Cut so deep with the emery board. It was so painful and bled like crazy. I mean it was rough, and the finished nails are so thick and gross. Never cleaned out underneath or around. I went to pro nails about 3 and a 1/2 years ago and had such a bad experience that I said I would never go back. But I heard positive reviews so I thought I would give it one more try. I just came from there now and it was awful. I called this morning and was given 12 o'clock appt. They never ask my name or what I wanted. The wait area was full when I got there and although I had an appointment I still waited for 20 minutes. It was very busy!! I got in a pedicure chair about... 25 minutes after arriving. And stuck my feet in cool water. When I mentioned it they turned the heater on for about 3 minutes but the water went back to cool. I sat for another 20 minutes. There were 7 employees and 15 customers. A young man finally started, never asked what I wanted, never greeted me, only kept up a constant chatter with other workers in their own language, while he worked. The file and buffers were used!! I was in today and I was the only one in the shop so I did not have to wait. I got a powder dip manicure which I have gotten numerous times at different salons (so I’m aware of the process). This has to be the worst experience I have ever had. Not only did I leave the store with numerous cuts to my cuticles (at least one on every finger) one that is even bleeding still 15 minutes after leaving. I have the previous nail polish smeared and dried all over my fingers. One several of my nails the color is patchy and uneven. All they offered was to add 2 punches to a discount card that I will never use and to take off the price for removing the previous color. I vote Pro Nails as the best salon in Newton. They're far beyond what I think. We were very accommodated when getting nail. My cuticles are perfect and my feet are always soft after the pedicure. They were professional and meticulous at what they did. The ambient of this place is perfectly clean and serene. Why I should go anywhere else when I got here ? I highly recommended this place. I've been Pro Nails in Newton a few times and never disappointes. Very affordable compare to other nail salons in Newton! I was so pleased and the staff were so friendly. I love my shellac French manicure it came out amazing. They really took their time and do a quality job. The only place I trust for great quality and price. I can't wait to come back. Since moving to the Newton I have been to a lot of shops only to get my nails done once and I just like this place. Until I walked into Pro Nails. Is the best shop I've ever gone to. The nail staff are wonderful people who care about their clients. They do great work and are fairly priced. I've found pictures of nails and came in asking if they could do them and they always can unlike other places. I've been to that say yes and then they look nothing like what i asked. They have a lots of colors to choose from in both traditional polish. I will never go to another store anymore. I visit them twice a month and always leave a satisfied customer! Read Less

I am very unhappy with the service here. I made an appointment for 12:00. I arrived and was not greeted. I took it upon myself to pick out and polish. I waited 10 minutes and was taken to the pedicure station. The water was scolding hot. They lowered the tempature and waited on other customers. I sat waiting until 12:40. No one came. I dried off my feet and left the salon. At no time did anyone interact with me. With the quality of their polishes ( they were old colors and used up) they need to pay attention to their customer service. Read Less

I decided to give them a third chance. First of all, the wait is horrible and they don't seem to care when you've been ignored repeatedly. Whenever I go here and get an acrylic set, they're VERY bumpy, too thick, and wind up popping off in about a week. It's a total waste of money. My daughter got her nails done here....#1 the guy doing her nails never asked her how long she wanted them...#2 he had to redo a nail because he put it on crooked...#3 he glued his finger to hers.....#4 the don't ask if anything hurts they just rip or tear the nail off...#5 It looks like my daughters regular nails....I paid $25.00 and it was one of the WORST experiences she's ever had......I would HIGHLY NOT recommend this place...I will be calling to get these redone.....!!!! I usually wouldn't leave a negative review, but I feel strongly enough about my visit this time that I am going to. I have had average (can't think of a "great" one) visits when there are only a few other customers, but any time they are "busy" the service level goes way down. I waited for 20 min, which was fine, but then they put me and my sister in chairs to soak our feet and we waited for 45min in lukewarm water before someone started on me. He completed my pedicure and th...en started on my sister, who had taken her feet out of the cold water by that point. I was supposed to get a manicure, too, but as we had already been there for close to two hours and looked like that would take another large chunk of time to even get started, I decided to pass. In fact, I think he forgot that I asked for a manicure because he seemed surprised when I said I was going to pass on the manicure because things had taken so long. Just seems like the management/efficiency/organization/customer service goes way down as more people come in. All of this aside, I also really feel uncomfortable when the employees only talk among each other in their own language the entire time. Would have appreciated some good customer service!
