This was my second time going for SNS, and my nails came out perfectly both times. I had my first set for a month and they never chipped. Very impressed with prices, color selection, and staff. Don’t waste your time. Literally. I have gone multiple times to Apple because they do such a great job, but the last two times I’ve been I’ve waited more than 30 minutes. While I’m waiting no one talks to me or tells me how long it will be. Also, the last two times I’ve been one technician has done my nails, and she is RUDE and rough with your nails. This nail salon was absolutely amazing. Very big fan. This was my first time here. And I was treated so well. I went to a different salon in Lex that totally jacked up my nails, cut me multiple times, filed my real nails down so thin they hurt. Apple Nails redid this nail job that the other people messed up. And they did it beautifully. They were so careful with the cuts on my fingers from the other place. I'm really super pleased with the nail care I received. I decided to come here to get my nails done after my regular place couldn't get me in. After going and getting my nails done here on Friday it quickly became my go to place to get my nails done. I walked in without an appointment and did not have to wait long at all. I sat down and got an SNS manicure. When I've gotten them done previously they have been as thick as acrylic nails but this place made them so thin that they feel like my regular nails were painted with regular polish. so 4 out of 5 times i have LOVED the services. doing sns and/or gel, had a different person each time and 4 out of 5 was great ... fell in love with sns, done right it is sublime, thin, tough, sexy ... uuuuntil this last time - had a sweet mama lady do the sns, and she packed it on there like a seven-layer wedding cake. did not shape, left it lumpy, barely filed it down, did not touch my cuticles, which might have been a good thing after speaking to a friend whose cuticles were mangled by her during a previous visit, after also having the 7 layer cake experience. ugh ..  it's been 10 days, i had to travel out of town and am counting down the hours until i can jackhammer this stuff off my nails. the only thing keeping them on is the color. love love love this place but gotta say if i get the same lady i will have to fake an emergency exit and get the heck outta town. i hate to be a whiner, i'm generally an easy customer and understand we all have our off days ... and i like to be loyal to a good local business but um ... it's a gamble depending on who you get. 4/5 are good odds, but for those of you who get the 1/5 you won't like it. I went to get a sns French manicure yesterday and I am totally disappointed. I had long natural nails (which is why I went to get the sns put on) and only wanted them trimmed - he cut them so short that when he filed my nails it made slits in my fingers. Six out of ten fingers have cuts from either the nail file or the drill bit he used to cut my cuticles. I'm just hoping that the equipment was sterilized so I won't have to worry about infection. The color was not what I asked for. I asked for a really pale pink..almost nude. The display showed pale pink/nude. When the color was applied, it was bright pink. She seemed really rushed, and the store was busy, so I didn't say anything. It wasn't that huge of a deal. After all was done, my cuticles had not even been touched. Cuticle treatment was the main reason I wanted a manicure. I would have gladly paid extra for the treatment, but assumed it was included because every time I've ever had my nails done, it's included. This place is BUSY! You know a nail salon is good when it's busy. Very obvious they have a loyal base. I walked in and was skeptical I would get seated soon. Super surprised that in about 5 mins a seat freed up and I sat for my manicure. I didn't get the girls name but she did me right! She made sure I liked her work as she went along. I was visiting Lexington and tried this based on the other reviews. First lesson: listen to reviewers when they recommend making an appointment. I got there about 5 minutes after they opened and I waited almost half an hour. Once I got seated, I got a regular manicure. They do SNS and gel, too, if you're interested. The tools all came directly out of sterilized pouches and the technician was very gentle and meticulous. I also like the warming gloves they give you while the cuticle cream soaks in. My nails are pretty and they have plenty of color selections. The price was reasonable for the area. But the experience was missing something. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I'd classify it as "clinical" rather than a welcoming experience. Maybe it's different if you're a regular. Bottom line: I would go back. Read Less

I have been coming to Apple Nail for several years.  Recently Bill has lost several great employees.  I was in for the deluxe Pedicure and was placed with one of his new girls.  Normally this place is top notch for pedi's.  I was in and out within 30 mins after paying 50. Bucks for the deluxe pedi with extra massage time. I actually complained to Bill that it was one of the worst pedi's I have had before I paid and his statement was this is her first day.  I'm not sure why that would make my pedicure so horrible except for the fact that he was training her but I feel if I was going to be used to train someone I should have gotten a rate to reflect that.  Bill also said "next time I put you with someone good" well being a loyal customer for so long one would like to think he'd always put with someone good! Shouldn't all of the employees be able to offer good pedicure.  I won't be going back.  I will wait until he hires "good" people. Maybe then try again.  I refuse to pay 50 dollars which is almost 20 bucks more than the normal pedi for someone to take less time doing it then someone paying 30$ and there for an hour!  I posted on his facebook page but he deleted my comment.  So perhaps here he will deal with the situation instead of deleting it.  Bill sure hope you get better help very soon! I was visiting my daughter all the way from Massachusetts and had my nails done here with the SNS system. I loved it! My nails stayed clean and lasted five weeks. There are very few salons who use this technique and your nails feel better and healthier. The closest salon up north is an hour away from me so when I come to KY, I always make sure I stop here! I came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago because it had been recommended to me by friends. I was not disappointed! I tried the SNS nails and was very happy with the way they turned out. I was a walk-in on a Friday afternoon so it was pretty busy and I did have to wait a while to be seen, but that is to be expected. As for SBS nails they have an endless selection of colors and they do the manicure fairly quickly. It's reasonably priced and overall worth it in my opinion. I will definitely be going back! I went in on a Friday afternoon (after calling ahead) for a SNS manicure and a pedicure and they were very busy but I only had to wait a couple minutes before they called me to start my manicure. Kim gave me a lovely manicure (and she has done my nails once since my first visit) and did a beautiful job on my cuticles and applied the SNS perfectly. I was promptly moved to a pedicure chair while my nails were drying and another sweet woman gave me a delightful pedicure (I needed it, and I'm ticklish) I was asked if I would like a water or something to drink, every employee is kind and friendly, all surfaces and tools are clean and kept in UV sterilizers, and they have a cabinet of soft white towels to use when you wash your hands.I would definitely recommend calling ahead just in case they are busy! I've had manicures and pedicures at several salons and haven't been a fan. I always feel like the customers are a herd of cattle being pushed through a front for human trafficking. There is no way you can relax and enjoy yourself in that type of setting. That all changed at Apple Nails. From the time I walked in the door until I left, I felt like a valued client. My spa manicure and deluxe pedicure took nearly two hours! There was no wait time - that was time spent on me! The nailist was utterly professional; no silly chit-chat trying to sell me add-ons, which seems to be standard in the profession. I felt like he had a college degree in "nailology"! Not to mention the foot massage, which other salons claim to do, he actually did for 30 minutes. I was amazed. Best place in town!  All the staff are great!  I am always treated like a queen here.  They use 100% sterilized tools, the foot massages are great.  This is the only place in Lexington to do the SNS color correctly.  SNS last more than two weeks and stays shiny.  There is no LED light required, and it is better for your nails than gel (I've done my research!)  I love getting a pedicure and then the SNS nail color on my fingernails.  The price is right - to get quality nail care, come here!  I don't go anywhere else.  I have paid less in the past but what I got was not as good as at Apple Nails.  The salon is always clean, the chairs are comfortable, and the big bowl of candy on the front counter always lures me in.  Thanks Apple Nails! A friend of mine asked me to get a manicure with her and made an appointment for us at the salon she frequents- Apple Nails.  I've never been here before and have my own salon I like to go to by the Trader Joe's but I wanted to spend time with her so we met here.As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed by the traditionally harsh chemical smell of a nail salon.  After awhile you get used to it but it's particularly strong here given the lack of ventilation.  It was a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't particularly busy but everyone kept saying how many people there were. The salon was small, with maybe 3 workers, two were male and only one was female. I personally prefer getting my nails done by a female but Bill painted them and he did an okay job I guess.  He left two of my nails a bit jagged for my taste and didn't clean up my cuticles as well as I would have liked.  He didn't paint my entire nail but got about 85% of it.  It was a light pink and lasted maybe 2-3 days before it started looking like I needed another manicure. On the plus side, they use those sterilized packets which I prefer.  They had strong massage chairs including a massaging seat option.  Their nail selection was ample with mainly OPI colors. The staff was friendly enough.I just personally feel that there are better places to go in the area for the same price and better-looking nails. Read Less
