Came into Beauty Brands for a bang trim last night & the girl, Jennifer I believe, butchered them. I explained exactly what I wanted & she did the opposite. On top of them being way to short they are extremely crooked but I don't want them fixed bc they will be even shorter. I've had bangs for about 10 years & have never had such a horrible bang trim. I’m giving one star because they did work with me on changing my appointment time. However, my daughters hair was horrible! We paid $61 for the “Master” stylist. I would like to know what she’s a master of. I can do hair better than what they did at beauty brands. We will never go there again. It was my daughters first homecoming dance so I treated her to get her hair done. DO NOT GO TO THE OLATHE BEAUTY BRANDS!!! I want my money back! Read Less

I have 2 recent mediocre experiences with Alyssa at this location. The first time I brushed it off because everyone can have a bad day but the second time, it's unacceptable. She wasn't helpful, acted as if she didn't want to ring up my purchase and the 2nd visit, she didn't want to give me my change back. After ringing up my purchase and mumbling a thank you I had to say "my change please." She reluctantly gave it to me. Ulta is my primary store so I will focus on my shopping there. Read Less

This was my first time at this store. Honestly, I forgot that this location even existed. And I work right down the street. The enthusiastic and energetic cashier noticed I was buying a certain men's hair product, and happily scanned a coupon I wasn't even aware existed. The coupon saved me a cool $4.00. I'm from out of town... thought I would get a haircut and made an appointment. I went into the store for my appointment. I was told she was in the middle of a perm and would be with me at 11:30. Well when the receptionist told me this, she pointed at the woman who was getting a perm. I said okay and waited. So I waited... 15 minutes later the receptionist told me that the lady with the perm was not happy with it and that I would have to wait.... so I should rescheduled. What I noticed was the lady with the perm was still waiting in the corner and my stylist was with another person..... wait WHAT??? Went in for a partial lowlite the colorist comes up asked me how many foils I want (I don't know… However many come in a partial?) and lets me know that they had booked her really tight that day, and she would only have time for a few foils. I would rather reschedule then have her do a rushed color job, so after some gentle prodding from her I said I would call another time if need be. I got a half hearted I'm sorry and that was the end of the customer service experience. Not even an offer to try to fix it, or even a 10% off eyebrow wax, or anything that was just it. I used to get my hair done here before prices were raised yet again. The salon is good but not stellar, especially for the price. However, if you need a new makeup style, the ladies here are always happy to help. Great place to get a free makeover for your face and find decent makeup at a fairly decent price. Just so everybody knows if you ever think about working for Beauty Brands just don't. It is a horrible company ran by horrible people. In the few months that I worked there as a manager I was definitely not treated well by upper management. First of all I wasn't making enough money to deal with the bullshit that I was dealing with. I was doing my job plus the jobs of some of the upper management plus the job of other shift managers like myself. I was making $9 an hour as a m...anager, which seriously I could go sack grocerys starting at 10 . The upper managers never did anything while they were in the store they would just hole up in the back office gossiping or they would go outside for a smoke break and stay out there for an hour and proceeded to do that every two hours of their shift. When I started working there I was made promises like getting to take home free product and that there would be a lot of room for growth in the company both of which are completely not true. If you wanted to make plans for your week just forget it because your schedule won't come out until the day before it's supposed to take effect so I would come to work on saturday still not knowing what my schedule for sunday was going to be. And despite the fact that I was a hard worker who they knew they could always rely on; when I told them that I had found a new job opportunity and would be leaving them they decided to tell me that if I didn't return my key to them by today, which is a holiday might I remind you, that they were going to call loss prevention and turn me in for stealing which they know that I have never done and would never do because it's just not the kind of person that I am.
