If I could give 0 stars, I would. I’m crying. Holly Helm destroyed my hair. I went in with mid-back length dark brown hair. I’ve been getting it dyed to cover grey for years, and wanted to stop. I haven’t dyed or processed in any way (not even blow dry or heat more than 1x/week) for 4 months in anticipation of having someone put in ash hilights to blend the grey and tone out the dye line. I wanted a cool tone (no red or orange), and said I’m fine if it has to be darker color... since I know lightening hair that has been dyed dark can be a process. Y’all, my thick, long, dark, healthy hair has been fried. It was falling out IN CLUMPS when I left. Look at my pic. That’s not a trendy hi-lo asymmetrical cut, it’s how my hair is breaking off of my head. Also the dark roots? That’s not the space between where she blehached away from my scalp, that’s where she DYED IT BLACK without telling me, the very thing I didn’t want done! And the reddish pink tint to the bottom half isn’t just something my camera did, that’s the color she gave me. As she was drying it to style, the brush was ripping through my dried, fried, destroyed hair and hairs were falling and flying everywhere. She said “that’s what you get when you go from dark to platinum!” What?!?!? I never asked to go to platinum! And if losing over half my hair was what you expected, you should have told me! AND, this sure as shit ISN’T PLATINUM! I’m so freaking sad. My husband returns from 2 months away in a couple of weeks, then we are finally going on our honeymoon after being married and saving for years. I wanted to feel beautiful, but my hair has the texture of Einstein’s and the color of a nebula. I have contacted another stylist who has informed me that stripping the dye out will just cause damage, and the breakage will continue so a super short cut and a dye back to dark brown is kinda my only option, so exactly what I didn’t want. Hai Tran is at Salon Q is amazing , professional and a passionate hair stylist ! I would recommend him to anyone ! He does both men and women's hair . He is great with with both cuts and colors :) I am very picky , and particular with my hair and Hai Tran was able to give me a look that I loved and I have no regrets . Read Less

I came to this salon to get an up-do for a wedding. I booked the salon in early June and after the appointment was booked (roughly two minutes later) I was called back to see if I could start my appointment a half hour earlier than the person who was also scheduled to get their hair done with me. I don't recall being asked about my phone number during the booking, but assumed since I was called back that it would be written down. I never received a confirmation phone call in the time leading up to the appointment. We arrived for the scheduled appointment about 10 minutes prior and one of the stylists working seemed confused about our arrival and told us a couple of girls were on their way. When I finally got a chair, my stylist was friendly but checked their personal cell phone at least twice. I had asked for a up do a bit higher on my head and it ended up very low (though beautiful) and the stylist seemed like they had been called into work inconveniently early. I love this place! Angie Gonzales is amazing! My hair turned out EXACTLY the way I wanted it! It takes a lot to impress me with my hair. I'm very particular and set high expectations. I asked for a specific look, went in with a specific looked and walked out with exactly what I wanted. I have NEVER been happier with a stylist. I was on the hunt for a new stylist and remembered someone I knew through family, worked here. Salon q is awesome!!! I felt at home. The atmosphere was laid back, hip, and welcoming!!! The vibe of all the stylists was friendly. You know how sometimes you go into a salon and even if you like your stylists the ones working there are snotty or put off a discerning air; not an issue here. The music and decor were a bonus. And...most importantly,  the cut and color was PERFECTION!!!! Angie Gonzales is amazing!!!! She took her time, was friendly, helpful, and just an all around pleasure to have work on my hair. Salon Q is the worst place to get your hair colored and cut. Holly is the worse hair dresser in the salon, she chops your hair to were its unblendable as well as colors it the incorrect color you asked for. She let's your hair dye set in your hair for hours until it's completely fried. Holly is the WORSE hair dresser I have came across in years. Unbelievable unprofessional work. Salon Q is a great place full of warm and experienced people. Maria has been doing my hair and my daughters the last several times and we are thrilled with the results!!She does nice things like buying glitter spray for my daughter and deep conditioned her hair for free.
