I have to admit, I was very skeptical about going to a walk in salon but I was desperate and willing to shave my head if I couldn’t get something done! Sevat was WONDERFUL! She actually talked me out of cutting ALL of my hair off because of the damage from a bad perm! I was sure I couldn’t save any of it, but, much to my surprise, she only took about 2 inches off and it looks and feels so much better! I have been coming to City Looks/Serenity for about 15 years. I have stayed with them even when my normal stylists have left for other salons in the area and I have always been impressed with them until today. I had an appointment and called in to say that I would be about 5 minutes late and the receptionist was very rude and said that would be fine as long as I was okay with my stylist not finishing my hair. When I told her I would be only about 5 minutes late and only wante...d a trim, her response was "our stylists are booked for the minimum time and have other customers after you, so if you're okay with your hair not getting finished, that will be fine." I was shocked as I had never been spoken to rudely at City Looks/Serenity and when I've been late, I have never been told my hair stylist wouldn't finish my hair, especially when I was only five minutes late and called ahead to let them know. While I have had great service here for years (hair, facials, mani/pedis, waxing) the receptionist made me feel more like a number than a customer and it made me feel like I should take my business elsewhere if that is what Serenity's business practices have evolved into. Got an acrylic powder fill done (which is always a gamble at a new salon) but am happy to say I am more than pleased with the service I got today. Erin was fabulous and did a terrific job fixing up my nails that had previously been done poorly at a different salon. Will most definitely see her again! Read Less

To celebrate my friends 50th birthday we went here for a pedicure and facial. I was super excited because 2 of the 4 in our party of friends had never had a facial but my excitement soon turned to disappointment when we started walking back and the temperature rose fast. All of the estheticians explained that they could not do steam facials cause it was to hot. The facial was good but disappointed especially when we were all told different stories of why the air was not worki...ng. I am wondering why if it had not been working very well that they would not call me ahead of time and ask if this was okay. We also had a pedicure which was wonderful. The new dry way was very good. The staff did a great job and was a lot of fun. The review would be much higher if the air worked. At least it gives me another reason to get together with my friends so they can have a steam facial as promised. See more Read Less
