Six weeks ago I walked in to the salon (the same day that I had a fill at a cheaper salon in LV) to schedule a fill (for the next fill) before I would go out of town. I had pink & white acrylics. They informed me that they "didn't do acrylics" like it was too old fashioned for an upscale salon like them. They are cutting edge, you know. They had this new fangled process called polygel and listed off how much better it was that that 'dreadful' pink & white acrylic overlay I had on my nails (which looked fabulous by the way) and assured me that they could do pink & white overlays with this mind blowing new process. But we're unable to get me in within two weeks time before I left town, but put me on a waiting list in case of a cancellation. They did not call before I went out of town. I took this as a good sign, they are so good that people don't cancel. I also have had a few regular manicures here in the past that were very good. I admit, I'm very particular about my nails and they passed muster on my natural nail manicures. While out of town, I got a pink only fill that looked great. Called the salon and made an appt for 3 weeks out for a soak off of my acrylics and a full set of this groundbreaking new polygel. Was quoted a price of "$50-60, depending on how long it takes to soak off the acrylics." My appt was with Rachel. Halfway through the soak off she informs me that they can't do the pink & white in the polygel "they only make clear, do you still want that?" Uhhh, you have removed most of my existing acrylics, I guess it'll do. But hun, they do make pink & white, you just do not have it here. Be honest, don't lie to me. She applied the polygel and left for a Dr appt and left me to a kind young lady to apply gel polish to simulate the pink & white look. The polygel was applied so uneven and gloppy there was no way any kind of polish was going to look good. See the photos, it was horrendous. I was not happy so the young lady went to talk to someone and came back to tell me that I could pay today and they were going to have a class on polygel on Monday (this happened on a Thursday) and they would fix it on Tuesday-'for free'. Being the kind idiot I am, I thought this is not this techs fault and if that's the best she can do, then, well, that's the best she can do. I go to cash out and am told it's $74. I informed them of the quote I had received, they went to talk to someone, then adjusted the price to the top end of the quote. I tipped zero to the first tech and 20% to the second tech, feeling it wasn't her fault she ended up with this mess and had to give up 2 of her own appts while she was trying to fix this disaster. I walked out, got in my car and said hecks no. This is unacceptable. Walked back in with the intention of just getting this crap off my nails. By some grace, I was assisted by who appeared to be a manager, showed her my nails and told her I couldn't go into public like this. She was very kind, understanding, sat me down, took photos of my nails, told me she would refund my payment and got the 2nd tech and another to file these off. FYI, you can't soak off polygel, they have to be filed off. I agreed that if they could at least get them even and smooth I would be okay until Tuesday. See the photos of the no polish, that was the end result. Even-no, smooth-no. My appt was at 1130, all said and done I got out of there at 1645. I was refunded, had to rerun my card so that this 2nd tech could get a tip-I still felt really bad for tech #2. I also must say that the woman I assume was manager called me on Friday to see if there was anything else she could do. I responded, get this off my nails. Tuesday is the best she could do. Thanks, but five days from the disaster you provided is too long for me to wait for correction. My tech left my old salon which was why I was looking elsewhere. I filed them off myself in 30 minutes and went to a salon in KCK recommended by a friend of my daughter...for $24 less than they tried to charge me and fills will be $10-20 less than what I was quoted at Bella Vita. And they look amazing especially considering that my nails are paper thin and much shorter now from all the filing. I should have taken "before" pictures, but I had no idea this was going to happen. Needless to say I will never, never go to this 'salon' again. No matter how elite & hoity toity they present themselves, they stink. Read Less
