Usually they do a good job here, but the lady who did my pedicure didn't ask if I wanted to upgrade to a spa pedicure nor if I wanted to have the razor used.   She was more interested in talking to the other people that doing my pedicure.  I asked her no color or anything on my nails and yet she still put on a clear coat.   I could barely tell her I didn't want it because she wouldn't stop talking to the girl next to her. We were the only people in the salon basically the entire time so there wasn't a reason to rush through.  When done I took a look at my feet and it looks no different than when I walked through the door. My mother and I frequent here, but I might be looking for a new place and no longer joining her. Read Less

I've been coming here for many years, and I am a fan!  I've had one or two meh experiences over the years, but the majority of the time, I love their service and results.  Their prices are reasonable, and they are always friendly.  I enjoy coming in and they offer wine and shoulder massages after a manicure.  Great perks! I have gone to Nailcessity for 10+ years and have sadly seen most of the quality people move on to other salons. I have remained loyal but only have Cindy or Vicki do my pedicures/manicures.. Went in on Sunday and Vicki was off and Cindy was busy so I made the mistake of allowing an older woman( who has been there for awhile) do my mani/pedi.. Big Mistake.. hours later I had a wonky French manicure on my toes and a polish job on my hands that looked like it had been put on by a 3 year old.. I asked if she could clean up my nails where she had gotten polish outside of my nail beds and she took her manicure scissors and proceeded to snip and drew blood on two fingers.. I finally( much too late!) called Cindy over to take a look .. she looked at the polish job and then started a lot of fast talking in Vietnamese with my nail technician.. she said for me to come back on Monday and she would fix my nails.. no charge for manicure . I asked if I could have the horrible polish just removed as I could not go to work on Monday with them looking so nasty.. so..the woman who had already botched my manicure now scraped and scraped to get the layers of polish off.  After 2.5 hours I had a wonky pedicure and bloody ( non-polished) nails .. when I went to check out she still tried to charge me for the manicure.. I had to call Cindy back and have her tell the lady again no charge for the manicure.. I gave her a 10% tip... stupidly!! Because I felt bad that this had taken up so much time.. and she still glared at me for the stingy tip... DO NOT RECOMMEND. Received one of the sloppiest gel manicures of my life here yesterday. The technician was extremely rough with my brittle nails while filing, not to mention she filed them after soaking, which I recall from beauty school is a no-no. She shaped my nails very unevenly and way overdid cuticle trimming, drawing blood on my left thumb. There was no evidence the tools she used had ever seen an autoclave. When she was pushing back cuticles on my right hand she used a somewhat sharp tool and actually peeled away layers of my nails. I should have walked out before she even got to the polish process, but I mistakenly gave the benefit of the doubt. During the gel process she was again sloppy, leaving bumps and texture caught in the gel, then not fixing it as I pointed it out. There was lots of polish left in my nail beds and on my finger tips when I left. The polish she used itself was dry and sticky. She pushed the color all the way into my cuticle, which leaves a lip as it grows out and makes the gel more likely to lift and peel away. She used 3 coats of gel making the coverage overly thick and again, prone to peeling. On the final top coat she was careless about coverage, leaving the finish uneven and patchy, shiny like glass in some areas with noticeable dullness in the patches she missed. The UV lamp was dirty, there were crumbs and debris on my fingers every time I took them out from under the lamp, debris that could easily get stuck on my sticky nails and further ruin the uniformity of the manicure. Generally speaking I paid $35 for something I could have done better at home myself, I have the uv lamp and everything. What's worse is I sat in my car working up the nerve to walk back in and complain, and when I did I was met with excuses, resistance, three employees were chattering back and forth with an energy that made me feel very stressed and embarrassed. This was such a bummer for me. This place should close at 6pm or sooner. No reason to be "open" when the lady working on my feet is rushing, and yelling out to the person who is waiting to pick her up (who clearly cannot hear her through the glass). I called to make sure they were open until 7pm on Saturday night. The lady said yes, but last appointment at 6:30pm. So I came in at 6:15pm for a pedicure (didn't actually get started until 6:25p because she was finishing up the previous 2 customers that were leaving and then I was last). I asked for the "deluxe". I was the only customer there, and there was only one lady working. at 6:30 the lady said she would not do the deluxe, but just the "regular", and I could see that she was starting to rush and yelling/waving to the person sitting out in the car waiting to pick her up. she was done by 6:40 and was clearly rushing, barely took time to paint my toes, and clean them up. I refused to pay because it was just not what I wanted, and I hated feeling rushed. And sadly, the lady hardly spoke english, so I didn't even know how to communicate with her that this was not right. This was my very first time to this nail salon, as it was on my everyday route. Needed a fill. I walked in to the salon and no one even greeted me. They were obviously busy but didn't even acknowledge me. A couple of minutes later, a lady said what do you need. I told her and she kept working. I got my things and walked out. There's too much competition for rudeness ~ especially when it comes to nail salons. Customer service is definitely lacking. Will never return. Read Less

I had a gel manicure here and it's one of the worst manicures I've ever had. A few of my nails have little bumps on them and some have areas where she missed with the polish. She didn't apply any lotion to my fingers and they are visibly dry from the acetone. Also, she cut me twice while trimming my cuticles. Please, don't go here. They are bad. Really, really bad. Not a good experience. I was greeted upon arrival by one of the ladies. I told her what I wanted (pink and whites - French tip) she kept burning me with the electric filer as she seemed to be rushing. I watched them offer three different customers wine, sprite, or water but didn't offer me anything. The lady barely said a word to me. As she was doing my nails I noticed between all of my nails there was a space between my nails and the white tip, which would cause product, food, and bacteria to get in between. I asked her if she could do something to fix it and she told me to sit in the next chair and then another lady came over and put nail glue under all of my nails, which left glue on my skin- glueing MY nail to my skin and still left the spaces between my nails and the white tips. It was horrible and very painful to try to get some of the glue off of my finger. No apologies or anything. I was told "we only changed you $40 and most places charge $50 for what tips" I have never paid $50 for white tips. The service there is HORRIBLE! If I could give zero stars I would. so I've been here a total of 3xs before making a review. the 1st time was a weekend and they were busy. I was with a friend. we got pedicures. the service was average, nothing too positive nothing that stood out. I'd say it wasn't the cleanest nail salon I've been in, nor negative.2nd time, I did a Polish change on my toes and a gel manicure. it was a sunday, they were about average in regards to clients. I felt like the owner was meticulous with my nails wanting them to be perfect. he was friendly. offered wine and even massaged my shoulders. they didn't clip my cuticles though. this time, just a gel manicure. the guy that did my nails last time was sleeping in a pedi throne. there was another worker in the nail table next to me SNORING! I had one of those situations where I felt they were talking about me in Vietnamese, smh. but.. I guess I'll never know. lastly, there's a bit of gel Polish sitting my cuticle. if it peels up, I'll just come back. I should've said something while I was there. Read Less

This is my personal opinion...the gel manicure I received there today looks terrible. The guy basically painted over my cuticles & it just looks messy. The only reason I gave it ANY stars is because I went once before and they did an ok job (that's why I went back there). I am extremely disappointed because I have a HUGE event tomorrow morning & no time to go anywhere & get them redone. It looks like I painted them myself AND it cost $30. One of the worst manicures I've ever had. Barely cut off any cuticles, hangnails. One nail cut/filed at an angle. Polish was applied unevenly and streaky. Topcoat was uneven and some spots uncovered. Despite using a brush with remover, still left polish on my skin. Brought my own OPI polish which had just been used at another salon with no problems. She added thinner to it without asking and then it was then too thin. Language barrier was greater than at most nail salons. Tech's stations were cluttered and dirty. Tried this place only because my GREAT, usual place across the street was packed and I didn't have an appointment. Polish started chipping off within 24hrs. I cannot speak highly enough of this family - run Salon. Most professional, kind and personable and in no hurry to rush through my pedicure. The leg and foot massage was an unexpected treat. I'm not one to normally write reviews but my service was so bad I'm hoping to save someone else from a bad experience!I was rushed through my mani/pedi that I was hoping to relax through on a Saturday morning, all because they didn't want to lose business on a woman (whose time was more valuable than anyone elses) who barged in and didn't want to wait 5 minutes.  When the lady said she would go elsewhere, the tech left in the MIDDLE of my pedicure to start on her just so they didn't lose her business!Worst manicure I've ever had- polish was slopped on while tech #2 was doing my toes. Gel polish peeled off 3 days later.On top of all of this, my credit card was charged $5 over the price I wrote on my ticket. Due to the poor service, I left only a small tip (though that was more than really deserved) only to find on my bank statement they charged me higher than what I signed for.  Yes, it's only $5..but it is still fraud that I didn't sign for!For someone who has her nails done regularly and recently moved close to this nail salon, it's unfortunate that I had such a bad experience! Walked in for a gel manicure last minute, was sat immediately. The manicurist was very sweet, and did try to upsell me to a mani-pedi. But she asked me if I would like a French manicure, but with American white (more natural look), and the cost was the same. She was a perfectionist, took her time, and gave me a neck rub while my nails were setting! I will definitely go back to her! She did a great job! Read Less

Husband and I both went in for pedis (and a mani for me!), the woman I had was SUPER pushy about up selling the pedicures and a gel manicure - when I turned her down, she wasn't exactly friendly with me anymore - and even was a little rough. Not to mention - the WORST manicure I.HAVE.EVER.HAD!! She did not trim my cuticles AT ALL.. and the paint job was terrible. The pedicure was only ok - but again - she didn't clean up the cuticles at all. It is nice that they offer you a drink and the atmosphere is nice... makes me sad - it has real potential! Read Less

I have been looking for a new salon since I moved to the area.  Had no appt. but was able to walk in.  I have gotten gel manicures for years and was surprised by having to select a color by opening all the bottles to see which one I liked.  Julie was tech and while she did a decent job on my nails was rather pushy for other services.  I did not want a eyebrow wax, a pedi, or a french manicure so she settled to give a two minute shoulder squeeze I assume was to be considered as a massage.Price was good ($30) but.... not sure I will go back. I love this place, every time I get my nails done I am completely happy with the outcome! I have been going to nailcessity for a few years and gotten to know the staff there, they are incredibly friend and talented! I have gone to many nail salons throughout the years and this by far is the best one I have been to! I live in the area and this is my absolute favorite place to get my nails done! It is reasonably priced, very clean, and they even serve wine! Tammy is the best manicurist I have ever had, even with having lived in NYC for awhile and having gone to pretty much every nail salon in the city. She is extremely attentive, very thorough, and takes as much time as she needs to make sure that every nail looks perfect. I highly recommend Nailcessity :) Read Less
