I'm from out of town and found this convenient nail salon. I walked in, was greeted, and asked what service I needed. Replied, "gel manicure." Was then asked to sign in and pick a gel color. I walked to the woman who would be rendering the service requested. When comparing my experience back home to today's: WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I commenced small talk and "Jenny" was the woman who helped me. She proceeded to file the top coat off, placed a piece of cotton with acetone on top of my finger nail, and covered it with foil paper. Proceeded to do the same on the rest of my finger nails. She then removed the foil paper, scrapped off the gel, put my hand in a zip blog bag, added cuticle softener, and then my hand went inside a heat sleeve! It was extremely HOT to the point my right hand couldn't resist the temperature! Jenny started cutting the cuticle, filed my nails, and once completed started to add the gel color. I understand any dark colored gel is difficult to work with; however, my nails were bumpy & the gel polish looked messy with no finishing shine! When asked to look and give my feedback, I did. Expressed my nails looked messy and requested to speak to the owner or manager. The young woman (may have been the owner?) approached the station and started to speak in her native with Jenny which is EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude!!! The young woman started cutting my cuticle and claimed to help fix it! Well, fixing it in her eyes was: cutting my cuticle, adding another coat of gel color, the top coat, and cuticle oil. Mind you after all that was completed, "it still looked messy." However, the young lady stated, "look what a little fixing can do?" Um, still looks the same!!! I asked her, "how can this be fixed?" She replied, "removing the gel which will take another 30min." I was already there over 1hr. Didn't have time to sit another 30min & hear her speak to the young man (maybe her husband?) in their native language. Again, VERY unprofessional. I asked, "are you charging me?" She said, "$26." I replied, "you're charging me $26 for a messy service in which I am unpleasant with and will need to get fixed elsewhere?" Her response, "i am not charging you for the gel (excuse me, what?) we did a manicure and removed the gel you had." I said, "i will need go, spend another 1hr, and pay someone else to fix what you did." Then said, "i'll give you $20, although in the customer service world; the customer is always right and she acknowledged it looked messy. She wanted to argue with me and her husband said, "it's ok, $20 is fine." At that point I was beyond upset. By no means was I being unreasonable; however, decided to walk out and paid $0. The young woman said, "hope Karma gets you cos we are a small business." As a small business owner myself: shouldn't providing quality service be a priority? Shouldn't you maintain your professionalism at all times? Speaking in your native language is EXTREMELY unprofessional and very RUDE! End result: messy manicure and a burnt right hand! Read Less
