I went to this nail shop when they opened & fell in love! The service was always great until recently. I arrived at the shop on Wednesday, November 22nd around 5:45, after school. I wasn't greeted, just looked at, although I said hello. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they were busy. I sat patiently where they could see me while they serviced the guests that were there before me. A lady and her daughter walked in at 6:05, & one of the workers immediately went up to them, greeted them, sat them & started working on them. The basic color services are good with lots of variety to pick from. The polish stays on for a long time. When I have asked for a design or an accent nail in a different color is when I've had issues. If you want a design I would advise that you ask if it will look like your photo and closely watch the order they paint it in. My last two trips have ended with me being unhappy while leaving and paying $25+ for gel polish for me and normal polish for my daughter or $23+ for jus...t gel polish for me with a "design" that is nothing like my picture that I have to deal with the next couple of weeks. If I show you a picture of a simple chevron nail stripe that I would like and you tell me you can do it, then you proceed to mess up the color order on my nails and the chevron and make the chevron curved instead of sharp points for a chevron then inform me as I'm paying, more than I have ever had to pay here for just a polish, that it would have been sharp had they done it with dip color. Well if you would have said that I would have done a dip.... last time I was here I had the guy explain an idea to me then i was passed to another tech who did something completely different and he explained his vision to her multiple times. If I go back I will only allow 2 of their techs to do my nails. I will not pay this much for gel polish to be disappointed when I leave. Absolutely LOVE this place! They allowed me to schedule a private party for me and my bridesmaids to get wedding ready tonight. They closed early so we would be the only ones in the salon while also providing champagne and catered to our every need (like passing out the food we brought)! Called for price before booking and the receptionist quoted the base price with no mention that based on hair stylist the price would increase. So based on the price the receptionist quoted i asked her to schedule an appt. She then set up an appt with a master stylist. The haircut and color i received was average and i paid more for it then what i would consider fair. ($20 more than the price quoted). Puzzled!   Had hair dyed blonde a couple weeks ago and it did not last. Went back and asked for them to re-do. The colors used throughout the salon are attractive and the lay-out is very inviting as well.2. My hair dresser, Ashley Davis was both delightful and very competent. The girl that did my hair did a terrible job. I went in for a cut, color, and a few highlights. When I went in my hair was a light brown. You know how sometimes salon/spas can be a little too clean & minimalist, a little too snooty & condescending at times? Yeah, Vintage does not have that problem. If anything, they might be a little too casual.First things first: my hairstylist Ashley is adorable, friendly and highly efficient. She was patient when showing me how to style my hair for a cut, and flexible when scheduling a follow up cut or bang trim. The male massage therapist (I forget his name, and I'm not sure if he's the only one or not) is extremely good, but a little awkward in how he positions you during a session. My face was right in front of his crotch for a good five minutes while he worked my shoulder, and it's hard to relax when you're trying really hard not to giggle and wondering if you should say something. I still felt awesome afterwards, which is the true measure of an effective massage.The pedicure was underwhelming and over-priced, however. For nearly $70, I should get a mud wrap and some paraffin and a scrub and some diamond powder instead of a very basic soak, scrub, lotion and polish. My nail tech was not as friendly, and a neighboring nail tech was very frankly discussing bodiy functions with her client right next door. Which, that's cool, I guess, but a little awkward and off-putting, especially when your own tech barely says a word.Every time I've been in there, Vintage has been packed to the gills, very loud and very busy. I'm glad to see a local business so bustling, but a few more walls in the place would work wonders. There was a weirdly large amount of kids running around, too. Vintage also makes all their appointments manually in giant wirebound appointment books, which just makes me nervous, and also just seems inefficient. AND the parking in this shopping center in general is absolutely wretched. Vintage is tucked back and away close to the Grandview Tavern, so there is pretty much nowhere to park that's not halfway across the lot.So, I will definitely continue to get my hair done by Ashley, and I might try another massage if the price is right, but I know there are better deals on pedicures out there, and probably won't be trying anything new. I went in on Saturday, for the first time... I had not had a haircut since January. That last haircut was awful, short, uneven... a mess. That was at a different salon in Florence. But i can't help but to spread the word of how happy and satisfied i am with Vintage. I originally went in the middle of febuary i think, I went back to meagon rogers 3/11/11. To my suprise my glass of wine was already waiting on me upon entering the salon,along with smiling faces to greet me. The owner Shanon was great, and expressed her gratitude for my last review. But i was only being honest, because i know how hard and frustrating it can be to find a great hairstylist and wonderful atmosphere at the same time. So being that i read reviews before i spend my hard earned money, i had to post my experience for others who might need some advice. I was recommended to try Julie at Vintage from a friend, and since we had similar hair types, I thought I'd give her a try. Julie is now my go to stylist. Every time she higlights/cuts my hair, I am always happy and always get compliments. And the price is very reasonable for the service. It's a bit of a drive for me, but completely worth the trip. After my stylist up and moved to Tampa, FL I have yet to find someone as good as her...until Leann. I've been searching and searching, trying different stylists, etc., and after finding CitySearch and reading reviews on Leann, I decided to go for it and just schedule an appointment and I'm so glad I did. Leann came in early for me to get my hair done before I had to go into work, which was super nice of her! We sat down, she was very attentive, asked what I liked/didn't like about my hair cuts/color in the past, etc...and then gave me recommendations of what she thought would look good and where we should go with what I told her I liked/didn't like. We ended up putting some red in throughout my dark brown hair and gave my cut a little more edge with some layers and razoring. I moved to Northern Kentucky in 2007 with Great Lengths Hair Extensions in my hair and for 3 years had different sylists in the area who were not able to place or remove them correctly. I had decided that there must be no one in the area that could do this for me and just wanted them removed. I found Shannon who gently removed them from my hair with NO damage. She gave me a cut, color and a few days later I began receiving complements. Yesterday, I had another appointment and wanted an ""up-do"" for a special occasion last evening. Again, Shannon gave me a trim and a deep rich color and Ashley Gave me an up-do and also did my make-up. I must tell you, all night long...women that I didn't know were wanting to know who did my hair. The Vintage Salon was able to achieve something that no one else in Northern Kentucky was able to do. I was in the salon to see Emily bright and early this morning this was my second time going to her and this time I decided to have the Keratin Complex treatment done to my hair. I have been going to Vintage for as long as it has been open and my previous stylist left, I would recommend her to anyone, if anyone is picky about their hair it is me, afterall I trust her to do my hair and I had been going to the same stylist for 12 years before her. I have been going to Leann for about 3 years now or so. My mom won a gift certificate set to Chappies when she still worked there, so I decided I'd give it a try and that's when I found Leann. She is hands down the best hair stylist i've ever been to. I'm very picky about the shade of blonde that I am when I get highlights, but she always listens and does everything just perfect. When she left Chappies for Vintage Salon, she sent me a card with her new phone number and address. She honestly values all of her customers and takes a genuine interest in them. I have since left for college, but everytime I'm home I make sure to go get my hair done by Leann.
