After the experience I had going to this salon I honestly would not recommend going to it. I went on 2/23/2018. My boyfriend took me for a nice pampering day and this was not pampering. (I got my nails done from who I would presume was the owner) I went in to get a full set done. I walked in and was greeted by a guy eating a bag of chips who seemed annoyed I wanted my nails done. He then told me to pick out a color and I was like “ I brought my own.” And he then told me to sit and I did. I sat for about 15-20 minutes waiting. He then came over and started getting ready and then wandered off. The part that really bothered me was the end. He had everything on the towel and it was really close to my nails. So I kept my hands close together so they wouldn’t get messed up and he kept moving them apart and they would touch the things around and get messed up, and he would blame it on me. He kept acting like I didn’t know what to do or anything about nails or like it was my very first time getting them done. Then when they were totally done he took me over to the dryer and told me to put one hand in and I did and he laughed and basically said I did it wrong and put the wrong hand in when I put the hand he told me to in. Also while I was under the dryer he went out to as I presume would be to smoke. When he came back in he was like “There is a sally hansen top coat you should get it’s almost like gel nail polish.” And Then I said “ Well I think I may already have it I have a large color collection and about 8 different top coats.” (I have about 300 different polishes the last time I counted, about 90% of it is the sally hansen collection.) He apparently did not like my answer because then he snapped back with “Well what’s it called then?” And I was like “I have no idea I have so many different top coats I don’t know them by name.” To which he snarled “It’s called the diamond top coat.” And walked off. He then charged 35 dollars when he said it was going to be 30 the 5 extra dollars was for nail art which I didn’t get. Over all my nails look amazing. But my nail do not feel amazing. My hands hurt immediately after which has never happened before and there are cuts all around my nails. Some of the cuts I feel were intensionally done, because he made me feel like doing my nails was an imposition as opposed to making me feel like a valued customer. I will definitely not be going back. It doesn’t matter how my nails look at this point. It was how I was treated. Treating me like I am dumb and as if I don’t know anything. Knocking on my profession. Making my hands hurt to the point where I am cradling a cold bottle that night to make the pain go away. It was not worth it. That has never happened before in all the time I have gone to get my nails done. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I went there one time before a few years ago and the experience was great. I was in there for two hours and the whole process normally takes no more than one hour. Received a fill-in from Toes & Tips, three or four days later three of my nails broke in less than a week of getting my nails done. Called back to let me know, they blamed me for my nails breaking. Customer service was terrible. The customer does not come first at this establishment,they only care about taking your money. Don't go here, save your money. When I first came her I got Chris to do my toes and he did an amazing job and I was very happy with everything. He can pretty much do whatever design you want on your toes and he's very relatable to talk to. However the last few times I have gone there has been a mix-up with the schedule and he becomes double booked and I don't get him. this was my second time here and I was giving it a second chance. I got a manicure and a pedicure. The guy who did my nails didn't want to talk to me at all... I had to try to initiate a conversation but he seemed uninterested. He also didn't spend very much time on either service, I've been to other salons and I feel the service here was rushed, I probably could have done a better job at home by myself. The guy spend so little time on me -- the lady who started a manicure the same time as me was still doing her job when my pedicure was already half way done. Even worse, the guy was talking to another customer he might have known better while he was doing my pedicure, which made me very upset and uncomfortable. Last, the guy rushed me to pay afterwards and didn't want to help at all to get my card out when my nails were still not dry, I was always offered assistance when it was time to pay since my nails weren't dry yet. I've tried to give this place a second chance. This was my second attempt bc my normal place was booked. I did a shellac mani and regular pedi. The staff was rude and not professional. They appeared bothered to have a customer. My nails were done by noon and by 5:30 the shellac was chipping. They did fix it the next day. However, it's only been a week and they're chipping again. Typically my shellac will last 2 to 3 weeks before chipping. This salon is much more expensive than most and poor quality. I will not return... :( Read Less

I visited this nail salon about a month ago and was extremely disappointed. The lady who did my pedicure never said one word to me or told me her name. The place is very crowded and stuffy, especially where they do pedicures which is in the back of the salon. For the service I got, it was overpriced. I paid $28 and all the lady did was take off my old nail polish and paint the new polish on. I could've done that myself at home for free! The reason I get pedicures is to relax and feel pampered. I visited Toes & Tips yesterday and was surprised at the lack of organization at this salon. The Kansas State Collegian rates this salon the number one in Manhattan and I wholeheartedly disagree. First and foremost this salon has the smallest array of nail polish I've ever seen at a nail salon. Specifically gel polish. They carry mainly Gelish polish and have a very small variety of OPI Gel Shine. I called the salon ahead of time and made a appointment for 1 pm. It was about 1:40 by the time they started my gel manicure. I was moved around four times and was frustrated. The owner of the store kept taking calls and setting appointments in front of me despite saying he was going to do my manicure. However, Krystal did my manicure and I was thankful for her detail oriented nature and meticulousness. Overall I was satisfied with the manicure she gave me. I had a appointment today along with my mother and sister. It was uncomfortable and not welcoming at all. There were many rude comments made by a man working there not once but three times. First off you don't talk to women like that. If it's a business your employees should act like professionals and watch their mouths. Especially to a 15 yr old girl. We thought we would try somewhere new but obviously that was a mistake. He was talking about being a bully and his exact word...s were " I'm not a bully I haven't kicked anyone out yet" and looked at us. Was that supposed to be a threat or what? I don't get my nails done often so I don't always know what to expect. So I felt pretty uncomfortable. They were pretty busy and saw me immediately. It was during winter and it was really cold outside and they had the door open. I was sitting right beside the door and it was miserable. The woman rushed on my nails, a basic manicure, and my nails looks horrible before I even attended my event I had them done for. Atmosphere was unpleasant as was the service. Don't recommend. Normally I don't have an issue when I get my nails done here, however, when my daughter and I got our nails done a few weeks ago, the nail tech came I from smoking and did not wash his hands. Then, he blew his nose not once but twice while doing my nails and did not wash his hands or use hand sanitizer. So gross!! Worst place I have ever gone to get my nails done. I never mind waiting but once I got my nails done the girl wasn't gentle, rushed and tore up my nails! Then my shellac chipped within three days. I have never had my shellac chip from the usual salon I go to in kc. When I called to talk to the salon about it they were so rude and proceeded to say it was my fault my nails chipped and can't do anything for me. My nails look awful and I will never return. Today was the 2nd time I've tried this salon. The first time I was iffy about my experience but given the great reviews I thought I would give it another try. I called and made an appointment for the service I wanted (full set pink and white) I sat down in the chair and the technician(the owner) asked me why I wanted pink and white. I replied because that's my preference and that is what I wanted. Mind you, he was the one who did my pink and white fill the first time I went to the salon.  He asked if he could just do white tips and "call it a day" I replied no that's not what I want. He said "well my tech that does pink and white quit" Again knowing he had done my own nails before. And he followed up with pink and whites take a long time. I said never mind and walked out. They lost a full set of pink and whites and a gel manicure for my daughter. A very disappointing experience from what is supposed to be the best nail salon in Manhattan. I had an appointment and didn't have to wait very long to get seen. My experience wasn't bad but less than what I am familiar with. My nails were filed poorly and were shaped crookedly. The woman who did my manicure was competing with her boyfriend about who could get done the fastest. As a result of that I left with a poorly done gel manicure that chipped within days. Read Less

Chris did my gel french pedicure and I would definitely recommend him for custom work. He has a good mixture of efficiency and perfectionism. I was looking for a very specific design and he gladly obliged. Go in with a clear plan of action and Chris will execute every detail. The pedicure chairs were the most comfortable I've ever sat in. This salon was wonderful. They got me in quick, although I did make an appointment, and they treated me well. It's a little small, although not too small. They have a wide variety of colors and options, and they can do a lot with what they have. They do lack an adequate number of manicure chairs, and I got my manicure in one of the pedicure chairs. The lady who did my nails was absolutely wonderful and friendly, very chatty, but focused on her job. Best nail salon I have been to in Manhattan.  This is a new salon to the area.  The decor is very modern and uber clean.  The staff are great and very friendly.  They accept walk-ins, but prefer that you make an appointment.  They are open 7 days per week which is great. I went in for a fill-in, but will make an appointment for a pedicure next time - those zero gravity chairs looked wonderful and super relaxing!  I looked over their menu of services and the offer a wide variety of options.  They even have special services for children!They offer a discount card for students and military!
