was finished she went to tell Kelly that my daughter was ready for hair. Kelly said her schedule showed simple curls and they should have never scheduled my daughter with her. That since the make up ran over and she had another appointment she wasn't doing it. Macy came back and explained what had happened. I explained that I had called and changed the appointment and was assured that it would be taken care of. Macy talked to another stylist who said she would help with my daughters hair in between her clients. Macy told me that she never does updos but she would make sure that my daughter was taken care of. She worked really hard on my daughter's hair. As I sat watching I saw Kelly finish her appointment, walk by several times and then leave. She never asked if Macy needed help, even though you could clearly tell she was very slow. Other stylist stepped in and helped as they could. When she was finished I was so grateful that she understood how important a prom is to a shy teenage girl. When I went to pay the same guy that took the calls checked us out. He said it's $54. I asked for hair and make-up? He said if they want you charged they are suppose to tell me so I'm telling you it's $54. I said ok. I paid and left Macy a very large tip for her hard work. We felt grateful for Macy. If she hadn't stepped up we would have been in a very bad spot. We felt angry and disappointed in Kelly. I understand she had another appointment and maybe she had to leave at a certain time but she could have at least talked to us and apologize for the mix up, instead she acted as though she could have cared less. And the guy that sits at the front desk, a completely useless employee. None of this was our fault. We did what we were suppose to do and he didn't care that he messed up.

Horrible experience yesterday! Went in for a partial highlight and a shape up. Ended up with my hair darker than what it started out being and 5 inches cut off my hair. I have horrible, uneven layers. I won’t wear my hair down until I can get this fixed. My hair is literally chopped up. I received a chemical burn on my neck as well. I paid almost $200 for the worst hair experience.

While the stylist offered to redo my color alone, that still wouldn’t have made the style anything like what I envisioned or asked for. After voicing my concern they offered to have a higher level stylist redo the entire thing at no extra charge. Second time around it turned out perfect! So satisfied with my overall service and will definitely be returning!

I started going here in 2016 to get my hair cut and colored. My regular stylist left but I wasn't notified so my last trip a gal cut my hair too short. There was no way I would allow her to highlight it after that. She kept asking me where and how to cut it the entire time as well. That trip cost $50 dollars. I won't go back. Had they notified me my usual stylist had left I would have gone some place else I needed it cut badly and took a chance. Paying $50 dollars for a wash and terrible cut is a deal breaker. I could have gotten the exact same thing at super cute for half the cost.

It’s a nice salon and the people are nice. You will be given a price list when you go in but it isn’t exact. Still, it’s good enough to get a general idea so be sure and keep it in mind. My stylist is very sweet but also very independent. She will do what she wants not necessarily what I want. If your stylist mentions they will do anything else to you hair be sure and ask how much? It will be expensive for things that are done in equally nice salons for much less. I got a major cut and I wanted a slight trim. My roots were done and the price is the same as a full color. Just be very informed. Stick to your guns and don’t be surprised if it’s still very different.

I was told a few months ago after my keratin treatment that I should go in for a trim in January and scheduled then. Today I got a microtrim done (less than an inch) and was charged $50 dollars. Prices are not worth what it is and are inconsistent with what is online and what they tell you. Online it says a cut is $40 and over the phone they told me a keratin treatment was $250. The keratin ended up being over $300 before the tip and $50 for a micro trim before the tip.When I... confronted them about inconsistent prices the front desk lady (who just is on instagram with her back towards the front door constantly) told me it was because she is an “elite stylist” and that they techniqually should have charged more. I payed and promptly after the front desk lady went and was talking shit about me right in front of my face to the lady that did my hair. These people are rude and have horrible business practice- safe to say I will never be back. See More

Pablo Picasso said "The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls," and I fully believe that this notion applies to what I experienced yesterday. To sit in that chair and have Ryann trim away the clutter, the overgrowth, and expose what she did that was hidden in...side... my god. I never thought it would happen to me. You see these television shows where they makeover an ugly duckling and turn them into a beautiful swan... you see these shows and you think, "yeah, for them." For them, there was something underneath, but me? I'm not that person. Ryann changed my world. She showed me that yes. Me too. And she can for you. I was changed yesterday, and the idea of that is scary. It's scary to think that I'll never be that person again. But nostalgia is almost always based on at least a sliver of good. You might have nostalgia for the songs that brought you through a hard time, but I don't think you really have nostalgia for the hard time itself. I have been going to Planet Salon & Spa off and on for several years (away for school) & regularly for a year--I can honestly say I have never received a bad haircut! For starters, the facility is very clean, the staff (give or take a few receptionists) are friendly, and the atmosphere is very nice. Leah is a rockstar at cutting my hair consistently well (which has been an issue with past hairstylists), styling nicely (which is hit-or-miss with other places I've been), and being all-around super easy to talk to (which is like free therapy lol)! On another note, I have several allergies & have opted to bring in my own hair products with no complaint at all from Planet Salon & Spa!

I cant speak for the services however I spent over $200 in gift cards for my sister to enjoy a couples massage with her husband which upon purchase I was assured they did. however, when my sister tried to book she was informed they didn't offer that (marketed on their site mind you). In addition, she tried to book just massages since the couples massage was a lie but they were booked out 3 months in advance and the front desk gal didn't know when next availability was. I requested a manager when I called after my sister spoke to them and she wouldn't come to the phone. I left my name and number two more times for her to call and still have yet to receive a call back. It was a disaster. I tried to get a refund and they wouldn't do it so now my sister is stuck with a wasted gift card. The customer service was TERRIBLE.

I have been a client for around four or five years. Love the full services including hair waxing etc. Lorie Carmickle is my stylist and I trust her and she has successfully turned my hair around from extremely damaged to long healthy and gorgeous. Marcy the owner is always improving the salon making it more beautiful and appealing. There is always a smiling face at the front desk welcoming me and checking me in when I arrive. Great location in Hamburg off Winchester Road. I would say that it is the nicest and most professional full-service salon in the Lexington area.

So I am super excited to have a haircut and hair coloring which took a long time of decision making. My stylist was really nice and did a great job in my hair cut. However, my hair color is a little disappointing. The color at the top of my head is way lighter more than the body. It looks like I only color the top and gave up the rest. At first I thought its just hard to see the color because of the lighting but when I got home to take a closer look The color was not spread properly. I probably need to spend more now to get it right. Tried to call to address it hoping something could be done but nothing was really offered. I guess they can't really do anything about it.

The worst facial I received. I had the acne/brightening facial because I have black head problems and my sister had the age defying facial. I scheduled for 4 and 5pm because there was one esthetician. Instead we had our facials done the same time and rushed in between. There was no skill or comfort. The arm and hand massage was skipped and the facial was very short. I had to ask whether I would get the warm towel and steamer worrying it may be skipped. We started around 4:10 and finished around 4:40. We paid $50 each and didn't receive the quality work. Highly disappointed.

When I got to planet salon and met Ashley Umstead I knew this could not go wrong....she listens, so friendly, and genuinely cares!!! After a big mistake while bleaching my own hair I went to Planet Salon to have it fixed. Leah was my stylist and she was GREAT! My cut turned out exactly how I wanted it and she worked some serious magic on my orange and yellow head of hair. I need to go back one more time for some more toning and I defintily plan to go to Leah again. She's fabulous! I recommend her highly. Love this place. I've been many times before, but it had been over 2 years before my last visit (until today). The reason is my favorite stylist apparently moved to Knoxville and I just couldn't get over it. Jason was amazing. Well, today I decided to go through with a drastic change -- I wanted an undercut pixie. I called the salon and booked an appointment with Laura. When I met Laura and showed her the pictures of the cut I wanted, she stopped smiling and said "Why do you want to do that?" I explained why and she took me back to get shampooed. She left to go get a cape, and she was going for about three minutes. If her expression from earlier didn't give it away, I knew then she didn't want to do the cut. Then she brought another stylist named Mary back with her, and explained to me that she had never done that kind of cut before and didn't feel comfortable doing that. However, she assured me that Mary was quite comfortable and proficient (for lack of a better word) and would do an excellent job.I was so happy that Laura was honest with me about her skills and that she found another stylist who could give me what I wanted. It was very proactive and was great customer service. Mary was amazing and did a fabulous job. Laura also stayed to watch, which I liked because it shows that she gives a crap. Ultimately, I was very pleased and I booked an appointment for six weeks from now. I'll definitely be coming back again.

I love this salon! I would not go anywhere else!! I have been to many salons in the area and had not been able to find anything like this place! The stylists really know what they are doing! They go out of their way to make me feel special! Not only are the stylist amazing, but so is their product and atmosphere! They use bumble and bumble, it's a little pricey, but lasts you FOREVER and it has really improved the quality of my hair! The salon is also very well taken care of and clean!!

Tabitha has been coloring/cutting my hair for >3years now and I will never switch as long as she is still styling hair. I am one of those women who likes to try different colors and styles, I have never once been disappointed. My color and cut is always better than I expected. as far as price is concerned it is well worth it for the quality, trust me I've paid a lot more to be dissatisfied. When my brother moved here he needed a salon and he too loves planet. I recommend them for everyone! Men , women, and kids!

I have truly enjoyed the fun atmosphere and the pampering. While I'm getting my hair done, the entire staff is so friendly, asking about my family and such. They really do care about their clients. Marcy listens to what you want and creates the most amazing color combinations! Every time I go, I get tons of compliments on my hair. I think she is the only person there that can even handle ethnic hair. She is always a sweetheart and pays attention to detail. I love going to her!!! She remembers me and always converses with my like a long time friend! She always cuts my hair perfectly, color care is great, and always giving me tips on how to maintain my hair and keep it healthy!!! Well worth the price she charges! Jennifer Bentley is the best! She has been doing my hair for years. I had a horrible cut years ago by another stylist there which made my hair look like a mullet!! After that horrible cut I went to Jennifer and see has me back right finally. She had a mess to work with but trimming and styling and care tips have my hair healthy and growing back!! She knows what sees talking about and what she is doing! Also I get bored easy and change my hair color often and i must say she always gets the color right and not once has my hair been damaged! AND she does extensions!!!! She has been doing my extensions as well. Sometimes glued in and sometimes braided! She's so good. Always makes time for all her clients even when u are doing cut, color and extensions which take a hours. All stylists here train under a experienced stylist before they begin taking their own clients so you can feel confident that you will get great service. I have lived in Lexington for 14 years. It took me 12 years to find the best beauty consultant on the face of the earth! I never knew my hair could look so good! I had a friend recommend Kayla to me. Somewhat skeptical, I made an appointment. I really thought this was would be another so, so experience. I sat down with really no expectations. Kayla ran her hands through my hair and immediately began telling me her ideas. She had color ideas, cut ideas, style ideas.... It was really kind of exciting! She never pushed any of the services, merely suggested different avenues we could go down. I admit, I got caught up in the excitement of the moment and went with color, cut and style. She turned my average hair into a thing of beauty. I felt like a new person! Maybe a person's strength really is in his/her hair! I have felt more confident than any other time I can remember! I won't let anyone else touch my hair now! It's been 2 years ....I am still amazed every time I walk out of Planet Salon after Kayla has done my hair. I almost hate to post this review because I know it will make getting in to see her harder. As the rating states...run, don't walk! Kayla ROCKS!!!!

Went to this salon expecting top quality in regards to service and experience. The experience was great--atmosphere seemed nice, professional, friendly. It was the service I was completely dissatisfied with. I asked for a shoulder length cut with layers. I also wanted my hair thinned and a sideswept bang. Kayla seemed to know exactly what I was talking about when I asked for this and started right away. She was very friendly and we talked during the appointment (wish we wouldn't have because she obviously needs to focus) and there was also a 'hairstylist in training' watching the appointment. They both told me to keep my legs uncrossed so that my haircut would not be crooked--I of course listened to them because that was a huge fear of mine. THE HAIRCUT First problem, she chopped off way too much hair--I asked for shoulder length NOT chin length. Second mistake--the left side of my haircut was about an inch to an inch and a half shorter than the other side of my hair. (Basically this haircut was my worst salon nightmare!!) I payed S55 dollars for my haircut plus tip--a complete waste of money. When I was not satisfied I called back to speak with a manager to complain. I spoke with a middle aged man who said I could come back in and get a dry chop but he would not rewet my hair to give me a redo on my hair cut. If I pay 55 dollars for a haircut I expect it to be done right--and if you do it wrong the first time that should not be the customer's fault and I should have my hair fixed. I will NEVER return to this salon. The horrible haircut combined with the poor service I received from the manager after my hair was destroyed makes me never want to return and I tell everyone I know not to go here. Terrible.

From pedicures and manicures for big events such as weddings to everyday hair styles, I've had nothing but the BEST experience in the 6 years I've been coming here. Each time, I'm greeted by the friendly receptionists and always offered a refreshment. In addition, Planet Salon offers Wi-Fi stations. This is such a fun way to spend time on the Internet while my hair is processing! I would always recommend Planet Salon & Spa to anyone new and already living in the Lexington, KY area! I went to this salon with shoulder length dirty blonde hair. I haven't put a flat iron or curling iron on my hair in 8 months, as I was trying to make it as healthy as possible. Here's what this stylist did: 1) BLEACH, from roots to ends, and then left me under the dryer for 45 MINUTES WITHOUT ONCE coming to check the process. 2) Proceeded to use a ""toner"" without telling me I'd be charged for it. (Why did she need a toner? Because she had messed my hair up.) 3) I repeatedly told her I DO NOT WANT A TRIM, but when she insisted repeatedly, I allowed it, and she spent maybe 1 minutes, and took off MAYBE 1/4 of an inch. 4) I left with my hair wet because I knew I'd be charged if they blew it dry. I was charged over $145 dollars, the ""HAIRCUT"" was over $40, and they charged me $25 for a toner which I DID NOT ask for. 5) when i got home and blew dry my hair, i cried 5 or 6 times. When i called there and told them, they treated me like I was a pain in the neck, told me that ""i was wrong"" and then hung up on me. Needless to say, WORST experience of my life. I have never had my hair look so terrible. And the staff there DID NOT care one bit. Just another head in Planet Salon. I hope no one else EVER has to feel like I felt today. My hair looks horrible, and my feelings are terribly hurt by how little they cared about how devastated I was.

Seriously now a days it's so hard to find a great hair stylist! I'm so excited that I finally did ! My best friend referred me to Lyndsey after she did an AMAZING job fixing my friend's bad box hair dye job! I waited probably a total 3 minutes before she came and got me. She listened to what I wanted and executed it better than I originally imagined it. She's young but seriously one of the best stylist I have ever had ever been to. Another thing is she explained to me every product she used! I hate when stylist spray a whole bunch of crap in your hair and don't even tell you what it's for! I left the salon feeling amazing with a new look and a new attitude! The salon had awesome, clean & fun atmosphere with some great upbeat music playing. The prices were very reasonable! I love Planet!!

May 12th, 2018 Madison County Prom - A few weeks before my daughter's prom I contacted the Hamburg location to schedule hair and make-up. I told the guy that answered the phone that it was her prom and I needed someone really good at makeup and we wanted her hair in soft curls since her hair is at her shoulders. He was nice said no problem and scheduled the appointments (make-up with Macy and hair with Kelly). A week before prom my daughter decided she wanted an updo. I once again called the salon, it sounded like the same young man that took the initial call. I explained what she wanted and asked if Kelly would have time and was capable of an updo. He said Kelly was fantastic and it wouldn't be a problem. On May 12th me and my daughter showed up at 2pm. We were quickly greeted by Macy. We showed her a picture of the look my daughter was looking for (smokey eye, and otherwise very simple). The appointment ran over the allotted time. When she was finished she went to tell Kelly that my daughter was ready for hair. Kelly said her schedule showed simple curls and they should have never scheduled my daughter with her. That since the make up ran over and she had another appointment she wasn't doing it. Macy came back and explained what had happened. I explained that I had called and changed the appointment and was assured that it would be taken care of. Macy talked to another stylist who said she would help with my daughters hair in between her clients. Macy told me that she never does updos but she would make sure that my daughter was taken care of. She worked really hard on my daughter's hair. As I sat watching I saw Kelly finish her appointment, walk by several times and then leave. She never asked if Macy needed help, even though you could clearly tell she was very slow. Other stylist stepped in and helped as they could. When she was finished I was so grateful that she understood how important a prom is to a shy teenage girl. When I went to pay the same guy that took the calls checked us out. He said it's $54. I asked for hair and make-up? He said if they want you charged they are suppose to tell me so I'm telling you it's $54. I said ok. I paid and left Macy a very large tip for her hard work. We felt grateful for Macy. If she hadn't stepped up we would have been in a very bad spot. We felt angry and disappointed in Kelly. I understand she had another appointment and maybe she had to leave at a certain time but she could have at least talked to us and apologize for the mix up, instead she acted as though she could have cared less. And the guy that sits at the front desk, a completely useless employee. None of this was our fault. We did what we were suppose to do and he didn't care that he messed up.

Horrible experience yesterday! Went in for a partial highlight and a shape up. Ended up with my hair darker than what it started out being and 5 inches cut off my hair. I have horrible, uneven layers. I won’t wear my hair down until I can get this fixed. My hair is literally chopped up. I received a chemical burn on my neck as well. I paid almost $200 for the worst hair experience.

After voicing my concern they offered to have a higher level stylist redo the entire thing at no extra charge. Second time around it turned out perfect! So satisfied with my overall service and will definitely be returning!

I started going here in 2016 to get my hair cut and colored. My regular stylist left but I wasn't notified so my last trip a gal cut my hair too short. There was no way I would allow her to highlight it after that. She kept asking me where and how to cut it the entire time as well. That trip cost $50 dollars. I won't go back. Had they notified me my usual stylist had left I would have gone some place else I needed it cut badly and took a chance. Paying $50 dollars for a wash and terrible cut is a deal breaker. I could have gotten the exact same thing at super cute for half the cost.

It’s a nice salon and the people are nice. You will be given a price list when you go in but it isn’t exact. Still, it’s good enough to get a general idea so be sure and keep it in mind. My stylist is very sweet but also very independent. She will do what she wants not necessarily what I want. If your stylist mentions they will do anything else to you hair be sure and ask how much? It will be expensive for things that are done in equally nice salons for much less. I got a major cut and I wanted a slight trim. My roots were done and the price is the same as a full color. Just be very informed. Stick to your guns and don’t be surprised if it’s still very different.

I was told a few months ago after my keratin treatment that I should go in for a trim in January and scheduled then. Today I got a microtrim done (less than an inch) and was charged $50 dollars. Prices are not worth what it is and are inconsistent with what is online and what they tell you. Online it says a cut is $40 and over the phone they told me a keratin treatment was $250. The keratin ended up being over $300 before the tip and $50 for a micro trim before the tip.When I... confronted them about inconsistent prices the front desk lady (who just is on instagram with her back towards the front door constantly) told me it was because she is an “elite stylist” and that they techniqually should have charged more. I payed and promptly after the front desk lady went and was talking shit about me right in front of my face to the lady that did my hair. These people are rude and have horrible business practice- safe to say I will never be back. See More

To sit in that chair and have Ryann trim away the clutter, the overgrowth, and expose what she did that was hidden in...side... my god. I never thought it would happen to me. You see these television shows where they makeover an ugly duckling and turn them into a beautiful swan... you see these shows and you think, "yeah, for them." For them, there was something underneath, but me? I'm not that person. Ryann changed my world. She showed me that yes. Me too. And she can for you. I was changed yesterday, and the idea of that is scary. It's scary to think that I'll never be that person again. But nostalgia is almost always based on at least a sliver of good. You might have nostalgia for the songs that brought you through a hard time, but I don't think you really have nostalgia for the hard time itself. I don't want to say "best haircut of my life," but I can't think of a single haircut I've had that was at the same time aesthetically pleasing, an enjoyable experience and emotionally fulfilling. Pablo Picasso said "The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls," and I fully believe that this notion applies to what I experienced yesterday. To sit in that chair and have Ryann trim away the clutter, the overgrowth, and expose what she did that was hidden inside... my god. I never thought it would happen to me. You see these television shows where they makeover an ugly duckling and turn them into a beautiful swan... you see these shows and you think, "yeah, for them." For them, there was something underneath, but me? I'm not that person. Ryann changed my world. She showed me that yes. Me too. And she can for you too.I was changed yesterday, and the idea of that is scary. It's scary to think that I'll never be that person again. But nostalgia is almost always based on at least a sliver of good. You might have nostalgia for the songs that brought you through a hard time, but I don't think you really have nostalgia for the hard time itself. I have been going to Planet Salon & Spa off and on for several years (away for school) & regularly for a year--I can honestly say I have never received a bad haircut! For starters, the facility is very clean, the staff (give or take a few receptionists) are friendly, and the atmosphere is very nice. Leah is a rockstar at cutting my hair consistently well (which has been an issue with past hairstylists), styling nicely (which is hit-or-miss with other places I've been), and being all-around super easy to talk to (which is like free therapy lol)! On another note, I have several allergies & have opted to bring in my own hair products with no complaint at all from Planet Salon & Spa!

In addition, she tried to book just massages since the couples massage was a lie but they were booked out 3 months in advance and the front desk gal didn't know when next availability was. I requested a manager when I called after my sister spoke to them and she wouldn't come to the phone. I left my name and number two more times for her to call and still have yet to receive a call back. It was a disaster. I tried to get a refund and they wouldn't do it so now my sister is stuck with a wasted gift card. The customer service was TERRIBLE.

Love the full services including hair waxing etc. Lorie Carmickle is my stylist and I trust her and she has successfully turned my hair around from extremely damaged to long healthy and gorgeous. Marcy the owner is always improving the salon making it more beautiful and appealing. There is always a smiling face at the front desk welcoming me and checking me in when I arrive. Great location in Hamburg off Winchester Road. I would say that it is the nicest and most professional full-service salon in the Lexington area.

So I am super excited to have a haircut and hair coloring which took a long time of decision making. My stylist was really nice and did a great job in my hair cut. However, my hair color is a little disappointing. The color at the top of my head is way lighter more than the body. It looks like I only color the top and gave up the rest. At first I thought its just hard to see the color because of the lighting but when I got home to take a closer look The color was not spread properly. I probably need to spend more now to get it right. Tried to call to address it hoping something could be done but nothing was really offered. I guess they can't really do anything about it.

The worst facial I received. I had the acne/brightening facial because I have black head problems and my sister had the age defying facial. I scheduled for 4 and 5pm because there was one esthetician. Instead we had our facials done the same time and rushed in between. There was no skill or comfort. The arm and hand massage was skipped and the facial was very short. I had to ask whether I would get the warm towel and steamer worrying it may be skipped. We started around 4:10 and finished around 4:40. We paid $50 each and didn't receive the quality work. Highly disappointed.

When I got to planet salon and met Ashley Umstead I knew this could not go wrong....she listens, so friendly, and genuinely cares!!! After a big mistake while bleaching my own hair I went to Planet Salon to have it fixed. Leah was my stylist and she was GREAT! My cut turned out exactly how I wanted it and she worked some serious magic on my orange and yellow head of hair. I need to go back one more time for some more toning and I defintily plan to go to Leah again. She's fabulous! I recommend her highly. Love this place. I've been many times before, but it had been over 2 years before my last visit (until today). The reason is my favorite stylist apparently moved to Knoxville and I just couldn't get over it. Jason was amazing. Well, today I decided to go through with a drastic change -- I wanted an undercut pixie. I called the salon and booked an appointment with Laura. When I met Laura and showed her the pictures of the cut I wanted, she stopped smiling and said "Why do you want to do that?" I explained why and she took me back to get shampooed. She left to go get a cape, and she was going for about three minutes. If her expression from earlier didn't give it away, I knew then she didn't want to do the cut. Then she brought another stylist named Mary back with her, and explained to me that she had never done that kind of cut before and didn't feel comfortable doing that. However, she assured me that Mary was quite comfortable and proficient (for lack of a better word) and would do an excellent job.I was so happy that Laura was honest with me about her skills and that she found another stylist who could give me what I wanted. It was very proactive and was great customer service. Mary was amazing and did a fabulous job. Laura also stayed to watch, which I liked because it shows that she gives a crap. Ultimately, I was very pleased and I booked an appointment for six weeks from now. I'll definitely be coming back again.

I love this salon! I would not go anywhere else!! I have been to many salons in the area and had not been able to find anything like this place! The stylists really know what they are doing! They go out of their way to make me feel special! Not only are the stylist amazing, but so is their product and atmosphere! They use bumble and bumble, it's a little pricey, but lasts you FOREVER and it has really improved the quality of my hair! The salon is also very well taken care of and clean!!

Tabitha has been coloring/cutting my hair for >3years now and I will never switch as long as she is still styling hair. I am one of those women who likes to try different colors and styles, I have never once been disappointed. My color and cut is always better than I expected. as far as price is concerned it is well worth it for the quality, trust me I've paid a lot more to be dissatisfied. When my brother moved here he needed a salon and he too loves planet. I recommend them for everyone! Men , women, and kids!

I have truly enjoyed the fun atmosphere and the pampering. While I'm getting my hair done, the entire staff is so friendly, asking about my family and such. They really do care about their clients. Marcy listens to what you want and creates the most amazing color combinations! Every time I go, I get tons of compliments on my hair. I think she is the only person there that can even handle ethnic hair. She is always a sweetheart and pays attention to detail. I love going to her!!! After that horrible cut I went to Jennifer and see has me back right finally. She had a mess to work with but trimming and styling and care tips have my hair healthy and growing back!! She knows what sees talking about and what she is doing! Also I get bored easy and change my hair color often and i must say she always gets the color right and not once has my hair been damaged! AND she does extensions!!!! She has been doing my extensions as well. Sometimes glued in and sometimes braided! She's so good. Always makes time for all her clients even when u are doing cut, color and extensions which take a hours. She prob misses a few lunches and breaks cause she is always busy and clients come first!!! and if you are looking for the Great Length extensions go see her she is also certified to do these!!!! over all she is amazing!! She makes u feel comfortable and yet on her game!!!

I love that I can go in and have no clue what new cut or color I want and I always come out feeling great about my hair. All the stylists are great at giving you reccomendations on what would look good on you. All stylists here train under a experienced stylist before they begin taking their own clients so you can feel confident that you will get great service. ALso while you are in you can get a manicure and pedicure :).

I have lived in Lexington for 14 years. It took me 12 years to find the best beauty consultant on the face of the earth! I never knew my hair could look so good! I had a friend recommend Kayla to me. Somewhat skeptical, I made an appointment. I really thought this was would be another so, so experience. I sat down with really no expectations. Kayla ran her hands through my hair and immediately began telling me her ideas. She had color ideas, cut ideas, style ideas.... It was really kind of exciting! She never pushed any of the services, merely suggested different avenues we could go down. I admit, I got caught up in the excitement of the moment and went with color, cut and style. She turned my average hair into a thing of beauty. I felt like a new person! Maybe a person's strength really is in his/her hair! I have felt more confident than any other time I can remember! I won't let anyone else touch my hair now! It's been 2 years ....I am still amazed every time I walk out of Planet Salon after Kayla has done my hair. I almost hate to post this review because I know it will make getting in to see her harder. As the rating states...run, don't walk! Kayla ROCKS!!!!

Went to this salon expecting top quality in regards to service and experience. The experience was great--atmosphere seemed nice, professional, friendly. It was the service I was completely dissatisfied with. I asked for a shoulder length cut with layers. I also wanted my hair thinned and a sideswept bang. Kayla seemed to know exactly what I was talking about when I asked for this and started right away. She was very friendly and we talked during the appointment (wish we wouldn't have because she obviously needs to focus) and there was also a 'hairstylist in training' watching the appointment. They both told me to keep my legs uncrossed so that my haircut would not be crooked--I of course listened to them because that was a huge fear of mine. THE HAIRCUT First problem, she chopped off way too much hair--I asked for shoulder length NOT chin length. Second mistake--the left side of my haircut was about an inch to an inch and a half shorter than the other side of my hair. (Basically this haircut was my worst salon nightmare!!) I payed S55 dollars for my haircut plus tip--a complete waste of money. When I was not satisfied I called back to speak with a manager to complain. I spoke with a middle aged man who said I could come back in and get a dry chop but he would not rewet my hair to give me a redo on my hair cut. If I pay 55 dollars for a haircut I expect it to be done right--and if you do it wrong the first time that should not be the customer's fault and I should have my hair fixed. I will NEVER return to this salon. The horrible haircut combined with the poor service I received from the manager after my hair was destroyed makes me never want to return and I tell everyone I know not to go here. Terrible.

From pedicures and manicures for big events such as weddings to everyday hair styles, I've had nothing but the BEST experience in the 6 years I've been coming here. Each time, I'm greeted by the friendly receptionists and always offered a refreshment. In addition, Planet Salon offers Wi-Fi stations. This is such a fun way to spend time on the Internet while my hair is processing! I would always recommend Planet Salon & Spa to anyone new and already living in the Lexington, KY area! I went to this salon with shoulder length dirty blonde hair. I haven't put a flat iron or curling iron on my hair in 8 months, as I was trying to make it as healthy as possible. Here's what this stylist did: 1) BLEACH, from roots to ends, and then left me under the dryer for 45 MINUTES WITHOUT ONCE coming to check the process. 2) Proceeded to use a ""toner"" without telling me I'd be charged for it. (Why did she need a toner? Because she had messed my hair up.) 3) I repeatedly told her I DO NOT WANT A TRIM, but when she insisted repeatedly, I allowed it, and she spent maybe 1 minutes, and took off MAYBE 1/4 of an inch. 4) I left with my hair wet because I knew I'd be charged if they blew it dry. I was charged over $145 dollars, the ""HAIRCUT"" was over $40, and they charged me $25 for a toner which I DID NOT ask for. 5) when i got home and blew dry my hair, i cried 5 or 6 times. When i called there and told them, they treated me like I was a pain in the neck, told me that ""i was wrong"" and then hung up on me. Needless to say, WORST experience of my life. I have never had my hair look so terrible. And the staff there DID NOT care one bit. Just another head in Planet Salon. I hope no one else EVER has to feel like I felt today. My hair looks horrible, and my feelings are terribly hurt by how little they cared about how devastated I was.

Seriously now a days it's so hard to find a great hair stylist! I'm so excited that I finally did ! My best friend referred me to Lyndsey after she did an AMAZING job fixing my friend's bad box hair dye job! I waited probably a total 3 minutes before she came and got me. She listened to what I wanted and executed it better than I originally imagined it. She's young but seriously one of the best stylist I have ever had ever been to. Another thing is she explained to me every product she used! I hate when stylist spray a whole bunch of crap in your hair and don't even tell you what it's for! I left the salon feeling amazing with a new look and a new attitude! The salon had awesome, clean & fun atmosphere with some great upbeat music playing. The prices were very reasonable! I love Planet!!
